Thanks for the history lesson. CrossFit is far from being the Olympic games. And before you start giving advice about why front squats are better than back, you might wanna do a little more research on the subject. Neither is better. Both have their place in any strength program. Fucking CrossFitters........
I find the front squat to be rather unnecessary. After doing a workout filled with many sets of back squats, I can't understand why in the world I would want to work almost the exact same muscles even more with the front squat. And believe me, I have tried this. It is useless. Seems like people in Crossfit are overworking the same muscles over and over again with their workouts. All I care about are the three powerlifts- the back squat (also known just as the squat), deadlift, and bench press.
@burnindownthehouse then don't do crossfit, only do powerlifting idiot. Notice the word cross in crossfit? Its many variations to work everything in as many ways as possible.
@burnindownthehouse Yeah, I hear people with this opinion a lot - because they don't want to man up and do the exercise. :) I mean, by all means, don't do the exercise... but don't try to convince other people not to do it because you don't have the drive to do a tough exercise.
@DogsPrettylady Because of the straight up and down movement of the front squat (or at least the attempt to keep your torso as vertical as possible) as oppose to pushing your hips back on the way down like in a low bar back squat, there won't be much room for a hip thrust here. You should still aim to drive up with your glutes and squeeze your hips forward into lockout at the top, though.
