It really depends. Some gliders will nip lightly, some will taste bite which isn't too bad, some take a quick and sometimes painful bite, and some bite very very hard and can draw blood at times. It all depends on the glider, but if you spend a lot of time bonding with your gliders, the biting will decrease over time.
A standard gray glider only costs between $125 and $175 from a good breeder. Always buy gliders in pairs as they are colony animals and require companionship with another glider to remain happy and healthy. Also, be sure to do plenty of research before adopting gliders. GliderCentral is great place to learn a ton about these little guys!

I occationally get waxworms but he gets few in one sitting, their quite fatty
