Let me see if I can. The game had Grover, Biff, and Prairie Dawn as contestants, a cow, a rubber ball, and a little boy. The object of the game was that the three contestants had to guess what was on the table, which they didn't, and the little boy, the owner of the ball, won the cow behind the curtain. That's how I remember it, anyway.
Rain, wind, snow, and Yasha Lombardi - what memories! As is the case with most Sesame Street clips, only now do I associate the tunes played with 'Singing in the Rain,' 'Gone with the Wind,' and 'Winter Wonderland.'
Well, I was right and wrong. Looking at it again, he loses his hair at 1:19, and he loses his nose at 2:40. (You can see it bounce off his sleeve after Jascha jerks his head back.)
Thank you for posting one of my favorite SS skits. :) Let's see, for rain they played Singing in the Rain, for wind they played the theme to Gone With the Wind, and for snow they played Winter Wonderland. A very musical and weather filled skit.
Wow, the rights must be absolutely prohibitive to release this sketch on DVD because of all those copyright-protected songs! Once again, Danny Epstein's amazing drumming at 2:19 never fails to impress, and Jim Henson must've absolutely KILLED his voice recording this sketch! Peace.
Nadda. It's from Season 2. The lavender live hand puppet didn't debut 'till the second season. Though, it's odd that Frank's doing the announcing here. Jerry must've been out that day
I could be wrong but I think it was the 3rd or 4th sesaon cause Guy Smiley was wearing a white shirt with his red tie and dark blue sports jacket before he went to a light blue shirt. Never the less it's still a good classic
You actually might be right on that. It's either from Season 2 or 3. Season 3 at the latest since this Guy Smiley puppet was used for the first three seasons of the show. But whatever. Like you said, this a classic =)
Do you think Yasha could have done "Hair Club for Men" ads?

This seemed to be some sort of pageant.

Did anybody notice that when Guy told the audience to give a hand for rain, you you vaugely see a puppeteers hand holding the umbrella?

Now if someone would download "What Is It" and "This Is Your Story," I'll be a happy camper.

I keep hearing about "What Is It" but never really gotten any specific detail out of it. Would anyone remember how that went?

Thanks. Would you remember what year it was from and it seems to me that you've might have seen it way back then.
jonnytbirdzback 2 years ago
Hmm. I believe the last time I saw it was sometime in the late 70's or early 80's.
muppetfan33 2 years ago
Dang, you really got a good memory.
jonnytbirdzback 2 years ago
Well, thanks. Some things are just easier for me to remember than others.

Well, I don't remember it exactly, but I know it's true.

1:16 I always turn my electric fan on on high when Jascha starts conducting Wind music. Makes it realistic!
tpirman1982 2 years ago
Who's voicing Jascha? Frank Oz? And I suspect Frank also voiced the show's announcer.
tpirman1982 2 years ago
Poor Jascha's nose got knocked off by the wind at the 2:30 mark!
MuppetDude 2 years ago
You're wrong. It was actually his hair that got knocked off by the wind.

Anyone notice the lightning bolt going off at 1:19? That must've been an error backstage or something!

Here's something I'd heard about for a while but hadn't seen until now. Nicely done.

Yasha sounds more like a Keith Richards than an orchestra leader.
This one evaded me during the early seasons. In fact, I thought it was gonna be the "Kermit and weatherman" skit.
I'm definitely thankful for these SS uploads. THXGVG.

Heh, you can see his nose blow off at the end during the wind.

That's the EKA we have at Muppet Wiki - Episode 0337 (02/01/1972). Season 3, Episode 62, if I did my math right.
