In case you are interested or didn't know and for all your viewers, This is a Gray Hoverman UHF Antenna. Now it works pretty descent on VHF too, but it is tuned for UHF. Another good design is the 4-Bay or 8-Bay antenna. Here is a link for some information including plans to build them. m4antenna.eastmasonvilleweatherdotcom You could also use reflectors to improve reception in a specific direction. These are both real solid designs that will give excellent performance.
here in Britain we could do that but not with out a free view box due to digital switch over which they give no reason for, fucking douche bags just want to charge you more and more and more and more and you not what i wouldnt be so pissed if they gave a reason but they don't, gone are the days when you could buy a tv, make ur thing then get the basic channels and people calls this PROGRESSION wasaaaaaaaaaaaaaat
we stream and use local DTV signals for WX, etc... and pay for stream of premium business news and das it. About 13 bucks a month - as compared to the $150.00 plus we paid for many years for crap we hated, or did not watch.
With use of the digital converter box, I'm getting free channels through the rabbit ears that came with my 20 year old Sony television, although I've considered an special antenna purchase because I know there is atleast one other set of stations I'm not getting.
Cable pricing is an absolute rip off.. and you end up watching 40% advertising or more. Such a waste of time. If your lucky you can sometimes find public open Internet signals, or borrow *hint* hint* from a friend to stream the video content you need, or just use free public HD channels like this guy has done, well done. We all have to start cutting corners to put more into our preps.. it will take some adjustment.. but it can be done with little effort.
@mastershakelock Your absolutely right, out of the 100 plus channels we currently have, I use maybe about 10 of them... I would much rather stream from netflix through my xbox360 for $9 a month, and watch the free local channels for news, etc... But trying to get my wife fully on board is going to be tougher than any WROL situation... lol Thanks for the comment..

With most of the TV shows that are on cable. You can get on zune and
they are commercial free. Another thing Xbox Live 1600 Points Card
will get you a lot of tv shows cheap.
