Iran does not have a "right" to nuclear weapons; they themselves signed the non-nuclear proliferation treaty which denies them that right. Israel aside, Iran getting nuclear weapons would trigger a nuclear arms race in the middle east.

The real problem the US has with Iran is the euro-based oil trading exchange that it set-up in 2007 which is in direct competition with the Mercantile Exchange. Iran does not have a "right" to nuclear weapons; they themselves signed the non-nuclear proliferation treaty which denies them that right. Israel aside, Iran getting nuclear weapons would trigger a nuclear arms race in the middle east.
They do however have a right to nuclear power and a legitimate need for the energy. The best course of action is probably the "wait and see" approach. They may be telling the truth about not developing nuclear weapons.

@vdoescl Actually, the National Intelligence Estimate found with "high confidence" that Iran stopping its nuclear weapons program in 2003 but that doesn't stop the US behaving belligerently towards them. The US don't care about a few nukes that some small country has, all they care about are the massive quantities of natural resources that Iran has. @singhkinng Regardless whether Iran's government is based or influenced by theistic beliefs is largely irrelevant here The questions you should be asking yourself are 1) is Iran a danger to the US, the most technologically advanced nation on Earth 2) is Iran surreptitiously pursing nuclear weapons 3) is this just about oil. The only way Iran is a danger to the US is economically, because Iran now sells its oil exclusively in euros, which threatens the dollar as the main trading currency for oil.

But as far as nuclear weapons go, do you seriously believe that Iran possessing Nuclear weapons will have no effect on the power game in the middle east? I would rather have a secular country having monopoly in nuclear weapons (although there are better alternatives) compared to a regime which genuinely believes it can take on the secular west because the messiah will come and destroy its enemies.

The real problem the US has with Iran is the euro-based oil trading exchange that it set-up in 2007 which is in direct competition with the Mercantile Exchange. Not to long ago, Iran and NK switched their currency for oil exchange to euros and given the fact that the euro is increasingly becoming the reserve currency for India, China and Russia, the US dollar will eventually lose its dominance as the main trading currency for oil and the US economy will fall flat on its arse.

-America will create a multi-lateral missile defense system.
