Great game. Similar to Stalker but plays more like a good moovie in which you take part. It can scare you as fuck when played at night. Enemies overwhelming you, situations forcing you to run in desperation, scary enemies, scared people, overall ambiance. Not just meat on the walls and lots of blood like in many other games. A really good game worth giving a try, especially that PC can handle it now.

There are some real pieces of potential for a good horror game, but a couple of the choices just blow the atmosphere really hard. The bits where you catch glimpses of the monster just as it runs around corners, unsure if it was real, the repeating and uneven sounds in the background that are PROBABLY a sign, these are good. But the upclose encounter with the monster just reveals the crux of the thing, and fails to leave the remainder scary.

Can't we all just agree that this game, Dead Space 1 & 2, Doom 3, Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, and Amnesia are scary and badass? I know some are scarier than others but others are cooler. Horror games in general just rule. Dead Space 2 is my favorite just cuz it was a VERY well developed game with strong game play and super awesome graphics. Metro Last Light is gonna kick ass too. Now they just need to update Amnesia and release it on console.

Headphones or loud sound system, big screen, and playing alone at night are the only ways to play these. If you don't really immerse yourself then ya it's not scary. But i think horror games have the MOST effect on me when I really get into them over any other genre. Shooters get boring but scary games are a really powerful escape.
