The thing that makes this scene so great is that GOW is usually a thrilling, bloody shooter, but then to have such a serene scene with gentle music makes for a complete contrast and amazing moment.

I feel bad for double posting but another thing to add is that the music playing at the time of his death is " Mad world " by Gary Jules , and thats easly the PERFECT song for the moment , besides the sad feel behind it the lyrics also fit perfectly with the scene. Me and my friends knew this song and it just added to the immersion . This is easly one of the best scenes i have even seen on a game. Flawless execution.

This is a very powerful scene that depicts perfectly how Gears isn't just about running around and shooting things. The first time i played this game it was on coop with 3 friends of mine . We played on system link with two Xboxes sitting on the same couch.

We played very cheerfully joking around untill this scene played. We all knew what was going to happen but none of us would speak . We just stared in awe at the screen , and our joking around became silence for about 5 minutes.
