Harley Forty Eight before/after vance & hines big radius pipes

Why did you choose the big radius pipes over short shots or straight shots? I would appreciate it a lot of if you were able to give me some insight.

Not to discourage your video...but the pipes are v&h BIG RADIUS 2 into 2's and not short shots. Good news is...big radius look and sound better on a sporty! Not down playing anything just sayin! I'm gettin mine on my sporty 1200 custom as we speak and mine are chrome. Love the v&h, who doesn't right?? Nice ride and nice video man!

@Syrius187 i installed them myself. i'll be getting a new video on here soon. just recently did a wire tuck, coil/ignition relocation, z-bars, air cleaner, and will be getting it tuned next week.

Antontonce, nice bike! I just got my forty-eight a couple weeks ago and I'm already looking to put some new pipes on it.

Did you just bolt on the pipes yourself, or did you have HD tune it? How much $ was it total? The guys at HD want me to get a new air intake and a tuner for an awesome total of $1600 including all the parts and labor :\

@fkopitzke the pipes were 560$ shipped. i bought a customized air cleaner from the guys at figure engineering for $210 shipped. i will put up a new video soon. i bought a TTS master tuner from performance choppers for $450 i think. and i received a free program from mikey at performance choppers from a tune job he did on a nightster with short shots and an air cleaner. so 1600$ isn't bad but you will want to buy all your parts somewhere else cheaper and tune it somewhere else too.

@fkopitzke oh and it was just bolt on, but apparently the forty eight is slightly different than other sportsters. i had to do some extra drilling on the holes on the mounting bracket of the pipes and on the holes of the back plate of the air cleaner. not hard.. but make sure you are careful.

@amogdik yes there are baffles. they're pretty loud. on a scale of 1 to 10 i would say 7 or 8 depending on how hard you're getting on the throttle. maybe 7.5 to 8.5
