  • cool one i like it!!!!!

  • yeah...he was a little fuzzy on what songs he used which, but having owned a few voxs the keys were bad on the early Italian ones, later they were made by Thomas organ and were better, I had a super Continental double keyboard where he had just a cont. I notice you have a black top bass, you probably know you can go online to ebay theres a company taht custom makes the sparkle top so you can really be authentic...also he had one with chocolate tolex

  • Nice big respect to the ones who can play organ and the bass at same time

  • to clarify, Im talking about the Ed Sullivan show and on the first doors album

  • its a Gibson portable

, not Farfisa or Vox....he used both later but not on the first album...not only do I own one but I know him personally and I can see the organ on the clip.

  • he used a Gibson organ for this song both on tv and studio

  • @watcher9987 I was thinking that, according to a Ray Manzarek interview that I saw, that on the recorded version of "Light My Fire", he used the Vox Keyboard but eventually switched to the Gibson/Lowrey organ because the Vox's keys were prone to breaking, causing Ray to go to the Gibson/Lowrey one.

  • great!!!!:))

  • holy.....!! nicely done..

  • Absolutely stellar. One of the best videos I've ever seen on YouTube. I'm just like you.... can't read a note but i can play keys, guitar and drums at an extremely high level for some odd reason. Bottom line: nearly everyone performing live must play from memory---memory is the 'great equalizer'.

  • I bet you play some pretty mean Bach as well. Nothing like playing Albertti bass riffs!

  • I dont' care what others say. This is true magic.I am in awe.Light My Fire' is a song that I never grow tired of.I too,am self taught on guitar and keyboard. You are such an inspiration.

  • Nice work! very original!

  • Nice work and dito television! ;)

  • Best organ ever built. I wish I could afford and buy one

  • Gee I just love this sound!

  • Some things where missed at the end such as when Jim is saying " you know when it would be untrue" Ray plays it a higher chord. Also Ray plays it tighter. This is a good start , but you have a lot of work to do if you or any one can really get it truly right.

  • I love it when an artist hits it dead on. Some artist like to change it to make it "theirs". THANK-YOU very much for hitting this one dead nuts on. Wonderful playing, you have a lot of talent and I hope you continue. BTW I owned a genuine Vox Super Continental in the 70's and your playing brings back a lot of memories. THANKS !

  • WESSERPARAQUAT2,

Are those overtones I hear at :07 and :08? Maybe it's just the sounds bouncing from the organ and sound from the computer speakers...

In any case, wonderful playing, thank you for bringing these great tunes/tones to our ears!

p.s. Your Soundgarden stuff is great too, keep it up.

  • lololol I have an Uncle Fred who has a stack of Doors albums in his mom's basement, but he plays guitar and doesnt live there... (There used to be a bunch of old organs down there, but they were sold and given away before I started playing, and I would bet cash there was a Vox down there)

  • dush bag

  • WOW!!!! That was fantastic!!!! I was just browsing through You Tube and I just stumbled on your video - I have to say this is one of my all time favorite songs and you nailed it. I just love to see people play vintage instruments. You just can't replicate the Vox organ with modern synths. Can you do the whole uncut album version?

  • Ray would be proud :D

  • Nevermind the comments that you get my friend, you know how good you are , and I know (I've been playing for a lot longer than you and believe me your MUCH better LOL) how good you are. When you kick an empty can, it makes a hollow empty sound.......just like some of the comments you've recieved. People are entitled to their own opinion...even if they are WRONG ...keep up your awesome playing, I really envy you those awesome voxes.....they beat the crap out of my Moog and Rolands......Cheers M8.

  • muito bom!!!
