@ schildgen1...we had a very severe storm like 10 days after you shot this that caused alot of flooding around DBQ and east DBQ and like i said i live close to one of these things and the storm was so bad that the sirens went off and i didnt hear them at all cuz of the rain and thunder and high winds...imagine living close to a storm siren and not even hearing it during a very bad storm
in cedar rapids abt 2hours west the we have a nuclear power plant in Palo and we have 2 distinct sounds to our sirens,...one for tornado and the other for nuclear power plant emergency...being that you are so close to CR it is used for the same in Dubuque and in Davenport and cities along the way on hwy 30 and 151
Dubuque sounds their sirens with both tones. They mean the same thing, but a few residents went to the EMA saying that they couldn't hear the steady tone, so they added the hi-lo in there to help out.
