Your computers Crash and your tech support stinks. People do not worry about the specs. These computers mess up. My computer fan stop working. I can change the fan myself, but they will not sell it to me. They are trying to force me to send it in. And there tech support would have you waiting over over 45 mins in some cases. And they will not even tell me how much it would be to for them to fix it
Crappy sound. My Toshiba from 4 year ago still sound 10 times better even after I tried tweaking the Asus NV61. Don't believe this ad about the sound. Machine looks stylish but too many annoying lights. Appearance 9/10. Functional Design 7/10. Sound 6/10/ Lights -5/10 Pleasant to Use +5/10
Beautiful machine except for the annoying side lights that will get you beaten up on a flight. Sound quality of the speakers is quite poor for today's standard. I bought one on sale from Anitec with a no refund policy. I was disappointed. The sound is no better than the average laptop from 5 years ago. The dumbest thing is the default settings make them sound worse. With some tweaking you can at least hear radio quality sound. Far from the real sounds they advertise.
I have this.I lve it so much. its a good work horse and plays any current pc game title pretty much flawlessly, or a least the games are still very playable (mass effect 2 - okok its a port, but still..)
screen is really glary though, and you have to be in a 'right' position for perfect ipicture quality. but the sheer power of this is great.
Thanks for improving the sound quality. As a long time ipod abuser, it is very important for me to have better than average quality speakers nowadays with hearing damage. A step in the right direction. Thanks Asus. Love you.
The claim for the Altec Lansing speakers are fake. I bought the UL80V last week and the speakers are absolutely and unbelievably awful. It sounds worst than the cheapest speakers that you can find anywhere. Absolutely terrible speakers on an otherwise excellent notebook. Try the speakers out before you buy the notebook. I wonder if Altec Lansing knows that Asus is not using their speakers on the notebook and just the branding!
