  • what percussion truments are used?

  • Thanks hitzville 81! Blue Note of 1955-1975 is my thing. The turbulence of the times turned out the most dynamic music ever, in my opinion. I feel blessed to have heard the greatest jazz musicians of all time, and take very good care of my vinyl, analogue still sounds better to me than digital music.

  • As great as this record is, imagine what it could have been with McCoy Tyner on piano and Elvin Jones or Art Blakey on Drums! Both were under agreement with Blue Note during this period, but perhaps weren't available. Anyway, Coltrane went on to Atlantic and would team with Freddie Hubbard on Trumpet, with whom his style clicked more than Morgan. Lee Morgan is still my fav, but too "bright" for Coltrane (so I'm told).

  • @curtnevan Great point! I love your knowledge!

  • the lick at 2:10 is priceless
