Odd sort of logic since Edwards made his money from lawsuits and it is because of ridiculously high settlements that insurance companies have raised their rates and why so many doctors have raised their rates and why so many doctors no longer want to deliver babies because of the threat of lawsuits.

Actually, that's a bunch of bull the insurance companies are always cying over. When a company does wrong resulting in harm, they should be held liable. Of course, they disagree. But How many pens, notepads, t-shirts, and catered lunches do pharm. companies pass out to doctors' offices for "free"? We are all paying for it. Insurance companies consistantly raise rates, reduce or deny coverage. They charge us more, and pay docs less. It's a scam, and I for one am SICK of paying for it!

Acutally, it's not a bunch of bull. Edwards' lawsuits involved over 60 million dollars in settlements. You could pass out quite a few pens for that amount. And no one disagrees that a company should be held liable if they are at fault for injuries or death, it's the outrageous amounts awarded in the lawsuits that end up costing all of us.

I have, and you'd be amazed at the legal team they paid for to fight me and my need for basic care.

I would suggest you investigate the rates insurance companies charged before they started getting hit by outrageous settlements. Just one of John Edwards lawsuits cost a company over $20 million. That's just one lawsuit. Now add up all of the lawsuits over the years and you'll see why rates have gone up.

Right on! My brother and his wife were recently told their insurance company would pay for NONE of his wife's pregnancy. The insurance company said she should have told them she would get pregnant beforehand. She's been with this company for years!
