It is not really 'us' drilling. It is companies all ready set up to do that, like Koch industries and Halliburton who manages the fields. I personally won't benefit other than perhaps 'lower' gas prices but I won't profit in the tune of billions, hundreds of billions of dollars. So Koch brothers send me a check and you can buy my vote. My going sellout rate is 1,000 dollars a year and I want a legal contract that I will receive payments. If so, go for it, drill in Montana but I personally profit
In message he's more Ron Paul.. but he's not willing to vote or support the message because of the messenger. Instead he will vote and support the message that Sarah Palin brings, because of the messenger.
Give me a break, there is now a LINO (libertarian in name only).
This man, and Fox News are total flip-floppers. They argue for issues when they are in power, and against when not. Can't believe Napolitano was actually hired by these propagandists. Glenn Beck is the most dangerous, uninformed voice in our generation. He is saying THE EXACT OPPOSITE of what he has said before Obama was elected.
beck is a racist, lying, fascist prick who is now pandering to people in the "tea party movement" who fancy themselves as libertarians. I'm sorry Mr. Beck, but YOU are one of the many reasons we are involved in these wars of aggression, and NOTHING you can say will change that! YOU were a mouth piece for war. YOU were a mouth piece for stealing our civil liberties. These neo-cons masquerading as libertarians, makes me want to puke. They are the FURTHEST thing from it.
Full 1 hour documentary chronicling the BP oil spill including the prior knowledge, the media blackout, the poisons used to 'clean' the spill, the lethal methane levels, the poisoned crops, the Monsanto-Corexit connection, the Goldman Sachs/BP/Federal Government connection, the mass evacuations, bioremediation---spread the word!
BP bought itself some limitation to its liability by coughing up $20 billion. They were not victimized by the federal government, they played Obama for a fool by getting off the hook cheaper than it otherwise likely would have.
@jgburke2000 wow you calling obama a fool? you mean obama is stupid? obama got fooled in a situation where you wouldn't have been fooled? so obama is stupid right? stupid like bush but just a better speaker right? or maybe obama knows what he is doing and is looking out for bp and you are the fool? maybe?
@Y2YAY Why play games, you know I didn't call Obama a fool, I said BP played him for a fool. How does Obama know that $20 billion is the right number? He doesn't. Why do you think BP went for that deal so quickly? Because it's in their interests, not the interest of the American people. But let's have a discussion, rather than play semantic games. What does Bush have to do with this, though? Don't tell me you're one of the Kool-Aid drinkers for whom Obama can do nothing wrong?
I think you have to separate people from the culture that they live in. There may be things that an individual truly believes, and things that society has thrust upon them. I think Beck always was something of a libertarian, but because the pressure is there to support a particular party or ideology, you need a crisis like this for someone like Glenn to come out and declare what he really stands for. But too often people hear what they want to hear, even if they've only been listening for 5 mins
@surfer53 don't be a fool. beck is just being agreeable for this show. he'll flip flop again and again. wait and see. beck is no libertarian. he's a neo-con all the way.
@Y2YAY I hope we can have discussions in the future without name-calling. It's okay that we have a difference of opinion and I'm sorry you have to feel intellectually superior because of your opinion. To say he's a flip flopper is to attack the man's integrity - I disagree with him on a lot of things, but I have no reason to do that. I prefer to stick to the issues, anyway. When people are losing an argument, they always aim for personal smears. I may be a "fool," but that fact isn't lost on me.
Do they think corporations wouldn't infringe on this version of 'liberty' they hold so dear? Why they think smaller, hierarchical groups profiting from, say a defense remit in place of the government, would be inherently less corrupt, or even efficient, is beyond me. We need government, we need regulation. They aren't libertarians, they are anarchocapitalists.
Did Chavez put an ethnic group in concentration camps? Does he search laptops of his citizens at the borders (which is an unconstitutional search for thought crimes)? Does he spy on anti-war activists? Does he have the right to order assassination of his citizens?
Does the US tolerate "an opposition TV station" that calls for overthrow of the govt and killing of the president?
How can Beck lie like that? He is a Goebbels, so he can.
Two FOX morons butchering logic and common sense...
If govt tells: "don't drill here", it doesn't mean that the govt says: "drill there".
It'd be like saying: cops told me not to skateboard on the sidewalk, so it means they told me to skateboard on the street.
Butchering logic is a favorite thing on FOX..This Napolitano is a total idiot. Anyway, what would you expect from a guy who introduces himself "Hi, I'm JUDGE Napolitano"...
@Thebboss That's inevitable. At some point you cease to be an original and you become a charicature of yourself. Bill Maher is a great example. Libertarian guy, but because he's anti-war, his main audience is the Left. So it becomes a natural progression. Sure, the fact that their rhetoric sells isn't lost on either of these guys, but I think much of who these guys are on TV is inevitable, but I credit both guys with at least trying to maintain some form of individuality.
Beck's interview of Texas candidate for govener, Debra Medena, was a blantant charactor assination piece that showed Beck for who he really is, a wolf in sheep's clothing, a 'turn coat' and hit man. That interview proved he is much more a republican operative than a libertarian. His on-air appeal and support of Palin as the best person to kick off their co-op of the Tea Party is yet another example of his mission. "In message" he is libertarian, yet in action he is something else.
@PhatPhing and the people simply responded by not voting for Medena. say what you will, but with free speech comes consequence. van jones is, or was a truther, and we see that was the straw that broke the camels back , not the fact he was a self-confessed communist. and the same thing happen to Medena.
Beck deceivingly told his viewers Medina was a Truther. The snake went on a lengthy tirade telling outright lies about Medina AFTER Medina left the air and couldn't defend herself. Obviously idiots like you bought it wholesale as shown by your original comment. This is also the same snake who said Ron Paul supporters were domestic terrorists during the 2008 campaign.
And who the f*k is van jones and why should I care?
@PhatPhing Hmm,small suggestion...play in your own yard, and leave American politics to Americans. Become more informed, its painfully oblivious you didn't listen to the entire interview. Mendena ask to come on Beck show.so, be careful what you wish for.
@PhatPhing yeah beck is a real douche bag. after all i've seen of him i can never support nor respect nor trust him. he hates the 911 families oh wait only a few of them. or perhaps a few thousand of them. katrina victims are scumbags. i don't even need to go on. beck is a piece of shit and he is only playing a new character while on this show. beck is a big govt nwo stooge all the way. only dumbasses like and trust him.
@InTheSticks1881 Took the bait? I listen to the entire interview live the day it occurred. The question required a simple answer yes, or no. If she can't handle a simple question from Beck, then its obvious she couldn't handle the day to day as, the Governor of Texas.
@arubberball An intellectually honest person should have the freedom to question and explore and as she had not explored the issue she may have attempted to remain agnostic. Most other politicians would lie. It was a hit piece, Beck was the hit man.
@InTheSticks1881 ok, lesson learned, one should not openly admit they support radical conspiracy theories that have been debunk. the same thing happen to ron paul. strange how the far left and the right see eye to eye on some issue.
@arubberball I agree with Gerald Celente's discription of our political party's, that it is a two headed one party system. Most would still support the intellectually dishonest and they get what they deserve.
"Are you a Libertarian?"
"No" would have sufficed. Being supporting gun rights and realizing Bush was a scumbag, doesnt make you a libertarian
