  • Nice

    .

  • Great fun.

  • Best answer I've heard to #5.

  • 1) He's omniscient, he can read my mind.

    2) Nope. I don't even know how he could prove to Himself that he's actually all-powerful/knowing/etc.

    3) I don't care. Atheism is different from skepticism.

    4) None, except making sure theists don't mess with my schools and legal system.

    5) I don't care.

    Done!

  • With the verve we've come to expect! Boatster FTW!

Nix ~ huh huh huh, Angelina? nice.

  • Best answers ever!

    ;)

  • PT Boat, you are no A-hole.

I had to do that to be honest, in more ways than one.

  • LOL Great answers. ^^)

  • Not much has changed, because you were never a Christian in the first place. To be a Christian is to live amid the experience of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. And this condition is permanent. There is no such thing as a former Christian. You were just a liar then, and you're a liar now. That's what hasn't changed!

  • As I said, false beliefs can be dangerous.

Apparently, it can corrode your brain.

James 4:11: "Do not speak evil against another".

I guess that we should keep each other company when we are burning in hell.

Fortunately, I was able to realise there is no such thing so I'll live my life in happiness.

  • PT109Boat:

You're a very strange fellow. And in regard to Christianity, you're willfully confused and ignorant. What you have found in atheism is just a better way to serve YOURSELF. And so, in that case, of course Christianity didn't suit the devil in you! Of course you weren't "happy," on your own false and shallow terms.

    God bless. ...

  • Considering the devil only killed 10 people compared to gods 35 million kills, Id say it's a safer bet to have the the devil in you than a self serving mass genocidal murder who forces you to love him via fear. You of course will brush off the 35 million dead people as gods will and continue to ignore it so you can stay in your very fragile bubble made of your fictional Jesus semen. That being said you should jump in fire.

    God bless. . . .

I learned that from you, a loving christian.

  • EnervatedSociety:

You're better at poetry than statistics. ...

In fact we human beings do have a lot to answer for, in regard to how we've POLITICIZED our intuitions of God. And so, POLITICS is the problem, not God. And now what is an atheist but entirely political? He is politics incarnate, nothing but gratutious spite and willful confusion. I stand with the worst Christian before I stand with the best atheist. At least the worst Christian is not entirely political.

    God bless. ... : )

  • what do you mean an atheist is entirely political? what is your reason for claiming such an audacious claim?

the worst christian would force his bullsit upon politics.

of course you would stand with the worst christian than with the best atheist. you have a bias like that.

  • SCRulerShinoda:

It's not obvious to you that you're entirely political? Your whole life, one of advantaging yourself and judging others? The logic is automatic. Everything apart from God is politics. If you're apart from God, then you're entirely political. That said, the way in which religionists POLITICIZE GOD is an absolute crime. But atheists are in no position to look down on religionists in this regard.

I assure you that the experience of God results in something more than a bias.

  • so youre automatically writing off the struggles of life as just politics?

andd how can 'the experience of god' be anything but? its just the misunderstanding of euphoria or the third man phenomena as something divine. religion is nohing but politics.

  • SCRulerShinoda:

I'm impressed with you. Usually I say stuff like this, and atheists need for me to back up a million miles. But you seem at once to have some grasp of what I'm talking about.

If the experience God can be written off as a mere psychological phenomenon, then that's all the more reason for you to seek this experience out. Why not? Have some FUN with your mind! Some EXTREME fun. What the hell? You only live once! And then just walk away from it all - laughing ... if you can.

  • indeed.

But my mind's fucked enough, and if I have too much fun with it, it might get worse. lol

besides, I already had this kind of fun, and then some. I'm too focused on making the best of the probability paths I have for this life.

  • SCRulerShinoda:

Just remember, as all paths available to you lead to dissatisfaction, which is the discovery of all men in all places at all times, you have always an option, a way up and out, the ulitmate path that all of us should've taken from the start.

    God bless. ... : )

  • Thanks. I needed to roll my eyes today. lol

  • I think you're mistaken. Organized religion is all politics. For example, christianity used to believe the earth was the center of the universe. They accepted that it wasn't only when the evidence against it became overwhelming. Now most christians will agree that the earth does revolve around the sun. What this means is that christians had a policy change.

It's the same thing with everything else. Abortion, contraception, prayers-in-schools, whatever. All politics.

  • n3rdm4n:

My observation, as an experiencer of God, and a seeker to keep that experience pure, is that the politics is in each us, an inherent part of our individual make-up. Politicizing our intuitions of God is a natural liability of our species. And it might be what dooms us. All religions survive despite themselves. The metaphor of God that Christ left us with, a God brutally sacrificed to our political impulses, is the most profound message EVER sent to this world that STILL doesn't get it.

  • It was the policy of god to make that sacrifice.

  • n3rdm4n:

According to politicized Christians! Yes. And so they've been grossly mishandling Christ's Legacy from the start, proving exactly His point. Hardly anyone's eyes are open to the COMPLETE MESS of this world as Christ saw it. But to realize these things is actually not a scary proposition at all. It's a joyful one. A lot of sacred irony in that! To see the world as the absolute thoroughgoing MESS that Christ saw it as is NOT to go mad! It's to get closer to Him. And in Him is all Joy.

  • Thank you for proving my point. You ignored the 35 and wrote off as god will. You people are IMO sic. I could never worship anything that is responsible for the death of 35 million people. The politics of atheists, laughable. Changing the subject is your only tactic. You have a problem with people serving themselves? Ha! WTF do you think you're doing? Are you not trying to ensure your way into "heaven"? Here you are judging all of us. Hypocrite! Go fuck yourself ,you backward thinking asshole.

  • EnervatedSociety:

You really are a poet! Got no grasp of any facts, and probably don't care to develop one. But you do have a certain power and flow, with which you might be able to do something, if you were to straighten yourself out.

    God bless! ... : )

  • God is politician #1.

Do x, y or z, go to hell. That's a policy no matter what.

Regarding joy, I find no joy in christ. Seriously. I find joy in my loved ones mostly. A bit in computer games. God is just a primitive version Big Brother and religious texts are primitive versions of Orwell's 1984.

Reason makes you as free as reality allows.

  • n3rdm4n:

It's gonna come to you sometime as an epiphany: Ahhhhh! God exists apart from all POLITICAL CONCEPTIONS of Him. And so, making that clear distinction will be the moment when your thinking starts to organize itself along much more truthful and productive lines.

  • Do something for myself? Wonder why I have so much time to fuck off on YT? I'm F'n loaded. I've accomplished what most families don't accomplish in their entire generation. Obviously facts are of no concern to you. You believe in magic and magic does not exist. You substitute belief for fact when they have nothing to do with each other. You sub faith for truth. You have a fear, a virus of old that you can't shake. You're admittedly, a slave to mans superstition. Keep digging.

  • EnervatedSociety:

Wow. - I hope you develop your poetic gift before you suffer a stroke!

I might have to say an actual prayer for your lying self. ... : )

  • How can god exist apart from political conceptions? Morals are policy. God supposedly gives us morals. God is politics, now THAT is an epiphany.

Also, feel free to pray as much as you like, it is 100% truth that you can' t hurt anything doing that.

  • n3rdm4n:

I'm FLOORED by your question! What a way to start the morning. You REALLY can't conceive of things like Purity and The Absolute w/o the corruptive admixture of politics, of advantaging oneself and judging others? Have you never been LOVED? But you do bring up an interesting point, regarding the sort of morals Pure Spirit inspires. Ordinary Christians are almost clueless. But advanced practitioners of Zen are onto it. All that God in His Purity cares about is MINISTERIAL EFFECTIVENESS.

  • I can conceive purity: interstellar vacuum :). Well, you still have radiation and whatnot, but there's just 3 molecules of H2 per cubic meter, matter-wise that' s about as good as it gets. The Absolute? Light speed, of course!

And loved? Well, I'm -sure- you would posit that god loves me. Maybe even yourself! In some way anyhow.

I would agree about the ministerial effectiveness. Sounds SO bureaucratic. Just like god!

  • n3rdm4n:

Whew. - An image just flashed through my mind ... one of a skull that is empty but for moths and cobwebs.

You've done QUITE a number on yourself! - to achieve such a state of intellectual sterilization ... and virtual soullessness.

PLEASE be sure to get to church tomorrow! - and pick a wild noisy CRAZY one ... so maybe to bring your dusty corpse back to life.

    God bless. : D

  • Given that souls do not seem to exist, soullessness seems like the natural affair of things to me. Just like anyone's head turning into an empty skull after death.

And thank you, I feel quite alive. Going out to a VERY noisy church in a bit. They call these 'raves', and the celebration appears to be just celebrating life itself.

You should go to one of these churches and, well, get an -actual- life :).

    God be less.

  • n3rdm4n:

Have a good time at the party.

    : D

My nieces talk about raves as a spiritual experience. And that's all I ask for, just a lil' spiritual awareness in people, as it goes a long way and leads to big things.

  • The problem -may- be how you define spirituality. Spirit seems to me as opposite to material. So basically spirit is the information created and stored in brains. Everyone is spiritual in that sense. Can't be anything but, really.

  • n3rdm4n:

First, humbly admit that the FULL nature of Reality is beyond our capacity to understand, or even to experience. Second, bravely decide to plunge yourself into the issue of Reality, unafraid to make mistakes. God requires humility and courage of us. Now you can start the process of ALLOWING Reality to reveal more of itself to you. Spirituality is a process. Everyone's approach to it is different. And religious politicians are trying to control the OUTCOME of your personal adventure!

  • Oh, that's immediately evident. The universe contains in the order 10^87 elemental particles. A brain holding something in the order of 10^28 particles can never experience the full contents of reality.

I, and everyone else, is immersed in reality. Reality is all that is, we have no choice in this matter. The concept of plunging into that through which I'm already treading in ins a bit silly. Reality will reveal itself to me whether I like it or not, my choice on the matter is very limited.

  • n3rdm4n:

Actually we have a tremendous power to lie to ourselves and deceive ourselves, a power to POLITICIZE our personal take on Reality. But in fact the Truth wins out in the end, even very roughly. The Universe is founded on Truth and is very much bigger than we are. So it's a good spiritual idea, in order to minimize the hurt of our inevitable loss, to practice OPENNESS to the Truth now, in all its Purity, no matter WHAT that costs us, in terms of the lying that all of us CHERISH.

  • I think I agree on some of that, I think. Whatever happens in the universe is undeniably true. Even a human lie is a truth, in the sense that they're a product of the universe carrying on following it's unbreakable rules.

The rest, well, you lost me :).

  • n3rdm4n:

And you're actually onto something I wasn't going to get into ... about how the logic of the universe endlessly folds onto itself.

Hey - when it's time for your epiphany ... it'll happen. - I was the most virulent atheist imaginable ... when I got thrown for a loop you wouldn't believe. - When it's time for you to get into this stuff ... you'll just find yourself there. - You mightn't understand why ... or have any idea what's going to happen. - But you'll be CHANGED in a flash.

  • The universe appears self-contained and pretty much self explanatory so far. Which conforms to my materialistic world view. Nope, no life altering anything so far.

  • n3rdm4n:

It appears CONVENIENTLY so to you because this is how your political agenda NEEDS it to be. And so it goes with ALL us of, as our different takes on Reality JUST happen to correspond with what our political agendas NEED it to be. What an AMAZING coincidence. But when you drop your expectations and just let the Universe speak for itself, it'll blow you away. This is a necessarily mystical attitude. Don't let your one shot at life pass you by without seeking this kind of enrichment!

  • Well, it stands to reason. If you're gay it would be crazy to back an anti-gay agenda. If you're a homophobe, it would be crazy to back a gay-friendly agenda. Nothing really surprising.

  • n3rdm4n:

If you're anti-God, then the universe appears by some AMAZING COINCIDENCE to be godless. If you're for an authoritarian and moralistic God, then you're not even looking at Reality, but a Book of ancient documents of questionable merit. The world's a mess, because no one ever REALLY levels with himself. And before we ever get it right as a species, some great event will probably overtake us, and that will be the end of that. So set yourself apart, through the pure experience of God.

  • I'm not anti-god or pro-god. I don't have a vested interest in things being one way or the other. It's just that evidently something that might be called a god does not exist or if something like it does, it does absolutely nothing to the point of appearing perfectly non-existing.

The world's not a mess. The world works pretty well. Famines are not a common occurrence anymore, for example. Diseases aren't rampant. War is the exception rather than the ordinary. Things are looking up, IMO.

  • n3rdm4n:

That's a good outlook. I'm not sure how accurate it is! But I hope you're right. And in any case I was talking about the nitty-gritty, where-the-rubber-meets-the-road aspects of life.

Meanwhile, I'm calling the Smithsonian right now. I'm sure they'll want to set you on display: The World's Only Person Without Any Political Ax to Grind!

    : D

Holy crap, maybe I've been replying to Jesus all this while!

  • LOL, I -do- have big political axes that I'd like to grind, but I don't, my nose's the one meeting the road at this point of life, so I've got things to take care.

As for being jesus, I do have the bear, but not the commitment. Or the parenting!

  • i cant believe you sniffed the pants .. i hope they were clean lmao
