Karpov is one of the best d4 players ever, and Kasparov is probably the best e4 player in history ( also Fisher and perhaps Tal). No wonder Kaspy wanted to play the Sicilian 24 hours a day and 7 days a week!!!

I feel that chess has received worse media coverage despite the Internet sometimes. The WCC does not get any media coverage on BBC or ITV / Channel 4. It did up until 1995.

Kasparov in many ways resembles a Michael Jordan (of chess). He's extremely (and openly) competitive, he's regarded as the greatest ever, and he's got his share of arrogance. This is especially evident in these clips when Kasparov was in his prime.

"Once you said the Grunfeld is 100% correct" - Kasparov seems to have had a hard time giving up the ghost despite his abysmal results with this opening against Karpov. He probably would have been better served playing nothing but the KID or just going for draws with the QGD, he only got one win and a ton of losses out of the thing in all their matches combined.

@Tengoshi Kasparov must be a man of principle, to defend the Grunfeld. It maybe more of a postal players defence if you want 100% correctness, rather than on a countdown clock ?
