this kid is syncing. the fast runs in the solo, not to mention the low E fast picking lick (11-12-11-0, 8-11-8-0 etc) are being completely approximated in hand motion, not to mention that for the low E lick he's "sliding" the fingering with his index finger, as opposed to using multiple fingers.

everything else i can buy him playing just fine, but he's totally bullshitting on the fast licks. i don't care how much gear he has, but he's not the one physically playing this song.

That is typically how the pros do it because there is never enough good footage from one take. But also, the way this is shot I couldn't tell because all of the cameras could be set. I have to be a part time cinematographer while I get my audio certificate so I am always thinking and asking about these things. Youtube videos have come a long way.
