  • They're great!

  • Old Hippies Man! Hippies!

  • You know its one thing to do a studio cut where everything is perfect, but to do a live performance, and pull off like this and a testament to the talent in this family. Especially 40 something years later. Keep going Cowsills we love you!!!

  • I didn't think they were gonna pull it off when it began, but they did.

  • Love how susan still does her "spaghetti YEP!!"

  • Judging by there dress down, I'm guessing this is rehursel. Great voice though and one of my favorite songs.

  • @mustangmooney21 Probably not a rehearsal. I just saw them last week. Very dressed down group.

  • They still have it. We have all aged since back in the day. They have aged no worse or better than anyone else. I also enjoy Susan's solo work. I have and will pay to see them again and Susan's solo work.

  • Their voices are amazing after all these years. And this song was a monster hit for sure.

  • These people sound GREAT.

  • go Cowsills go...

Note to Susan: "will you still love me when I'm 64" you sang at the Flamingo in '69... I still do and hope to see theCowsills in Montreal within the next 5 months or so! Pls post your venues on facebook.

  • I heart that the Cowsills teeth were to bad for tv.

  • the story i heard was;

-disney-producers,came to the cowsill's,and offered them a show, but with SHIRLEY JONES as momma..the boys felt it wasn't fair to ditz the woman who stood behind them all those years, and turned them down..

--well,in true "hollywood" fasion, they sent out a "cattle call",for talent(just like "the monkees" was a ripoff of "the beatles"),and produced "the partrige family..

  • Despite the attrition of members, they sound solid and as good as on the slickly produced record. Great group, great song.

  • HAIR forever linked to the COWSILLS. What a megahit. this beloved family was on top onlya few short years & sadly we lost most of them but its good to see we still have the remaining band & memories to cherish by. this doo wop rocknroll historian knows of what he speaks. HAIR is a MEGAHIT. Thanks Cowsills. We got the Partridge Family because this great group Cowsills. was there at the time, imagine the Cowsills doing that tv series.? always your devoted fan & follower Cowsills. Bless you. TOMK

  • thats susan cowsill

  • Great song!

  • Back in the day I saw The Cowsills several times-- Steel Pier, Atlantic City NJ in 1970, Topsfield & Fitchburg MA , Fonda NY, Essex Junction VT in 1971, Stamford CT Jan, 1972

My dad would drive me and my BFF to all these shows-he was always the best dad. He struck up conversations with Barbara at several of these shows and still remarks on it now.

.They sounded great then and they sound great now---a truly talented group.

  • gosh i wish i could see them.....great

  • yeah,Frank :)

  • I stand corrected FRANK!!! Didn't realize there was a SPELLING NAZI here!!! Peace!!

  • it wont get any better than this, folks, thank you, utube, (annieroro), ( current technology is being put to good use) they doo sound good!

  • Yes its wonderful to see them together!! They defintely had some family tragedies loosing Barry to Katrina and then Bill loosing his long Battle. They are defintely one of my favorites of the the LOVE and PEACE generation!!

  • Please! It's losing, not loosing!!!

  • I think it's so cute on the recording when Susan sang "and spaghetti'd!" lol Because it'd be just like a little kid to have angel hair pasta on the brain instead of actual hair.

  • What were the tragedies? I never heard of anything that happened to any of them.

  • You're kidding right?

  • No, actually I was serious but thanks for your "no" answer. That's alright though, lala answered it.

  • A few of them have passed away; a couple just in the last few years. One of them was caught in the floodwaters of Katrina and died there....

  • @iciavosser Actually, it was Barry Cowsill who passed on in the wake of the awful storm in 2005.

His brother Billy lost his battle with emphysema

in 2006, just as the surviving Cowsills were

    preaparing for Barry's memorial.

Despite the passings of Barbara, Barry, and Billy, The Cowsills still have the superb youthful harmonies as

they did back in the 60's.

And even to this day, their music is excellent,

    especially this classic

counterculture hit and one of my all-time favorites....."Hair".

  • Oh oh oh where's the second part of this song????? Anyhow many thanks!

  • back in 1972,we won a band contest because of this song..we practiced the blending, timing and everything ..we had a susan too who did the part "and spaghetti!!"..we won 1st prize.. im looking forward to the day when the group will do this song again..the best part of this music is the background blending and the beat itself-mixed with a little patriotic flavor with the inclusion of few lines of "the star-spangled banner"..i get teary-eyed everytime i listen to this classic hit..thank you.

  • SO they CAN do those wonderful harmonies live! I didn't think they could...thanx for posting. (Pass the humble pie!)

  • You thought they only lip sinch? You watch the Partridge Family too much. Unfortunate parallel with the Cowsills and the Five Man Electrical Band is their hair is shorter nowadays. When I went to the 5-Man concert they started out "And the sign said 'long haired freaky people need not apply' " when they were all with short hair now - it's not QUITE the same. Ah well. Just like songs that mention RECORDS etc, they're premanently dated but forever fun.

  • The Cowsills are coming to Casino Regina on Sept 5 and the Mae Wilson Theatre in Moose jaw on Sept 6. The Cowsills are wonderful.

  • Wow they still sound great!

  • The Cowsills & Jay And The Americans are playing The Palace Theatre Marion Ohio on Oct 4. Its less than one hour from Columbus.

  • I performed this song (with a long wig on ) in my 6th grade music class in 1969. Didn't know they were still performing.

  • Going to see The Cowsills in NYC at BB Kings on July 28.

  • Lucky dawg ! Make sure to give us a report on it when you see it.

  • The Cowsills were absolutely fantastic 7-28-08 in nyc. They sang We Can Fly, Hair, The Rain The Park, Poor Baby, Most Of All, Be My Baby, Monday Monday, I Think I Love You, Indian Lake, and many more. All three (Susan, Paul & Bob) have great voices. It was a superb show. I read on their website that Cowsills are playing in Las Vegas Aug 23 with Vanilla Fudge & Electric Prunes. Wow!

  • I saw them perform this at "The Heart Of Illinois Fair" in Peoria,Ill. in July 1970!

  • Nice!

  • like the grateful dead great song

  • awesome!

  • wow they're still great!

  • got any others from this show

  • This is fab!

  • HAIIIIIIRRRRRRRRR!!!!
