  • Imagine squatting down to use that thing and then the train goes over a sharp turn just as you are taking a dump : /

  • It's quite clean, considering some of the revolting toilets I have had to use in Asia

  • @ozjenva I agree, the worst I faced was the portaloos in china,I could not use it it made me feel that bad, really made me feel sick.

  • Must have been very smelly being impossible to flush and all that...

  • Yes,it looks unique and interesting. How does it feel like to use a squat?

  • I be honest my friend,I only hover over it.

I know the correct way but as Im not use to that Id end up falling backward, haha.

It feels abit strange and even weird as its so different.Quite surreal.

    I really like them though.

  • Wow,wouldn't your legs ache when you hover over it?I tried hovering over a dirty sitting toilet once and after that,my legs ache.

  • It does abit Marco, but I find the squat way very hard to do.I tumble about.

I do it with public toilets in my country too,so I guess it gets easier.

  • I guess practice makes perfect.:)

  • Haha thats true :-D

Right now I'm having some knee problems and I want to go to China to volunteer at a school probably next year. The thing is,from what I remember 8 years ago when I went to China, so many places had only squat toilets. It's REALLY hard to squat or kneel without hurting and the last thing I'd want is to be stuck in a foreign country without a toilet to use. And I've been told that its going to be a long term type of pain. I guess there isn't much awareness for disabilities.

  • @jess1541 Sorry to hear of your knee problems Jess.Sad to hear of your news, hope your not in too much pain,or having troublw walking.

I found alot of more upmarket places in China,ie,resturants, shops, airports had a couple of western bowls also.

Its according where the school is,if its out of the big cities it be just squats I guess. Its according how modern it is also.

I wish you alot of luck with your knee, and if you do this trip.

Your welcome to my advice anytime,if you need it.xx

I think it's like inflammation in the joint or something and I've been told there isnt much that can be done at this stage. And it might be a year or more before it doesn't hurt anymore. The school isn't that new and it's on the outskirts of town. Because of the lack of disability awareness, most places might not even have elavators either which won't be too helpful for me.

I guess it's just better I dont go.

  • @jess1541 So sorry to hear that Jess, but a wise choice,as I agree out of town places in China, dont have as much disabilty awareness,as in our countries.

I guess also if it was just stairs only and squats,it might make your knee worse.

Hopefully your get the chance for an oppunity like this in the future but at a more newer building.xx

  • The handle on top of the pipe is for flushing I think.Nice design.

  • I tryed the handle Marco..no luck. There was a notice in english on filling a pot to flush. The pot was missing though.

I like the green flooring surrounding the toilet.

Sadly horrible to use,and ackward on a moving train to but one of my favourites as its so different.
