Lol, I have never got hit by a blue shell in DD, never. In MKWii though, I always am getting hit by them, 24/7. Blue shells are MUCH more common in MKWii, they're super rare in DD.

I can tell you why blue shells are more common in MKW: THE TRACKS ARE MUCH BIGGER! Unlike DD, MKW can support a DOZEN people, so the tracks were much bigger, and that means more chances for the leader to get owned by the blue shells.

I saw that you could not do stunts in MKDD.

You will ned an Etherenet cable and a computer of coarse but it is also gonna be slow so get an SD card and store a WiFi connecter in it and then drag it into the file for GAMECUBEONL. and you will be a bit faster.

you can easily dodge a blue in mario kart double dash by drifting and in mario kart wii u can dodge by mushroom when its air diving. and y 2 blue shells appeared in double dash quickly because the items were set to frantic items. i always loved blue shells but never when they r against me.

But it doesn't matter, because everyone had to do the same thing. So it's equal. So that is absolutely not a good reason to state tht DD was better. This was what i was going to say in the end. In conclusion, Mario Kart Wii DOMINATES double dash in technically every way. Who cares for the special items, you get most of them in Wii. 2 on a kart? Who gives a poop.

@12eveal The special items in Wii are what ruin the game. Its not relay that the items are there, its more the simple fact that there are 12 players which makes the high powered items relay common which in turns makes for some real bullshit in some races.

Also, I agree that the two people in a kart thing is a bit of a gimmick, but it's one that it fun because of co-op. Also, special items; for once choosing which character to race with makes a big difference. I have no ideawhy they weren't inWii

@12eveal first of all, DD was made before online play even existed. Second of all, better GRAPHICS? You got to be kidding me. DD was an older game on an older system than the Wii. But what next? You compare the graphics of Super Mario 64 to Super Mario Galaxy (If you even know that Super Mario 64 even is)? MORE courses: What more? All they do is add 16 new courses and 16 old ones. Unless you count those 16 old ones, in that case Nintendo didn't THINK of the idea to put 16 retro courses....

@12eveal ....in at the time of DD. MORE vehicles: Like I said, DD was an older game so obviously it has less vehicles. Did you have less things in your possession when you were younger? Exactly. MORE characters: Some characters in MKW didn't even exist at the time DD came out. MORE combinations: Don't even want to talk about that one. Finally: MORE fun: Yeah, getting hit by blue shells, red shells, pow blocks and thunderbolts all the time causing you to finish in 12th sounds like a blast!

I just think that DD is better in allmost every aspect!

The items are MUCH more fair in DD, with no Lightning Clouds and far less blue shells, the lay out is better, and is overall a better game in my opinion!

And the fact that their are special items unique to each charecter, adds veriaty to the charecters, rather than jsut having VERY SLIGHT stat changes like in the Wii version.

And it has bomb-omb blast, wii one dosnt!

DD also has co-op, wii one dosnt!

I don't think there's any real way to quantify it. They appear at random, though more often when in last place. I've played both games and see them about as often. Once I even went through All Cup mode on 150cc in DD and never saw a single one in 16 races.

they should have put an item stat for the cars and bikes just like they did in mario kart ds. That diffenetly would have played a difference in this game because it is all about who gets the best items.

From my experience, they are a lot more frequent in Wii. I don't necessarily want them gone. I just want them to work the way they did in the 64, where it was something for the person in last to use to hit everybody (or everybody that got in the way).

u can dodge in mkwii by getting a mushroom and right when you see it spin above ur head you use the mushrooms and go blasting away. its all about the timing

You can dodge blue shells! Only in MK:DD though. It is very fun and rewarding when you dodge them so I love them, and I play with four friends every weekend and the last moments of the last lap where everyone saves all their little tricks and unleashes it and everyone races to crawl over the finish line is priceless. They ruined that in MK wii so we never play it even though we own it.

2 things:

1. Double Dash seems to be faster, meaning less time to be hit by blue shells

2. On Mario Kart Wii sometimes you could do a race & not get hit by blue shells at all & others you could be hit 5 times in one lap!
