the fact that this is too distorted doesn't have anything to do with the genre... that opening riff is an arpeggio with ringing notes and when you use distortion it sounds dissonant. so all you need is a bit of overdrive.

Was searching for real live versions but came up on this. You lucked out, I'm a musician. Some constructive critique: lay off the effects altogether. At this stage you need to focus on technique, rhythm, and theory, instead of messing around with gadgets. Bassist: you have good rhythm but your swingin' head throws you off. Tapping of your heel is sufficient and takes little mental energy --- drummers do it all the time on the hihat pedal. Practice to a metronome together. Good luck.

Maybe you guys should try using some cleaner effects, nos so much distortion, i know everybody likes playing with distortion cause i's cool and stuff 8D

but when you want to play that kind of song, you should just use a little bit of chorusand delay, or just the chorus.

you play well, just need to get some more notion of what should sound like what.
