  • I've seen Brad Pitt in a lot of movies and every time I watch him in this scene it reminds me how awesome of an actor he really is. He's definitely one of the more underrated actors out there. Fantastic scene...and undoubtedly one of Finchers best pictures.

  • The guy said he would take them to another 2 bodies, so 1 was tracy and the other was him, knowing mills would kill him right? hmm i still dont get whats mills punishment for becoming wrath..

  • pause at 2:11 to see her head in the box... then proceed to jerkoff

  • Comment removed

  • All the people commenting things like "I'd have done this...", correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Spacey's character's whole objective to make Brad Pitt's character get vengeance (wrath)?

  • @sk8rzak11 and maybe also to become evil..i.e the absence of good that theologians speak of.

  • This film set the standard for diabolical serial killer flicks. The actors were amazing, especially Kevin Spacey.

  • this scene is brad pitt's best scene ever!

  • Omg, this part makes me sad.. :( Brad Pitt is the best though.

  • Am I the only person who thinks Brad Pitt's acting in this is just abysmal?

  • @nomnomchikhan No, you are not the only one. For me, is one of the best actuations ever. And a lot of people think the same

  • @nomnomchikhan i agree with you! this is one of the best scene of history!

  • @jositoxxx1

I didn't say I liked this scene. I said it was abysmal. Meaning, I do not like it at all. Nicko293 said they liked it. Not me.

  • @nomnomchikhan i'm pretty sure that u prefer ben affleck and tom cruise!

  • @jositoxxx1

And why is that? Because I think that in this particular movie Brad Pitt's acting was way less than par?

  • "OH GOOOOOD, OOOOOH GOOOOOOD... OOOOOOHHHH!!!"

  • what i wouldve done, i wouldnt have shot him in the head, i wouldve tortured him and made him suffer first lol

  • kevin spacey: great actor, morgan freeman: good actor but one dimensional, brad pitt: fuckin useless

  • "Somebody call somebody"

  • I would have shot him in the shins

  • Its weird...Brad Pitt did horrible in this scene and the irony is Matt Damon did a horrible job in contagion in the scene when he finds out his wife died..its like Gwenyth Paltrow is not worth crying for in movies.

  • Se7en is one of the greatest movies ever

  • The best psichotriller film of the history I have seen

  • The best psichotriller film of the history I have seen

  • I don't know why I didn't like this movie, but I found it too predictable (not that I think it was bad)

  • i would've shot his hands, toes, and fight him until he NEARLY dies, then let him go.

  • @SquareGameplay shoot every part of his body that wouldn't be lethal and then beat him to a pulp. THAT would have been vengeance!

  • I have always had a problem with this ending. All Morgan had to do was stand between him and John Doe. He would not have shot his partner to get to John Doe.

  • 1:57 - 2:10 could be better... but still will never ruin this masterpiece of a film

  • WHAT'S IN THE BAAAWWWWKZ

  • Morgan Freeman King is my favorite actor... I ain't dick riding though

  • damn i would of just shot him twice in the nuts

  • Alas my faith is with the courts so I'm afraid I'd let him live despite everything he had done

  • so... what was in the box?

  • @ivanjr17 Not really important, Isn´t it? :)

  • @ivanjr17 You must have very poor imagination...

  • In the the drawing board alternate ending (my favorite ending) somerset shoots Jon because he didn't want Mills to go to jail. Mill's is like WHAT ARE YOU DOING and Somerset is like I'M RETIRING. It's a great movie anyways. One of the best crime thrillers ever made

  • Jigsaw, the early days :D

  • just after 1:20 is where I'd blow that motherfucker's brains out

  • They should have ended the film just as he raised his gun. I would have left it right there for the audience to guess. It would have driven the audience nuts but it would have been cool.

  • @RustiSwordz

Absolutely true! THAT would have been very interesting discussions, I guess.

  • Great movie. You can tell that the death of his unborn child, which he didnt even know, is what pushes him over the edge. The flash of his wife right before he becomes wrath is priceless!

  • "Ooohhhh...he did'nt know."LOL

  • whats in the box.. whats in the fucking box......its my dick in a box, its my dick in a box yeah

  • I still don't understand why Pitt killed him straight out, I'd want to torture him first.

  • @OlisIsilO I know, that's what I kept thinking. Shoot him in the kneecaps or beat him up or something...then there's the pain but Doe doesn't "win" lol

  • My wifes head? My unborn child? Shot to the head would not do it. Too easy WAY too easy. We would have had months together me and that gentleman.

  • Did Brad Pitt fire 6 shots or 7 shots?

Best movie ending better than The Usual Suspects ending.

  • @Mobgangster No i cant believe this!!!!!! he fired 7 shots!!!!! everything is 7!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • Anybody else notice that in this video the sky is blue but in other videos its like a dirty yellow colour?

  • @LevvyVision I haven't noticed that the scene becomes colorful till seeing your comment. Maybe this means something

  • About 1:31 when Mills(Brad Pitt) hears John Doe(Spacey) tell him about the baby, THAT is when he starts to lose it "From envy comes wrath".

Brilliant and sick film, and the music in this part is the best in the whole film aswell.

  • This film was waaaaay dark.

  • Excellent piece of work!! Thank you very much for Sharing!!!!!

What a way of meeting people and get to see their talent. At first was reluctant being on youtube, but getting to do this has brought me into the houses of some very special people. You are one of them. Life; isn't it wonderful!!! Keep up the good work. Hope You Are Having A Splendid Day!!!!

    A New Friend

    Erick

  • Wow. B*tchslapped by Morgan Freeman, what an honor.

  • why didnt morgan freemon tell bradd pitt its lettuce?

  • @shorteststraw319 his wifes head

  • John Doe has the upper hand!

  • This is the best Movie scene ever involving Gwenyth Paltrow. The way she just stayed in the box and didn't try and be over dramatic by rolling out towards Mills and John Doe is a credit to her acting abilities xx

  • @irishbrummiedon what do you mean?

  • Brad Pitt is gorgeous in this movie, and he's not a terrible actor in general..I mean, in the way that Britney Spears can carry a tune..but not very far...that type of "okay" actor. He does conversational scenes well (if you've ever seen an athlete try to do a guest starring role in a sitcom, you know that not everyone can pull off casual scenes,) but these dramatic lines he delivers SUCK. "What's in the bo-o-oxx" like a 4 year old pleading for a cookie... cringe-worthy bad.

  • @MeredithOD

Sorry, but this is bollocks. This would be a phrase and manner of representation every human would use in this kind of situation. Or are you a fan of overplayed theatre scenes with artificial acting? Anyway, my perception of Pitt completely changed after I saw the scene when Pitt talked to a dying black woman in Meet Joe Black. I understood that he CAN act and do it very well.

  • @MeredithOD To be more precise, this is exactly the way the type of Pitt character in this movie would talk.

  • @MeredithOD He acts like a normal human would act if they were trying to piece together or deal with a completely traumatic experience like this. It sounded pretty convincing to me actually.

  • @MeredithOD I can see why you would think it's bad acting. =) But have you ever seen the show Intervention? Sometimes people who are "freaking out" in REAL life, looks like bad acting in a movie. It's a very precise art, and I am not claiming to be an expert, because I'm not! But the director of this film IS, and who knows how many hours the Director and Brad took trying to figure out the best way to act this scene. But you are entitled to your opinion, and don't worry about the bashers. =)

  • @TentPegWielder Seriously... I think people expect something different of brad pitt in this scene but considering the circumstances i think this was as realistic a portrayal as it gets...its just about guaranteed that he'll lose his marbles from here on out... his wife's head is in a box... in what world would that call for a pretty reaction?

  • What's in the fuckin box????

  • @shorteststraw319 lettuce

  • "If you kill him... He will win".... brillant...

  • and he gets younger as he gets older.

  • This movie is a fucking adventure for the dark part in all of us... all the weird shit that happens throughout the movie makes you think you've seen it all, then you see the climax and you don't know what to think anymore.

  • Брэд Питт лучший!

  • конечно

  • Haha tosh.0!

  • ohh whats in the box.....at 0:29...thats so convincing...mixture of sadness and negation...

  • Horrible, horrible scene! Psycho movie.

  • Brad's acting after hearing his wife was pregnant is seriously complete shit and now I remember why this ending bugged me the first time I saw it. Or maybe it's just the editing or the scene alltogether...too unrealistic...Brad's weird crying, then cut to morgan freeman who sais something really slowly and calmly, cut to spacey...then cut back to brad, who apparently stood there waiting, although he just found out his wife was murdered...naaaah

  • @mongolenpup

    you are unrealistic too

  • @AustriaDictator Sieg Heil

  • Shoot his legs.

  • Pitt refused to be in the movie unless the original ending were to be changed, where Doe lived.

  • what's in the boooox

  • "Somebody call somebody"!!!

  • I always wonder about that part of the scene when Somerset slaps John doe. He looks at Somerset and says "Oh, he didn't know" it's almost like he knew Somerset knew about the baby. Great movie.

  • @Catlicker101

He did know. Remember Tracy sat him down in a diner and told him that she was pregnant and Brad didnt know.

This ending is soooo depressing. I would have beaten him within an inch of his life and then left him. Did you all figure out that Brad Pitt was the final sin? Wrath?

  • @Sladethetermanater87 Oh i figured it out. Plus he tells him"..become wraith" I liked this ending. Great film, imho.

  • I read that Brad Pitt was going to walk from the set because they wanted to cut the head scene from the ending. Glad they kept it, cinema gold.

  • God, I LOVE this sick, twisted masterpiece of a movie...the ending is f'ing amazing...

  • 2:11

  • That scene was all filmed in Lancaster my hometown. Awesome movie.

  • "Ernest Hemingway once said: The world is a beautiful place and worth fighting for. I agree with the second part."

  • about german is better

  • Kevin Spacey amazing !!

  • WHAT'S IN THE FUCKING BOX! HAHA!

  • No, it was his wife's severed head. John Doe even said so. Weren't you listening?

  • what was the image flash i dont remember that from the film

  • Her wife. It was on the film!

  • PERFECT!

  • Fight Club, Meet Joe Black, Legends of The Fall, Twelve Monkeys, Interview With The Vampire,... unserious roles where he played blubbering senseless fools BADly too?

  • fight club was amazing...

  • It was. My fav movie. Don't know why peopel game me 4 thumbs down, guess they don't realize I was being sarcastic to this other guy's comment.

  • WTF? Brad Pitt makes this movie. Brad Pitts acting in this scene is immense. You can see the emotion running over his face! By far my fave Brad Pttt film. Or fave film full stop for that matter

  • Have you seen any othe rmovies with brad pitt? hes always shitty

  • I've seen lots of movies with Brad Pitt and I cant say he's the best actor in the world though he is fucking fantastic in this and Fight Club and in Twelve Monkeys

  • and dont forget benjamin button

  • @Wizzylizzi And Snatch.

  • @Wizzylizzi you dont think hes a good actor why? also what about inglorious basterds? i've never seen him do a bad job acting?

  • @Wizzylizzi yeah, i think those are his best movies!

  • @Wizzylizzi and shall I say as John Black as well

  • Spacey overshadows both freeman and pitt here....this is kevin spacey's movie..enough said...he should have also gotten another oscar for this....

one of david fincher's greatests achievements.. second only to fight club.

  • I wouldnt say that, when i walked out of a reshowing of the film in cinema i still wasnt that impressed by Spacey, hes good, but imho not so memorable as to compare him to Tony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs (who only had 16 mins of screentime).

though he does play him as a very sinister, intelligant character.

  • I saw the movie when it came out and thought brad's act was excellent. It actually SUCKS!

  • what's in the boooooooooooooox!?

  • his wifes head

  • Thom Yorke's head.

if the video for 15 STEP by radiohead is anything to go by.

  • i dont blame him..its hard NOT to shoot someone in front of you knowing they just killed ur pregnant wife...the hell, i would have put 2 clips in him..ofcourse and than i would have been arrested..tough choice!

  • One of the best film endings ever. Film endings are so important and hard and so many good movies ruin some of the essence with shitty endings.

I didn't appreciate Brad Pitt as a great actor until I saw him in this and Fight Club. I think he's the type of actor that's only good in certain types of roles. Cocky or crazy type of characters. He really shines.

    Brilliant scene.

  • I totally agree with both points...

Most films, even the best films like The Godfather has a juddering feel when it comes to the end scene. there isnt a smooth transition to the end scene, and of course the end, is as important as the first 10 mins. because thats all the script reader reads, the first 10, and the last 10.

And Brad Pitt, in 12 monkeys, Fight Club, Seven, Curious Case of BB. he is great. really, really good. just because your good looking doesnt mean you cant act.

  • I thought he was pretty good in Snatch, too.

    Troy, not so much.

  • at 35. I love his "YOU LIE!".

  • The copter pilot says:

    "Somebody call Somebody???"

  • I like how Morgan Freeman delivers the line:

    "Shut Up!"

  • If you were on the jury of a police officer who killed a cockroach like that how could find him you guilty?

  • amazing acting from brad

  • Hey, NewTownMack...it was good acting. This is one of the most tense scenes i've ever seen in a movie. Period.

  • "What's in tha booooooox???"

    lol good acting Brad

  • Spacey is almost reptilian 1min 20secs in ......that hesitation ......the slow tilt of the head.....the lateral light..... and then that devastating line! The timing is masterly and I wonder how many takes they did to make that moment so perfect. (The calm but terrible triumph of evil)

  • Totally agree! Kevin Spacey is one of a kind! Brilliant acting!

  • Amazing movie, fantastic ending.

    ..so cool!

  • whats in da booooxx :D

  • creepy fucking ending

  • spacey got out easy. if i was brad pitt's character im standing him up, shooting him in both kneecaps then in the balls then i would proceed to smash his face into a bloody pulp with the butt end of the pistol

  • Morgan Freeman would of stood in front of Spacey if he really didnt really want to see him get capped.

  • kickass ending..

What's in the box is a fucking collector :)

  • Anyone else notice the picture of Gwyneth Paltrow imposed for a single frame around 2:11-12?

  • Yeah but was that supposed to be "Her Pretty Head" Though in the box?

  • the best final ever made

  • wow great ending
