Hey hun, I know how you feel. I'm not even close to being underweight now, and believe me, when I was barely in a health weight my body image and my frustration with myself were much worse than now. It goes away. Don't focus so much on the weight, focus on the behaviors, eating right and so on. If you ever wanna talk, I'm here!!
@todreamisagift thanks babe :') i'm really trying to focus on behaviours, but then as soon as i remember about weight i freeeak out! not fun times. just gotta power through. i'm reassured that your experiences are similar to mine! thanks for the support, it means a lot =) xxxx
I think it's really normal for you to feel this way about reaching a healthy weight, but definitely keep telling yourself that it's a good thing, because it is =). Everyone who recovers from an eating disorder eventually reaches a healthy weight. It's unavoidable, and you have to get to a healthy weight before you can learn to accept yourself at one.
(c) sure, it's difficult to handle being the weight you are, but after a little while you do finally start to realise that you look good. better than you did when you were emaciated and skeletal (if you got to that point). i've started realising the good things about me, physically and even mentally, which is something i never thought i'd be able to do. my mind is so much more clear now that i'm at this weight, and sure, i have bad days, but i get through them. always here if you need to talk!
@emmyefron thanks hun :) trouble is, i didn't get to the really skeletal stage, so i'm still convinced that i looked better at that lower weight...even though i know perfectly well that i didn't *feel* any better, which makes how i look kind of irrelevant. ah brains, what mysteries they are... *hugs* thanks for the support, it is much appreciated! xxx
i've suffered with anorexia for over two years now. after inpatient treatment last year, i relapsed MAJORLY. almost killing myself, early this year. well, i've managed to recover (almost) and i've reached (just) a healthy weight of 102lbs at around 5'3ft. well, let me tell you. it's one of the hardest things to do, but it is completely worth it. it might sound like i'm just typing this out to you to make you feel better, but i promise. life becomes amazing when you can actually DO things.. (c)
Aw big hugs,i can totally see why you're confused hun.Healthy weight is good tho,i promise.you know the benefits but yeah, your head tells you it isn't so that has to be very confusing.
Lots of luck for your play by the way,i'm sure you'll be great
"The only way out is through" theres no easy way around recovery, but once your out, im sure, (wish i could say i know), i imagine it is the most wonderful, most liberating feeling in the world. Here for you always my friend xoxo thinking of you <3 love and *hugs* mwah
You are an inspiration. Healthy weight is definitely good, but at the same time its natural that you aren't 110% stoked about it, thats ED for you. Just tell "IT" to shut up. you KNOW that a healthy weight is most beneficial, and that loosing more, is just a never ending spiral, been there done that, and you know exactly what that path brings, and it sure aint happiness. Just got to keep pushing on.....
