@rigsterdude yes but u didnt notice befor (before) at 0:08 and the vids under ten mins and u put 2 0s beforE :18 so try to build a kart and go fuck your self
this is sick !!!! lol iv got a go-kart but i need to do it up abit- need to put a new clutch, spark-plug and air filter on a briggs 5hp engine. Dont know if i should just get a bigger engine all together but i dont know what one i wont to get, i want an extream off road one that wont brake!!!
I guy said i could buy his go kart for $75. Its a one seater and it has a B&S 5 hp engine, is that a good deal? He said the engine needs a little work though.
was does everyone think riding lawnmowers are great for go karts! the bearings in the transmission or rear differential are slip bearings and are not intended for this kind of use. they get worn down really quickly then start causing problems. Its best to what you can off the lawnmower, like the engine and wheels especially, even the frame if you wanted, but some parts won't work unless you only plan on driving the thing at lawn mowing speed which wouldn't be very fun!
dooms, you under estimate some peoples resourcefullness. I built one and made some small changes to the gearing and I have the best of both worlds, a power geared work horse around the house, it plows snow, tows and when I want, I can boogy off into the woods....quietly, rolling over everything like a tank. I have enough speed to have fun and even be dangerous to a careless person. It was a blast to build.
I have no problem with resourcefulness or that you can change the gearing, the slip bearings are still going to give out. If you have a lawn tractor with a horizontal shaft engine you slap a solid axle with better bearings on the back, add torque converter pulleys and mount the engine and your good to go. But if you don't change them they wear out. I have had it happen on a lawn tractor we only used for mowing the lawn with and it will happen 100x faster if you run them like a go kart.
doom.. you're absolutely correct. I guess my point was that if ya already have the parts that will work short term and are free, why not, free is good. but I see your point.
I have a quick question. Not sure if you'll know or not, but I was wondering about the gear box's on these riding mowers. I have an old murray riding mower that has a 3 speed + reverse gearbox thats all on the diff (it kinda IS the diff). I was wondering if it would be able to handle a higher rate of speed, or just blow to pieces? I ask because it looks like you plan on keeping the one on this mover on and using it.
if its hydrostatic and has some kind of cooling system (a fan) keep that. it should hold out. just let it cool down every now and then. pretty much any tranny (or ur diff kinda deal) should be able as long as u keep the rpms down and let it cool down.
Ok. I haven't done much with it lately. But I'll give it a look over. I love my old mower. When it ran, you could dump the clutch in third and the front end would stand straight up, lol! It was kinda scary that way XD All I really wanna do is built it up so that it can rip around the place. I kinda have the same design idea as yours. puttin the seat down on the frame and gettin rid of the wheel wells and such. Thanx for the help!
cool I actually didnt drop the seat cuz the area for the seat was to narrow but i did take out the fenders and made an awsome seat for it outa wood. i plan on changing my gearing/pulleying and makin it goe 30 mph.
lol, sorry. I forgot which video was which XD I would like to do a bunch of stuff to mine. Only I don't know a whole heck of alot when it comes to modding small engines. I know where the gov is, and I can use that to make it go faster. Just not too sure how much the old engine will be able to take by doin that. I'd like to simply rig it up (using pully's or something) to simply force more rotation on the rear end. Leaving the engine to run normally. It can be done, just need the $ for it, lol!
guy...I don't know about high speeds but I would imagine that you could remove some gears from the tran and just run like a cart, the axle is more sturdy than my old go kart.
This is totally awesome. I'm going to be getting a go-kart soon. I will make sure I will show all of you guys the best go-kart you've ever seen in H-E-A-V-E-N-'S history.
And thats the bottom line because I said so. So give me a heck yeah
