TVS had to make programs meridian did not. so the "southern" identity went and now there are hundreds of chanels fighting for what advitising revenue there is so now ITV is against the wall these are sad times, but TV must move on. the 80's was a great time to be in tele.
Well sounds like TVS was a great TV for u guys in the South...but like TSW was in the South West.... They both may have gone from ITV... but they will never be forgotton!!!! RIP TVS and TSW
Meridian Television was never good as TVS anyone agree? What happened to Mike Debens who used to read the news for the South-east edition of Coast to Coast?
The Theme has Catchphrase, Ruth Rendal Mysteries, Ident music and Coast to Coast theme in it. I got the whole prog on DVD I'll upload in chunks as soon as!

I wish I could turn the clock back to when TVS was still with us and see this special farewell show in full and I wish hadn't leave the Isle of Wight and returned to Exeter.
Or maybe when the US ceases analog television on February 17, 2009, we get another TV special like this one, but broadcasted live on analog AND digital TV and has the story of analog TV and the digital television transition. And the final 2 minutes of the special could be the final 2 minutes of analog television. And then, many cameras or VCRs might record it, and it could go on YouTube days later. GREAT idea, right? You THINK it's a great idea? And it'll go on YouTube three days or weeks later.
NEW PLAN. It's now June 10th, since they re-scheduled the digital television transition to June 10, 2009! Now that is a better idea than February 17, 2009!
Hard to think it's been 11 years since TVS, Thames and TSW all were taken off the air. I was only a kid back then, but still those 11 years seem to have gone by very, very quickly.

year's chime to 1993,then a promotional movie for
Meridian called Meridian-The First 10 Minutes aired
