Prepare to be enlightened. YES, there were Marines in the ETO. Iceland, North Africa, and the Mediterranean, which includes Corsica and Southern France (Operation Dragoon). This did not mean every Marine was engaged in combat, most were assigned to ship-board duties and/or were relied on to train the soldiers for maritime/amphibious landing operations.

well just own all the people who think the navy did the the D-days they were a part of it but the navy have foot soldiers if u r British like me the navy foot soldiers r called royal marine commandos and U.S.A navy foot soldiers r just marines so marines do all beach landing so who every said marines did not do D-day battles and beach landing well ur wrong they did u want to know how i know i know because my great grandad was a royal marine commando and my grandad was a navyman HAQ!

Though the Army helped with artillery and bombing, the Marines (or more correctly, the Army Rangers) were actually the ones who demonstrated incredible bravery on June 6th. I really hate it when people like you who don't know a thing about war come and insult them.
