1979 our oil conteract with oil comanys is over and than WE deside what to do with our oil (shah answer the journalist Q / 1973) ....1979 revolution / !! west has to shame ,what did to iranian people .....h.
He explains everything very nicely as it happened. he is right, democracy died in Iran after overthrowing Mosaddeq. Shortsightedness of US government at that time and stupidity of Shah (king) of Iran.
"with the people" Oh yes, most historians beg to differ.
And fact is,that the CIA and the MI6 installed a oppressive dictator for their own interests and that the revolution against the corrupt Shah was supported by many many parts of the society. You wont be able to discuss that away, moron.
Oh please, since (Reza Chan)Pahlevi came '21 Iran was the bitch of the Britains. The iranien parlamento decided to nationalize the oil,not the Shah. And as Mossadegh got elected twice, the British and the American overthrowed him in Operation Ajax.
After that, the president couldnt start any reforms without the permission of the Shah. And the nationalization of the oil got deleted of course.
I see how "democratic" it was under the Schah and how "glad" the people were under him.
"What he says and has written about is nothing but lies amied at keeping our people away from 2500 years of Monarchy".
What a BIG time piece of shit. Who again stood against the Schah ? Yes, the people. And someone who claims, that the MI6 and CIA didnt have anything to do with the overfrowing of the elected president is just on drugs or a liar.
Search KOSHER TAX to see how you are being ripped off by militant Rabbis when you buy products. Millions of your dollars are being taken by Zionists without your knowledge.
Iran has never enslaved Africans like The West did.
Iran has never passed Racial Segregation laws against foreigners like The West did.
The "Superior" Western culture = pornography, slavery, colonization, Hiroshima, The Holocaust, Apartheid, Native American reservations, and women used like sexual objects at every level of the market system.
What Iranians do to themselves and say, makes me MADDER! just look at the comments. Kinzer understands what a great person mossadegh was but Iranians call him traitor. You Iranians deserve any shitty government that oppress you. you are just bunch of retarded morons with science degrees !!!!! when I see these people I feel ashamed for being Iranian. Maybe I should just give it up but figures like mossadegh and bazargans stop me!
Yes, Mossadegh was an great man and greatest gift to Iranians, but please note that real Iranians don't call him traitor, only bunch of retards shahollahi call him names, but who cares what those idiot ass kissers say or do. Their corrupt and criminal masters (Pahlavies)
where are these real persians ur talking about!?? Majority of ppl who used to kiss shah's ass and are not kissing mullahs' asses ... real persians are very few and i dont think they will be able to rule the country cuz its filled with hypocrites, liars and greedy ppl ... I was born and lived in Iran and studied Iran's history I do NOT think the situation would get better!

(PART ONE)>Do not try to make shah out of the equation.Shah and his family are the main cause of mullah's taking control over people's brain. After all when he was in power for so long what did he do for people to know more about their culture and their proud history. He was not brave enough to stand in front of mullahs even 10 years or five years befor the revolution.(Countinued)

- Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, October 3, 2001.
I was in tehran at that exact time- where is YOUR evidence for all this- were you on the streets in tehran???-I don't think so, most foreigners were long gone by then...
it's YOUR theory that's in dream land- thinking carter sent huyser there to foment a coup!! badrei's BROTHER was my neighbor in the bay area- and what I told you was from his mouth-
-huyser gave badrei a written order for army to stand down, and he refused to sign it....then he sent the black dude in his office to shoot
In 1953 these people were SOOOO CLOSE to their Elites (likes of Mosaddeq) to form a movement and an alliance for their independence ...
No one can ever be sure Iranians could successfully develop a secular democracy based on that movement, But US did for sure take away the great OPPORTUNITY of the time !
Now we should wait and see when again the Majority and the Elites come together in belief in a firm cause !
and again fear who's going to intervene this time !
Did you ever bother TRYING to talk to someone in a mosque? or bother more ... to someone in some poor villages far from the capital ?
You might probably find them totally different from me ! not being able to speak ANY English or French ! not having a degree ! Acting so anxious of meeting a foreigner ! and you may find the only reason they are unhappy with the regime is ECONOMY !
and like many other countries they know little about history , politics and international affairs !
I am probably one of the kind you may meet in Iran ... speaking good english ... probably even inviting you to a friendly party ... drinking with you and telling you how much I like WESTERN democracy ! and how much I'm suffering these mullahs ruling my + 2500 year old rich civilization !
Yet again, You're missing the point:
I'M NOT MAJORITY ! NEITHER IS THOSE FEW OUTSIDE IRAN, OPPOSING TO IRANIAN REGIME IN SATELLITE TVS FROM THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY ...
And hence think of more than screwd economy ... wanting more and expecting more ... dreaming of some thing defined as freedom of thought ...
and let me tell you again :
IF THESE WERE THE MAJORITY, Iran would never see an Ahmadinejad after a Khatami !
So ... You know Iranians through likes of Shirin Ebadi ... (I like that , and I wish most of iranians today did think the way she does) but the real iran is a bit far from your image of it !
Don't ever think you have contact with the majority of Iranians when you come to Iran.
UNFORTUNATELY most of those who bother to come to our country -no matter if they've come for visiting the Historical Landscapes(!) or those who come for other reasons- are surrounded with the minority of those who are interested in communicating foreigners ... a minority living near fancy hotels , rich parts of the city... a minority who are well fed of course (just like me!)
I'm leaving in Iran and I'm not a pro to the current regime by any means ...
But let me tell you something dear drcollier:
Iran might be in a bad status today,
Many might not like the fanatic acts of Ahmadinejad's cabinet,
Economic crisis, corruptions, and mis-managements must have surely contributed to the unpopularity of Mullahs ...
BUT
WHAT MR KINZER SAYS HERE IS WHAT I ALSO BELIEVE AS AN IRANIAN and not just me , almost all of those who have read some history and think deeply about it.
Excellent review of the facts. US & Western Intervention is the reason Iran is a theocracy and not a democracy today. And the only reason they want into Iran is OIL.
The US & Western powers need to mind their own business and stay out of the middle east.
The world is too dangerous. If governements and corporations who run them aren't controlled by their citizens, who live in so called "democratic" societies then the world is in big trouble.

He has everything right up until he discusses Mossadegh and Pahlavi Monarchy. Mossadeg was arrested for treason by Reza Shah. He as a double agent and served the British. He was divisive and supported communism. Why is he agrandized for the Iranian public where as the Shah and his father served Iran? Because Mossadeg was a traitor while the Shah was the true nationalist

god bless america for overthrowing the communist lover mosadeq. mosadeq's vicitory at that time would be tantamount to iran's falling under the influence of the USSR...
America also removed the Shah of Iran in 1978-79, were you to wake up. As a result of that, Iran right now is beholden to Moscow and Beijing, and threatened with destruction by Israel and the US, who are threatened by Moscow and Beijing. Best to know and understand history rather than spouting nonsense on here, you moron.
Who paved the path for Khomeini? Who got rid of the Shah? Who sold weapons to Iran during Iran/Iraq war? Who is supporting the existence of the Islamic regime in Iran now? Is it the same culprits or not? Answer the questions that are in motion today.
Kinzer omits the true facts for the removal of the Shah by the British and Carter Administration. The Shah was removed because he had stablized the middle east, he had brought prospertity and dignity to Iran and its people while he was battleing Briths sponsored terrorism by Isalmic Fundamentalists and Communists (the Brits supported both sides) and with the help of Intelligence agency around the world - the Shah was vilified while Khomine with a rap sheet 1 mile long was presented as a saint.

Kinzer is misrepresenting Mossadeq -- who single accomplishment was to divide Iranians and to strengthen communist party. He was a charalatan from the Qajar Dynasty who wanted to be King. He was a dictator.
The Shah of Iran was a democratic monarch. The truth about Mossadegh is that he had been imprisoned for treason and the Shah of Iran begged his father to pardon him because at the time Iran lacked educated people. The Shah then appointed him Prime Minister - a poor decision on the part of the Shah.
Mossadegh was removed for refusing BP's oil quest in Iran, and was replaced by the Shah. 25 years later, the Shah did the same thing by telling BP to shove it, so he, too was removed, and replaced by Khomeini. The ayatollah then betrayed his Western 'handlers' as well. This is why the UK/US/Israel wish to divide up Iran once and for all: Because regardless of who or what they put in power, they are betrayed by Iranian Nationalism.
It's less the British and more the occult forces operating from within Britain. The next world war will be as much, if not moreso, of an occult war than was the prior world war.
Kinzer is correct about nationalism and British control of Iran's oil industry. However, his facts are wrong about Mossadeq who was never elected prime minister but APPOINTED PRIME MINISTER BY THE SHAH. The Shah of Iran was a democratic and benevolent monarch whose was ousted by the British puppet, Khomeni who promptly returned the oil rights to the British in 1979.
I don't 100% agree but when I was young I sympathised with Mojahedin. We had to collect money on the streets of London like beggars. 6 of us lived in a small flat. Every year we had to sing happy birthday for Masoud Rajavi. We could not question any decisions made by the "leader". Now I have realized in Iran we don't understand democracy. We just learn to obey without any questions. Bahai, Hezbollahi, Shahi, Mojahed they all think the leader is sent from God. I learned my lesson a little late.
Excellent response, faribairan. The Iranians I know would agree with you 150%, because they too *think*. Iranians are a people prone to follow cults, as religion remains the 'opiate of the masses'. Hence why neoCONservatives in the US and UK find the religion-as-opiate model so appealing ;-)
All these individual you name are trained and serve the British government who supports Islamic Fundamentalism and Bhahism. The biggest puppet was Khomeini --half British and Half indian. His father worked for British Petroleum and he trained 3 of his sons to become radical islamic fundamentalists. Go Figure this one --The only true religion in Iran is Zoroasteriansim, Mithraism -- christianity is its off shoot. A true Iran is a secular monarchy. Javid Shah!
In Beverly Hills some of my neighbors are Iranians. They talk about politics like it is 1979 and Shah or his son are going back to Iran at any second. They refer to other Iranians as ignorant peasants and construction workers. Now when I see the comments of Iranians who live out of Iran, I realize why these wealthy people who acquired their wealth by deception and brutality look down to others. They know that ordinary Iranians want to worship an idol even if it means slavery and humiliation.
Your Iranian neighbors buried their heads under sand and can't see or understand the reality of Iranian politics. CIA with help of their corrupt and criminal puppet, Shah of Iran, idiotically with planning of 1953's coup in Iran, has resulted birth of a monster 25 years latter that called Islamic Regime of Iran. This so called Islamic regime, either CIA like it or not, will finally burn interests of entire west in Middle East. Your neighbors are so stupid that can understand it.
You are misinformed somewhat. The Shah was removed by the West for very similar reasons as Mossadegh was before him: Not agreeing with Western oil interests. Read William Engdahl's book, "A Century of War".
Your comparison of a lifelong puppet of Western powers like Shah with an independent minded hero like Dr. Mossadegh is quiet amusing. Shah was not removed by west; west only did get along with removal of Shah at the very end that has had no other options. What disagreement of Shah with west, are you joking? I read your bible book, and certainly find it as much amusing as your comments. It is one of the most unsubstantiated fiction books I ever read.
intelligentpersian, the author Engdahl cites private minutes from Bilderberg meetings as his substantiation of how and why the Shah was essentially removed from power. Read the Shah's memoirs, "Answer to History", for the parallels in sentiments from the Shah himself, as the Shah was convinced that he was removed ungracefully.
By the way, what form of "substantiated proof" would convince you -- CBS and the BBC confirming it like they did the CIA's removal of Mossadegh (which was considered "conspiracy theory" decades ago as well)?!? The US/UK governments admitting to it?!? Have a clue...
By the way, what form of "substantiated proof" would convince you -- CBS and the BBC confirming it like they did the CIA's removal of Mossadegh (which was considered "conspiracy theory" decades ago as well)?!? The US/UK governments admitting to it?!? Have a clue...
You have it reversed my dear. The Shah was removed by the West because he had stabilized the middle east. Mossadegh had committed treason, he was an anglophile, followed Churchill to a tee! He was member of the qajar family and wanted to become King - he was colonialist from beginning to end and served the British purpose of divide and rule. The Shah of Iran was intrinsically Iranian and a true patriot who was disgraced by false reports and propaganda.
You are not informed. The Shah declined BP's request to renew another 25 year energy production deal with Iran, and was getting agressive. The Shah wanted 'payback' for cooperating with Washington in raising oil prices after the 1973 contrived 6 Day War and subsequent oil embargo. Those wanting the Shah removed included George Ball, Brzezinksi and the project's designer, Zbigniew Brzezinski.
You have it right about why the Shah was removed by the British and Brezinski. The Shah was a real nationalist. However, Mossadeg was a phony nationalist - a charlaton - he went against the Shah's orders to let the contract expire.
So, according to your reasoning, Mossadegh would've remained a 'true nationalist' if he allowed BP to rip off Iran?!? Again, the Shah in 1978 did *exactly* what Mossadegh did in 1953 !!! Why is that so hard for you to see? Also, like Hoveyda and plenty of others after him, Mossadegh was a Freemason.
the oil contract with BP was expiring in a few years. Breaking hte contract resulted in millions of pounds in penalities. Also, Mossadeqh shananigans were suspect because he was a supporter of Tudeh party which grew strong during his activities. He was never elected by Iranians as prime minister. The Shah APPOINTED him prime minister. Mossadeg's loyalities were divided. he was a British subject was arrested for treason earlier by Reza Shah. he belonged to Qajar Dynasty -put in power by British.
If Mossadegh was a "British subject", then why did he kick BP out of Iran?!? Also, what difference did it make that he broke the contract rather than let it expire, if the core point was to rid Iran of British domination over the oil sector? Do you think the Shah would've declined a renewal for BP after the contract would've run out? I don't think so. The Shah was loyal to Britain and the West, whereas Mossadegh put his foot down. Your statements are not guided by the historical facts.
I sense after reading many books, transcripts and articles from 30 years ago that the West removed the Shah to replace him with a theocracy ("The Green Belt Theory", if you will), but dropped the ball with the ayatollah khomeini. They might have underestimated the ayatollah's abilities for deception. That's one of two theories I've deduced.
How is the IRI serving "its British and European Colonial Masters"?!? By switching completely away from the dollar in energy trading? By supporting Al Sadr in Iraq? Where is your proof, or are you writing out of blind paranoia like so many Iranians in the West?
I lived in Iran 8 years ago. They live in the past like they are frozen in time. They were talking about Googoosh even though she was 50 yrs then like she was 23! They are still nostalgic about the Shah even though some of them are too young. Can you guys "Move On"? Persian empire is gone. Shah is dead. Communism is dead. Evolution obviously does not apply to Iranians! By sighing about the glories of the past you will not succeed. Only if you use the past as a lantern of guidance for the future.
Hey, sorry I accidentally marked down your comment while I found it very immense and impressive! I think you're quite right that our people can't let things go and improve their mentality about facts and future. I hope it will change someday, but who knows when?
in 1979 Iranians of any anti shah groups were tricked again by the U.s/English/French governments into making another revolution that was in no ways neccecary or needed.
The question is...would you rather want Cultral nationalism or nationalism based on resources alone. Why not have both? and thats where the shah came in.
Anyways Mossadeqh was a weak idiot, most iranians dont like him. the shah presented limited democracy which Iran needed during those dangerous times. The communists and the islamists would diffenetly without a doubt overthrow mossadeqh.
Very TRUE. The U.S. and Britain only want democracies that are their puppets. Democracy is just an excuse to invade countries. If Iraq was a Democracy but anti US, Bush would have still invaded Iraq.
1st ammendment is great as long as you don't say anything against jews! When Carter writes a book and tells the truth they call him a fascist. When McCllelan says anything against Neocons he is a traitor. So as long as you praise Zionists and Neocons you are No.One Poor Obama has to brownnose Zionists and trash his father's faith for Zionists to be elected. These parasite Iranians who lived off the pimp Shah's stolen oil money who no longer can bullshit to live rich are angry. Get a life losers!
Yes Iran was a democracy. that democracy gave the Shah the right to appoint Prime Minsters including the looser Mossadegh. Had Mosadegh remained in power, the Soviet backed TUDEH communists would have taken over Iran, we would have had Khomeini style nightmare under the communists. This Kinder is truly out of his mind. Will the well paid Mullahs lobbyist liar Kinser ever talk about the role Jimmy Carter & the British played in overthrewing the Shah in 1979 & imposing the killer Mullahs on us?
The question is...would you rather want Cultral nationalism or nationalism based on resources alone. Why not have both? and thats where the shah came in.

fraizer57, the theory of a tudeh/commie takeover of Iran under a Mossadegh govt. is entirely speculative. Mossadegh was an Iranian natinalist who, like the Shah after him, was educated in Switzerland. Plus, the Shah was not a democrat, and was ultimately removed by the same power that removed Mossadegh 25 years earlier, and for the EXACT SAME REASONS...
Do you seriously belive this liar Kinser's garbage? Are you realy only 28 years old?
There are many books written by many Iranians on 1953 national uprising.
Kinser is the Mullahs lobbyist. He is a liar & fabricator. Mosadegh was a traitor & the so-called 1979 revolutiopn of Khomeini had nothing to do with the events of 1952.
fraizer 57, you have to ask yourself just *who* khomeini ultimately *was*. Did he genuinely betray his Western handlers? Or was he following the script all along by OKing the seizure of American hostages? That is the mystery of history...
What happened in Iran in 1979, was the result of the British backed revolution that Jimmy Carter forced on us Iranians. So why Kinsers & others are not investigating it. Why 1979 overthrew of the Shah is a taboo in the west. Let me finish my remarks by Ronal Rogans remarks about the overthrew of the Shah of Iran: "What we did to the Shah is a black page in the history of America". Will Kinser explain this?
Carter was actually in the dark about it all. Bernard Lewis was the mastermind behind removing the Shah and replacing him with ayatollahs, and Brzezinski (who's now interestingly backing Obama and wanting to 'engage' Iran) executed the coup/"revolution" against the Shah, with the BBC helping plenty. Read William Engdahl's book, "A Century of War".
"Enemy" is a hypocritical word that's being used to make what capitalist and powerful governments do sound better. We are all part of something that's a lie... Get on with your lives and don't poke at the monsters that rule you idiots.
Who is it that has gained from ALL this war, revolution, death & destruction?
Who are the puppet masters, the deceivers?
Always OUR Sons & Daughters, OUR families die, suffer & PAY with our taxes for THEIR causes likewise the supposed beneficiaries of this democratic allocation of liberty die in their millions.
The enemy is not US, it is not THEM, our enemy hides in between US & THEM.
The enemy you reference are the descendants of the very root of evil that came out of babylon some 3,000 years ago. Recall, however, that Persia defeated Babylon then, and use it as a primer...
He does not mention that the Communist Soviet Army were encamped in the the north of Iran post WW2.
The British forced the COMMUNISTS OUT!
The British & US then joined forces fight the Communist threat and influence in Iran.
"Soviet troops did not withdraw from Iran proper until May 1946 after receiving a promise of oil concessions. The Soviet republics in the north were soon overthrown and the oil concessions were revoked."
This kinzer bloke is a shill and a marxist propagandist.
Yes they should be happy Iran was not subject to the communist/marxist regime.
The British & American governments have been hijacked by zionists, todays geopolitical landscape is as irrelevant to 1953 as the Islamic invasion of Persia and the end of Zoroasterism, is today.
The British & Americans developed the oil fields in Iran.
Obviously the Iranians wanted the oil profits rather than letting oil companies have the lions share.
The fact is Iran would not be the advanced country it is today without the help of the west. That is not meant in anyway to discredit any Iranian self improvement.
The Main conflict at the time was communism against capitalism. Something kinzer fails to mention.
Not everyone in the West believes that Iran is the great enemy that our MSM makes it out to be.
That said, Putin was initially promoted to power by said zionists. Berezovsky is Putin's arch-enemy now because he was Putin's foremost proponent in the late '90s. Or maybe it's all put on for some sick psyops show, and Putin's serving them ultimately despite his seeming nationalism (in order to prevent an outright domestic revolt against the oligarchs of yesteryear).
At the Tehran Conference of 1943, the Tehran Declaration guaranteed the post-war independence and boundaries of Iran. However, when the war actually ended, Soviet troops stationed in northwestern Iran not only refused to withdraw but backed revolts that established short-lived, pro-Soviet separatist national states in the northern regions of Azerbaijan and Kurdistan, the Azerbaijan People's Government and the Republic of Kurdistan respectively in late 1945, both effectively Soviet puppet regimes
They don't tell you *anything* in school, because all the approved history textbooks are funded by private corporate foundations (Rockefeller, Carnegie, etc.). One wonders if people, let alone kids, could handle the brutal truths of history anyway...
Kinzer has the first half of the story right - The Pahlavi's regaining control of the oil from the British. However, the second part about Mossadeq who was a phony nationalist and colluded with the English - he has it wrong. Mossadegh was appointed and never elected prime minister. The Shah was the rightful ruler. The CIA role in supporting the Shah has been exaggerated to the upteenth...Mossadeqe was a phony nationionalist. Without him, Iran would have been a united super power under Pahlavi.
Mossadegh was a charlaton of the 10th degree. His Churchillian antics were so obviously treachoursout -- he has been agrandized for the Iranian people by the British, just as they brought Khomeini the SATAN for Iranians and told them that he is a saint whose picture is in the moon. Khomini was half indian and half british - he had no single drop of Iranian blood. Go Figure this one out! here we have Kinzer telling us that the Shah was oppresive? What bullshit. The Shah was a democratic monarch.
Democratic monarch? Please, don't make me laugh. He was an absolute monarch.
We know through history that absolute monarchies never work ie. in France, Russia, Spain, England etc. That's why many nations have symoblic, constitutional monarchies you ape.
What do you know about THe Shah of Iran? He was democratic, kind hearted, passionate about Iran, and served Iran with all his voojood - life. He left Iran grief struck to see 50 years of construction be destroyed overnight by a mad satanic mullah. He relied on his cabinet to report to him. Unfortunately, he was surrounded by a bunch of ass kissing traitors. why don't you clear out the bullshit anti-Pahlavi propaganda the media has fed you? All lies. Be proud of your King, if you are Iranian.
Lol, then tell me, why couldn't anyone speak up against the government? Where's the Democracy there? Why did SAVAK kill thousands of Iranians who spoke up against his dictatorship?
People had a lot of freedom - and could say what ever they wanted so long as they did not vandalize, destroy, and kill. The stories about SAVAK are exaggerated lies. At most there were 2,500 prisoners and these were individuals who were destructive. SAVAK killed only those who killed innocent Iranians and American business men. Both radical islamic fundamentalists and communists were in the business of killing. These people were arrested and punished. CIA, FBI, and Police do the same here.
Why can't Iranians understand that the Shah was not good, especially after the 1953 CIA engineered coup, and the Islamic Replublic isn't good either.
Why can't Iranians just wake up and figure out that they need self-determination and don't have to choose between two loosing systems of governement.
Also, IT'S OBVIOUS THAT WITHOUT US, Israeli and Western INTERVENTION, I believe that Iranians would get control of their governement and would become a great country again.
Why can't westernerns understand that the Shah was a saint for Iran? Why does the west so vilif Pahlavi Monarchy who rescued Iran out of poverty, backwardness, and restored Iranian pride? It's obvious to me that Western intervention is required to save Iran, restore its 2500 years of secular Monarchy, and to restore Iran's sovereignty. This is a matter between US and Iran, lets keep Israel out of it. Its obvious that Europe and America need to unite to preserve Iranian culture/tradition/history.
How do you know what Iranians want? Are you iranian? A secular Monarchy is an intrinsically Iranian state. Iranians love their king. It is people such as you that poison the minds of Iranians. Monarchy is a beautiful tradition that goes hand in hand with Zoroasterianism, and everything Persian. Are you Jewish? If so, keep your opinion to your self. Iranians want their king. THe Shah was a saint. THe current government is a colonial government. Wake up, if you are Iranian.
The Zoroasterian tradition has nothing to do with Monarchy and neither does Iranian culture.
To link the two together is so medievil. Once upon a time, Monarchy was the standard government. And most Monarchies used RELIGION AND CULTURE to establish credibility.
However, monarchies all over the world have been collapsing and IRAN has a 150+ year history of trying to establish a democracy.
You are mistaken because you have no idea of the importance of monarchy in Iran. Iran was the first country to have a secular democratic monarch. This is the Iranian heritage and contribution. This monarch, Cyrus, happened to be Zoroasterian. Iranians were Zoroasterian for 2000 years and still are. Zoroasterianism is blended into philosophy, culture, and traiditons of Iran. Read Richard Frye's book and then comment. Monarchies are alive in Europe and respected. Why deny Iran its Monarch?
Cyrus was ~530BC and, as important as he was, monarchy, however once relevant because Kings saw fit to make it relevant, are no longer relevant.
I have never heard a single Iranian state they wanted a monarchy. There are some "internet Iranians" and they sound like the CIA training manual on instigating insurrection.
Leave the poor Iranian people alone. If the US and the west just stays out of their affairs they will have a nice normal democracy. Monarchies are for idiots.
You are obviously NOT Iranian. You are full of sh..t. I have heard many Iranians express their love and affection for the King and to have a king again. A true Iranian will always honor its King and honor a 2,500 year tradition of secular monarchy.
Iran is in its shit hole today because of US/Isreali/European plot to overthrow Pahlavi Monarchy. This islamic republic is supported by Europe/Isreal. So, in order to liberate the poor Iranians, Iran needs US help to overthrow this colonial regime.
kit...where do you live? France or west coast US? Ever been to Iran? Ever got the opinions of Iranians who didn't have to flee the country in 1978? You only hear the opinions of pro-Pahlavists, non the vast majority of Iranians - don't act dumb.
When did the US plot to overthrow Pahlavi? They didn't. I don't even want to think how you figure Israel props up the Islamic republic. And how it is a colonial regime?
I have been to Iran. Yes, those who did not flee, regret it and want to escape Iran. The vast majority of Iranians hate the current Islamic Regime that has poluted Iran with its anti-Iranian poison. What's your expertise in this area?
1979 Islamic regime was a plot to overthrow Pahlavi to which America, Jimmy Carter's administration is the accomplice. This plot was concocted by Britain and Israeli. THis is a fact, my dear. Weakening Iran over past 30 years, while feeding Europe & Isreal-Get it.
Facts lol - what's the source? US considered the options when it was obvious the shah would not be able to survive but the US had nothing to do with the mass popular uprising. The Iranian Revolution had the highest popular particpation level out of any revolution - they were all bought and paid for by the US etc? Lol...do you sleep in that tin foil hat too?
The revolution was already unstoppable before Carter was elected and he supported the shah throughout - facts.
that is not true at all- the army would have crushed the mullahs and the thugs! that moron carter sent huyser to press the army into being neutral- in fact several top generals that rejected this were about to bomb khomeini's house- but they were assasinated by spies.
I don't think you're iranian or were in iran during this crap-
No, Huyser was sent to try and make sure the military remained loyal to Bakhtiar and also given permission to try and forment a coup if the Islamists took over.
ur way off dude....general badrei and oveissi wanted to bomb the school were that bastard khomeini was executing army personnel....and wanted to stage a coup...but huyser and a couple of traitor dogs like fardoust and gharebaghi pushed for the army to stay neutral...and they murdered badrei- his brother was our neighbor and he told us he was shot by a black amercican soldier....carter was a moron and he planted the seed for the shit you see today
huyser wasn't in Iran when badrai was killed. Oveissi had already resigned. Badrai was killed in public by an armed gang - his widow even says this.
Do you really think it more believable that a black American soldier (in uniform?) did this in public? His brother was the only eyewitness? Was he even there?

He explains everything very nicely as it happened. he is right, democracy died in Iran after overthrowing Mosaddeq. Shortsightedness of US government at that time and stupidity of Shah (king) of Iran.
MrYekesi 1 year ago
No, i dont say, that the Schah performed the coup.
"with the people" Oh yes, most historians beg to differ.
And fact is,that the CIA and the MI6 installed a oppressive dictator for their own interests and that the revolution against the corrupt Shah was supported by many many parts of the society. You wont be able to discuss that away, moron.
shurednichso 2 years ago 2
Oh please, since (Reza Chan)Pahlevi came '21 Iran was the bitch of the Britains. The iranien parlamento decided to nationalize the oil,not the Shah. And as Mossadegh got elected twice, the British and the American overthrowed him in Operation Ajax.
After that, the president couldnt start any reforms without the permission of the Shah. And the nationalization of the oil got deleted of course.
I see how "democratic" it was under the Schah and how "glad" the people were under him.

AND THEY ARE THE MAJORITY ...

Acting so anxious of meeting a foreigner ! and you may find the only reason they are unhappy with the regime is ECONOMY !
and like many other countries they know little about history , politics and international affairs !
fardad2000 3 years ago
I am probably one of the kind you may meet in Iran ... speaking good english ... probably even inviting you to a friendly party ... drinking with you and telling you how much I like WESTERN democracy ! and how much I'm suffering these mullahs ruling my + 2500 year old rich civilization !
Yet again, You're missing the point:
I'M NOT MAJORITY ! NEITHER IS THOSE FEW OUTSIDE IRAN, OPPOSING TO IRANIAN REGIME IN SATELLITE TVS FROM THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY ...
fardad2000 3 years ago
And hence think of more than screwd economy ... wanting more and expecting more ... dreaming of some thing defined as freedom of thought ...
and let me tell you again :
IF THESE WERE THE MAJORITY, Iran would never see an Ahmadinejad after a Khatami !
So ... You know Iranians through likes of Shirin Ebadi ... (I like that , and I wish most of iranians today did think the way she does) but the real iran is a bit far from your image of it !
fardad2000 3 years ago
and again another word of advise:
Don't ever think you have contact with the majority of Iranians when you come to Iran.
UNFORTUNATELY most of those who bother to come to our country -no matter if they've come for visiting the Historical Landscapes(!) or those who come for other reasons- are surrounded with the minority of those who are interested in communicating foreigners ... a minority living near fancy hotels , rich parts of the city... a minority who are well fed of course (just like me!)
fardad2000 3 years ago
I'm leaving in Iran and I'm not a pro to the current regime by any means ...
But let me tell you something dear drcollier:
Iran might be in a bad status today,
Many might not like the fanatic acts of Ahmadinejad's cabinet,
Economic crisis, corruptions, and mis-managements must have surely contributed to the unpopularity of Mullahs ...
BUT
WHAT MR KINZER SAYS HERE IS WHAT I ALSO BELIEVE AS AN IRANIAN and not just me , almost all of those who have read some history and think deeply about it.
fardad2000 3 years ago
Excellent review of the facts. US & Western Intervention is the reason Iran is a theocracy and not a democracy today. And the only reason they want into Iran is OIL.
The US & Western powers need to mind their own business and stay out of the middle east.
The world is too dangerous. If governements and corporations who run them aren't controlled by their citizens, who live in so called "democratic" societies then the world is in big trouble.

How can you say that Shah of Iran was democratic when he was "appointing" prime ministers? ;)
mullahsoutnow 3 years ago
The Shah of Iran was a democratic monarch. The truth about Mossadegh is that he had been imprisoned for treason and the Shah of Iran begged his father to pardon him because at the time Iran lacked educated people. The Shah then appointed him Prime Minister - a poor decision on the part of the Shah.
kit007yes 3 years ago
Mossadegh was removed for refusing BP's oil quest in Iran, and was replaced by the Shah. 25 years later, the Shah did the same thing by telling BP to shove it, so he, too was removed, and replaced by Khomeini. The ayatollah then betrayed his Western 'handlers' as well. This is why the UK/US/Israel wish to divide up Iran once and for all: Because regardless of who or what they put in power, they are betrayed by Iranian Nationalism.
giterdun77 3 years ago

I learned my lesson a little late.
faribairan 3 years ago
Excellent response, faribairan. The Iranians I know would agree with you 150%, because they too *think*. Iranians are a people prone to follow cults, as religion remains the 'opiate of the masses'. Hence why neoCONservatives in the US and UK find the religion-as-opiate model so appealing ;-)

They know that ordinary Iranians want to worship an idol even if it means slavery and humiliation.
oxydirty 3 years ago
oxydirtyy,
Your Iranian neighbors buried their heads under sand and can't see or understand the reality of Iranian politics. Your neighbors are so stupid that can understand it.
intelligentpersian 3 years ago
You are misinformed somewhat. The Shah was removed by the West for very similar reasons as Mossadegh was before him: Not agreeing with Western oil interests. Read William Engdahl's book, "A Century of War".
giterdun77 3 years ago
giterdun77,
Your comparison of a lifelong puppet of Western powers like Shah with an independent minded hero like Dr. Mossadegh is quiet amusing. Shah was not removed by west; west only did get along with removal of Shah at the very end that has had no other options. What disagreement of Shah with west, are you joking? I read your bible book, and certainly find it as much amusing as your comments. It is one of the most unsubstantiated fiction books I ever read.
intelligentpersian 3 years ago
intelligentpersian, the author Engdahl cites private minutes from Bilderberg meetings as his substantiation of how and why the Shah was essentially removed from power. Read the Shah's memoirs, "Answer to History", for the parallels in sentiments from the Shah himself, as the Shah was convinced that he was removed ungracefully.
giterdun77 3 years ago
By the way, what form of "substantiated proof" would convince you -- CBS and the BBC confirming it like they did the CIA's removal of Mossadegh (which was considered "conspiracy theory" decades ago as well)?!? The US/UK governments admitting to it?!? Have a clue...
giterdun77 3 years ago

giterdun77 3 years ago
You have it reversed my dear. The Shah was removed by the West because he had stabilized the middle east. Mossadegh had committed treason, he was an anglophile, followed Churchill to a tee! He was member of the qajar family and wanted to become King - he was colonialist from beginning to end and served the British purpose of divide and rule. The Shah of Iran was intrinsically Iranian and a true patriot who was disgraced by false reports and propaganda.
kit007yes 3 years ago
You are not informed. The Shah declined BP's request to renew another 25 year energy production deal with Iran, and was getting agressive. The Shah wanted 'payback' for cooperating with Washington in raising oil prices after the 1973 contrived 6 Day War and subsequent oil embargo. Those wanting the Shah removed included George Ball, Brzezinksi and the project's designer, Zbigniew Brzezinski.
giterdun77 3 years ago
You have it right about why the Shah was removed by the British and Brezinski. The Shah was a real nationalist. However, Mossadeg was a phony nationalist - a charlaton - he went against the Shah's orders to let the contract expire.
kit007yes 3 years ago
So, according to your reasoning, Mossadegh would've remained a 'true nationalist' if he allowed BP to rip off Iran?!? Again, the Shah in 1978 did *exactly* what Mossadegh did in 1953 !!! Why is that so hard for you to see? Also, like Hoveyda and plenty of others after him, Mossadegh was a Freemason.
giterdun77 3 years ago
the oil contract with BP was expiring in a few years. Breaking hte contract resulted in millions of pounds in penalities. Also, Mossadeqh shananigans were suspect because he was a supporter of Tudeh party which grew strong during his activities. He was never elected by Iranians as prime minister. The Shah APPOINTED him prime minister. Mossadeg's loyalities were divided. he was a British subject was arrested for treason earlier by Reza Shah. he belonged to Qajar Dynasty -put in power by British.
kit007yes 3 years ago
If Mossadegh was a "British subject", then why did he kick BP out of Iran?!? Also, what difference did it make that he broke the contract rather than let it expire, if the core point was to rid Iran of British domination over the oil sector? Do you think the Shah would've declined a renewal for BP after the contract would've run out? I don't think so. The Shah was loyal to Britain and the West, whereas Mossadegh put his foot down. Your statements are not guided by the historical facts.

I sense after reading many books, transcripts and articles from 30 years ago that the West removed the Shah to replace him with a theocracy ("The Green Belt Theory", if you will), but dropped the ball with the ayatollah khomeini. fraizer57, the theory of a tudeh/commie takeover of Iran under a Mossadegh govt. is entirely speculative. Mossadegh was an Iranian natinalist who, like the Shah after him, was educated in Switzerland. Plus, the Shah was not a democrat, and was ultimately removed by the same power that removed Mossadegh 25 years earlier, and for the EXACT SAME REASONS...
giterdun77 3 years ago
Do you seriously belive this liar Kinser's garbage? Are you realy only 28 years old?
There are many books written by many Iranians on 1953 national uprising.
Kinser is the Mullahs lobbyist. He is a liar & fabricator. Mosadegh was a traitor & the so-called 1979 revolutiopn of Khomeini had nothing to do with the events of 1952.
fraizer57 3 years ago
fraizer 57, you have to ask yourself just *who* khomeini ultimately *was*. Did he genuinely betray his Western handlers? Or was he following the script all along by OKing the seizure of American hostages? That is the mystery of history...
giterdun77 3 years ago
What happened in Iran in 1979, was the result of the British backed revolution that Jimmy Carter forced on us Iranians. So why Kinsers & others are not investigating it. Why 1979 overthrew of the Shah is a taboo in the west. Let me finish my remarks by Ronal Rogans remarks about the overthrew of the Shah of Iran: "What we did to the Shah is a black page in the history of America". Will Kinser explain this?
fraizer57 3 years ago
Carter was actually in the dark about it all. Bernard Lewis was the mastermind behind removing the Shah and replacing him with ayatollahs, and Brzezinski (who's now interestingly backing Obama and wanting to 'engage' Iran) executed the coup/"revolution" against the Shah, with the BBC helping plenty. Read William Engdahl's book, "A Century of War".

The British & American governments have been hijacked by zionists, todays geopolitical landscape is as irrelevant to 1953 as the Islamic invasion of Persia and the end of Zoroasterism, is today.
The British & Americans developed the oil fields in Iran.
seth797 3 years ago
Obviously the Iranians wanted the oil profits rather than letting oil companies have the lions share.
The fact is Iran would not be the advanced country it is today without the help of the west. That is not meant in anyway to discredit any Iranian self improvement.
The Main conflict at the time was communism against capitalism. Something kinzer fails to mention.
Not everyone in the West believes that Iran is the great enemy that our MSM makes it out to be.
seth797 3 years ago
The Iranians are of Indo-Aryan descent and as such have alot more in common with Europeans than is widely known.
Also Russia is NOW a totally different country to what it used to be.
The zionists are afraid of Putin because he is a man of conviction and therefore resistant to their machinations. He is a Nationalist.
Russia now Promotes democracy and religion mainly christianity, whereas the marxists outlawed all religion.
Russia is not the enemy, communism and zionism is.
seth797 3 years ago 4
That said, Putin was initially promoted to power by said zionists. Berezovsky is Putin's arch-enemy now because he was Putin's foremost proponent in the late '90s. Or maybe it's all put on for some sick psyops show, and Putin's serving them ultimately despite his seeming nationalism (in order to prevent an outright domestic revolt against the oligarchs of yesteryear).

?!? British agents ***INVENTED*** Communism! Read some real history rather than what's issued to you in public schools.
giterdun77 3 years ago
At the Tehran Conference of 1943, the Tehran Declaration guaranteed the post-war independence and boundaries of Iran. However, when the war actually ended, Soviet troops stationed in northwestern Iran not only refused to withdraw but backed revolts that established short-lived, pro-Soviet separatist national states in the northern regions of Azerbaijan and Kurdistan, the Azerbaijan People's Government and the Republic of Kurdistan respectively in late 1945, both effectively Soviet puppet regimes
seth797 3 years ago
Right, because of oil, primarily. Moscow still reviews Azerbaihan and the Caspian region in general for oil prominence, as does increasingly the US.

great...they dont tell you this in school!!
lumpfish99 3 years ago 3
They don't tell you *anything* in school, because all the approved history textbooks are funded by private corporate foundations (Rockefeller, Carnegie, etc.). One wonders if people, let alone kids, could handle the brutal truths of history anyway...

finally someone saying it like it really went down!

Without him, Iran would have been a united super power under Pahlavi.
kit007yes 3 years ago
How do you figure the shah was the rightful ruler of Iran? Because his father usurped the throne in a coup? Might is right? lol.
The shah has been quoted as saying he owes his throne to Kermit Roosevel.
drcollier 3 years ago
Mossadegh was a charlaton of the 10th degree. His Churchillian antics were so obviously treachoursout -- he has been agrandized for the Iranian people by the British, just as they brought Khomeini the SATAN for Iranians and told them that he is a saint whose picture is in the moon. Khomini was half indian and half british - he had no single drop of Iranian blood. Go Figure this one out! here we have Kinzer telling us that the Shah was oppresive? What bullshit. The Shah was a democratic monarch.
kit007yes 3 years ago
Democratic monarch? Please, don't make me laugh. He was an absolute monarch.
We know through history that absolute monarchies never work ie. in France, Russia, Spain, England etc. That's why many nations have symoblic, constitutional monarchies you ape.

I'm positive now you are not Iranian.
99999999988888888 3 years ago 2
What do you know about THe Shah of Iran? He was democratic, kind hearted, passionate about Iran, and served Iran with all his voojood - life. He left Iran grief struck to see 50 years of construction be destroyed overnight by a mad satanic mullah. He relied on his cabinet to report to him. Unfortunately, he was surrounded by a bunch of ass kissing traitors. why don't you clear out the bullshit anti-Pahlavi propaganda the media has fed you? All lies. Be proud of your King, if you are Iranian.
kit007yes 3 years ago
Lol, then tell me, why couldn't anyone speak up against the government? Where's the Democracy there? Why did SAVAK kill thousands of Iranians who spoke up against his dictatorship?
99999999988888888 3 years ago 3

AdenMutiny 3 years ago
Why can't westernerns understand that the Shah was a saint for Iran? Why does the west so vilif Pahlavi Monarchy who rescued Iran out of poverty, backwardness, and restored Iranian pride? It's obvious to me that Western intervention is required to save Iran, restore its 2500 years of secular Monarchy, and to restore Iran's sovereignty. This is a matter between US and Iran, lets keep Israel out of it. Its obvious that Europe and America need to unite to preserve Iranian culture/tradition/history.
kit007yes 3 years ago
You are totally incorrect.
The US overthrew the democratically elected government of Iran in 1953. US intervention is NOT THE FRIEND OF IRAN.
Iranians don't want Monarchy and there are very few people in the world that do. If you think that, then you are a fool.
The Shah was no saint. And Iranians always had their pride regardless of their governement.
The current governement is not right, but it exists BECAUSE of the US/West. It's a direct REACTION to the US/West.
AdenMutiny 3 years ago 2
How do you know what Iranians want? Are you iranian? A secular Monarchy is an intrinsically Iranian state. Iranians love their king. It is people such as you that poison the minds of Iranians. Monarchy is a beautiful tradition that goes hand in hand with Zoroasterianism, and everything Persian. Are you Jewish? If so, keep your opinion to your self. Iranians want their king. THe Shah was a saint. THe current government is a colonial government. Wake up, if you are Iranian.
kit007yes 3 years ago
The Zoroasterian tradition has nothing to do with Monarchy and neither does Iranian culture.
To link the two together is so medievil. Once upon a time, Monarchy was the standard government. And most Monarchies used RELIGION AND CULTURE to establish credibility.
However, monarchies all over the world have been collapsing and IRAN has a 150+ year history of trying to establish a democracy.
You are living in the past.
AdenMutiny 3 years ago
You are mistaken because you have no idea of the importance of monarchy in Iran. Iran was the first country to have a secular democratic monarch. This is the Iranian heritage and contribution. This monarch, Cyrus, happened to be Zoroasterian. Iranians were Zoroasterian for 2000 years and still are. Zoroasterianism is blended into philosophy, culture, and traiditons of Iran. Read Richard Frye's book and then comment. Monarchies are alive in Europe and respected. Why deny Iran its Monarch?
kit007yes 3 years ago
Cyrus was ~530BC and, as important as he was, monarchy, however once relevant because Kings saw fit to make it relevant, are no longer relevant.
I have never heard a single Iranian state they wanted a monarchy. There are some "internet Iranians" and they sound like the CIA training manual on instigating insurrection.
Leave the poor Iranian people alone. If the US and the west just stays out of their affairs they will have a nice normal democracy. Monarchies are for idiots.
AdenMutiny 3 years ago
You are obviously NOT Iranian. You are full of sh..t. I have heard many Iranians express their love and affection for the King and to have a king again. A true Iranian will always honor its King and honor a 2,500 year tradition of secular monarchy.
Iran is in its shit hole today because of US/Isreali/European plot to overthrow Pahlavi Monarchy. This islamic republic is supported by Europe/Isreal. So, in order to liberate the poor Iranians, Iran needs US help to overthrow this colonial regime.
kit007yes 3 years ago
kit...where do you live? France or west coast US? Ever been to Iran? Ever got the opinions of Iranians who didn't have to flee the country in 1978? You only hear the opinions of pro-Pahlavists, non the vast majority of Iranians - don't act dumb.
When did the US plot to overthrow Pahlavi? They didn't. I don't even want to think how you figure Israel props up the Islamic republic. And how it is a colonial regime?
All sorts of lol at you.
drcollier 3 years ago
I have been to Iran. Yes, those who did not flee, regret it and want to escape Iran. The vast majority of Iranians hate the current Islamic Regime that has poluted Iran with its anti-Iranian poison. What's your expertise in this area?
1979 Islamic regime was a plot to overthrow Pahlavi to which America, Jimmy Carter's administration is the accomplice. This plot was concocted by Britain and Israeli. THis is a fact, my dear. Weakening Iran over past 30 years, while feeding Europe & Isreal-Get it.
kit007yes 3 years ago
Facts lol - what's the source? US considered the options when it was obvious the shah would not be able to survive but the US had nothing to do with the mass popular uprising. The Iranian Revolution had the highest popular particpation level out of any revolution - they were all bought and paid for by the US etc? Lol...do you sleep in that tin foil hat too?
The revolution was already unstoppable before Carter was elected and he supported the shah throughout - facts.
drcollier 3 years ago
well...the US did have something to do with the uprising but not directly lol...like kinzer says.
And where/when were you supposedly in Iran?
drcollier 3 years ago
that is not true at all- the army would have crushed the mullahs and the thugs! that moron carter sent huyser to press the army into being neutral- in fact several top generals that rejected this were about to bomb khomeini's house- but they were assasinated by spies.
I don't think you're iranian or were in iran during this crap-
69ali 3 years ago
No, Huyser was sent to try and make sure the military remained loyal to Bakhtiar and also given permission to try and forment a coup if the Islamists took over.
Also 60% of the army was deserting.
drcollier 3 years ago
ur way off dude....general badrei and oveissi wanted to bomb the school were that bastard khomeini was executing army personnel....and wanted to stage a coup...but huyser and a couple of traitor dogs like fardoust and gharebaghi pushed for the army to stay neutral...and they murdered badrei- his brother was our neighbor and he told us he was shot by a black amercican soldier....carter was a moron and he planted the seed for the shit you see today
69ali 3 years ago
lol nice conspiracy theory.
huyser wasn't in Iran when badrai was killed. Oveissi had already resigned. Badrai was killed in public by an armed gang - his widow even says this.
Do you really think it more believable that a black American soldier (in uniform?) did this in public? His brother was the only eyewitness? Was he even there?
Keep living in conspiracies, dude.
