@beastfingerskate ive been playing self taught for 4 years and i devoted a week to playing a simple 3 string sweep and now 2 months later i can sweep almost any chord it just takes alot of patience its like learning guitar all over just start basic and you will get it
do you have a chart or tabs for this lesson its very nice just got into sweep i can only do a 3 string and a 5 string sweep but you have a larger variety thanks
@rtb2701 i dont know too much about guitar, but i want to buy one.i see one Yamaha guitar with amps, stand, carrying case, its about 200 euro.can u give me some idea about this?
Thanks much for the lesson. Btw, there is another type of chord called augmented, but I can count on one hand the amount of times I've heard that on guitar.
Good lesson, you're playing arpeggios by staying true to the form. Majority of the "arpeggio" lessons I see aren't arpeggios at all. Guys are teaching sweep picked scales that contain the notes of an arpeggio but rely on broad finger reaches so yes the notes are there, yes they are sweeping or raking but the ascension is in truth a scale.
Chords are to scales as they are to arpeggios and vice versa in every variance of relation. The active structure of each is how we know one from the other.
can someone just explain me root notes?how do u know a root note for a chord?if someone can just give me a website or explain me I would apreciate it,thanks
@PainlessTragedy locking yourself in your room for a couple days and do nothing but lol. heavy practice is the only thing i've ever seen to help with sweep picking technique wise at least. one thing that helps me though is practicing a variety of arpeggios and coming back to what you have trouble with regularly.
You say theres 3 main types of triad - major, minor and diminished. Well, remember there are 4 main types of triad - you left out augmented. Sure, it's not in the major scale, but it's very important in other scale types, like melodic minor and harmonic minor!
I love this video, but have you seen some of the videos on EASYSTRINGS (dot) INFO AMAZING!!! Especially if you are just starting out, or if you are looking to improbe your skills. Go check it out!
One "OT" question, does your guitar rg350dx(if I'm not mistaken) has a good stock bridge? I mean does stay in tune when you use the tremolo? I'm planning on getting the same guitar.
when you sweep the notes, you don't hear the distortion of the previous string you picked. When i do those arpeggios the distortion ruins my sound, any tips for it?
after you hit the note your supposed to release it and when you do you mute it with the released finger. you have obviously already tried that so either palm mute the strings or you can tie a sock or bandana around the neck so it mutes all unwanted notes. tie it to were it is just a little aver the first fret.
My favorite electric guitars are '60s neck Les Pauls with DiMarzio Super Distortion/ Breed pups. A nice FAT sound for rock/metal. But it's all personal preference. If you want to play an ESP or whatever. cool-rock on!
duh! chops are those big hairy things on the side of your face! not your mom's thighs... i mean like the things elvis had on his cheeks (besides pimples and coke...)
It's just a saying for your guitar playing. Like if I say "You got some chops man." I basically mean that you're a good guitar player and you know your instrument. Atleast that's how I've always heard it used.
I'm not really a metal player, more alternative rock and funk and jazz type stuff so I'm a Fender man. I would like to get an Ibanez or an ESP to play metal on though. I'm not really looking to be a "metal player" but I think it's good for guitar playing. Playing metal works your hands out and gets your chops up.
I don't know why you guys are arguing about ESP's and Gibsons. Fenders beat both of them haha. It's all personal preference. Personally I like Fender Guitars, but I'm also down with Gibsons, Ibanez, and I kind of like ESP's. Stephen Carpenter plays them so if they're good enough for him, they're good enough for me I figure. It's all personal preference.
My Vigier Excallibur is, in my own opinion of course, the greatest instrument available. Costs the same as a really good fender, but it's essentially hand built by 1 of 11 guys. They only make about 200 a year!
By the way, there are 4 basic triads, not 3. Major, minor, diminished and augmented.
Either way, if I have the choice, and I do. I will NEVER play on a Fender, or Epiphone. It's like with Marshall amps, you are paying for a name, not a guitar most of the time.
Spell straight right, moron. While ESP did base the Eclipse off the LP, the Viper off the SG and the whatever model off the Firebird, they are all uniquely ESP, not at all close to Gibson. I mean, have you ever played an Eclipse and compared it to a LP? Big difference.
First off, that is a totally oppinion based perspective. Also, ESP stole the "Flying V" too. And do know what else they ripped off Gibson?? Let me name a few of the REVOLOUTIONARY Gibson Inventions... 1).The Tune-O-Matic Bridge 2), The Stop Bar 3). The Humbucker(ya, Gibson invented that) 4) The 24 3/4 scale Neck 5). the headstock shape 6). The Angled Headstock 7). the 3 way Selector Switch 8). The 'Quick Snap" Electronic Wires
Except, they aren't rip offs like Epiphone was. ESP are mostly made specifically for metal and shred, like I said, you really need to play both to compare them. Gibson's quality has declined awhile ago, if you look at any of the new stuff they've come up with, the Robot guitar, that shitty ass Darkfire or whatever it's called, they are all gimmicks. Gibson's CEO today is a shit head.
I don't prefer either, I never said I did. I like Michael Kelly, Godin, Taylor etc.
Now, also, i admit, there is a big diffrence between the ESP's and Gibson's, BUT you have to consider that NOT EVERYONE Has the sama tastes as YOU! Sure, you think ESP is better, I(and millions other's) do not.
Gibson will always be #1 in quality, innovation, and Product!!!!
Sure, ESP is a good guitar for Metal, but thats it. Gibson is for Metal and everything else.
Really? What about him reminds you of those idiots? The fact that he can actually play the guitar while they can't play a damn thing, or the fact that he looks nothing like anybody from that fag circus?
;ajs;dlfkj;alskdjf thank you! i've been looking for a good lil arpeggio to get my sweeps up to par and i gotta learn that one at the end it sounds SWEEEEEET!
