In one aspect, Pacifica has no one else to blame for its problems but itself. Small but basic things like responding to your listeners (calling/emailing back, etc.) actually do make a big difference. Especially when you're asking for their pledges.

How come I won't pledge? Because many times I've tried to get information about pledging and other things. No one called me back. Therefore, no point in pledging.

Great radio station. The only non commercial station I've ever known of. Too bad there are far too many fund raising drives. Its tough to compete with corporate radio, who is flush with money...while WBAI relies on public support. In hard times like these, where folks have limited expendable money, its hard to support BAI and pay your own bills.
