  • great stuff, thanks sir!

  • Is the En Passant legal if the pawn only moves 1 space to be beside an opposing pawn?

i.e. Exactly like how you explained, but the attacking white pawn is one space forward and the black pawn only moves one space.

  • im vs the computer on level 1 buts its so fucking good -_-

  • Thank u so much!!!^_^

  • Very well done video guy... I subscribed to you only because you didn't ask and, you are very well spoken.

  • Extremely basic. True but basic.

  • i could take this chump down in 4 moves np ! even if he did see the fools mate i dont think he could hold his posstion against someone who can play, like me !

  • good stuff boss!

  • Is it possible to castle the QUEEN ( I am new in chess)

  • @27chantal101 Don't think so.

  • Thanks, these set of videos helped me understand chess A LOT BETTER!

  • I needed this basics, all the other people here assumes everyone already know this stuff already.

  • first time i ever understood chess. thx. but in en passant, is the point of this move just to give you a one-time opportunity to take the opponent's pawn which would otherwise be an illegal move? because, all that is happening is the white pawn is going diagonally up into the left(where the black could have been had it not moved 2 squares) & it can move that way even regularly, but this en passant option gives you the oprtnty to move up dat way & take the opponent's black pawn - correct?

  • why is queen on left for white and queen on right for black?

  • Thank you so much I have always wanted to play

  • nice video that help me a lot

  • Thank u hope to c more I guess I'll try to play a lil bit of it thanks again

  • can you castle on either side?!!

  • @1080portal Yes.

  • Thx u very much this really helped u da man!

  • Thanks so much all three lectures were paced really well and soothingly informative!

  • What about pawn promotion?

  • You can also ply chess with yahoo games with other people

  • I didn't understand... the 'an passan ' (I don't know how to spell it) move would make me take the pawn if I do that or is just a move?

  • @7Mushrooms7 En passant gives a player the option to take an opponent's pawn on the move directly after an opponent's pawn has moved two spaces and landed next to one of his own pawns. In doing so, he removes the pawn from the square it landed on and moves his own pawn onto the square that the opponent's pawn skipped over. If the player does not want to take the pawn en passant, then he does not have to, but cannot take it at a later point. Hope this isn't too convoluted to understand :)

  • Where is the best place to play online?

  • @TheLastFraudster If you can spend the money, then a membership at the Internet Chess Club using BlitzIn or Dasher software is best. If not, the Free Internet Chess Server isn't far behind and has thousands of players daily. I would not recommend sites like Yahoo, MSN Games, or Pogo.

  • well, I knew all of this except the last move in this video, and I still always lose :/

  • @ausauspatpat I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe you should watch the other videos I have posted regarding strategy, etc.
