@nirstencheece10 ...hey there. so what'd you do diff to fix the 1st prob? if it's all moving/coming off at the same time it's prob because it's drying too fast. try to minimize your layers (try like 3 diff colors) and play around with the water temp. speed is so crucial - i've wasted a lot of nail polish trying to get that timing down. hang in there - once you get it right, you will love it and all your friends will wanna do it too. = )
@nirstencheece10 - Hi there! What happens when you're dropping the polish in the water? If it doesn't spread it could be a particular chemical in the polish, or the water temp. Make sure the diameter of the cup/bowl/dish you're using is large enough and play around. Because nail polish can be pricey, try practicing with some Sinful Colors or Wet n Wilds first. The thinner the consistency of the polish, the better it will spread. Try with some luke warm water (not hot and not ice cold)...
and play around with some of your thinner, cheaper polishes first. It can be frustrating at first - I still mess up here and there, but eventually you'll get the hang of it. Also - make sure you're not using a polish with 'rapid dry' agents. I know that comment sounds like common sense - but so many polishes are quick dries now that it's easy to forget when doing this method. Good luck and let me know how things turn out with your friends! = )
Hey there - you can definitely dip 2 fingers at the same time. I often do that to save time and polish. Just be very careful because it's so easy to bump your fingers or smudge them when you double dip. Good Luck! xoxox
Hey ther hun - sorry you're having problems with this. (I did at first, too) For me, it really matters what polishes you use - the thinner the better. Try some cheap wet n wilds or NYC. Those spread very well. Also, you can even give the cup of water a gently shake each time you drop polish to force it to spread better. Give that a try and let me know if you still have problems. Don't worry - eventually you'll get it and you'll have a blast!! = )
wow i have never seen this technique before. how long do you have to keep your nail in the water? i am assuming you have to dip color in the water each and ever time for each nail??
Hey! Thanks for commenting. You only have to keep your nail in the water long enough to scrape the excess off around it. (not even 30 seconds) It's an extremely quick process, but it does waste polish. I usually just do my index and ring fingers and keep the others a solid color. You also can double dip your nails to save polish and time, but I suggest you attempt that after you've given it a few tries. I'd love to see what you come up with if you decide to try it out. xoxox
Hi there! I've heard other people say that the temp should be luke warm, but for me the temp doesn't make a difference as long as it's not ice cold. Unless you're using an insulated cup, it's too hard to keep water a certain temp while doing this technique - so that's why I don't think it's crucial. Where I ran into problems was the type of polish. Play around. The cheaper ones actually work the best. Try NYC, Sally Hansen, Sinful Colors. Have fun!!!! (And thank you for commenting!) xoxox
Hey there! I have no idea who created this technique (wish I could take credit), but it is alot of fun! Yes, you just quickly drop the polish in water (I use cool or lukewarm), and use as many layers as you want. The key is to be super quick and play around with different polishes. Would love to see pics or vid response if you give this a try! xoxox = )
Thank you so much!!! I just LOOOVE water marbling! It's messy but I don't care. So much fun! If you ever have questions, feel free to ask. I'm gonna try and do a couple more vids this weekend. xoxox
Thank you!!! Really appreciate it. My niece picked out that mug for me from Disney World. It's too darn big for drinking, but it's perfect for marbling! lol Take care!! = )
I hope you all enjoy the vid! It's my first attempt at a tutorial. If you have any questions on this technique...feel free to ask! Happy Valentine's Day! xoxox
