the 1 thing i hate about idol is the time each performer gets to sing. That was 1/3 of the song.. Ads get more time and all the talking.. jeez at least give them 3mins.
@68kira Well, that wouldn't give time enough for the judges because it's all about them. Yes, it's a shame they have to cut a song so much just to fit into the program. This is supposed to be a show to see what the singers can really do & 1-1/2 to 2 minutes doesn't do most song justice. You just barely get up to the chorus.

Not only do I love David Cook's brilliant performance but I also love the whole video due to the jabbing among the male judges and Paula's remark that it is not about the two but about contestant David. There is chemistry among the three that will be spoiled later by the addition of a fourth judge. I also love that david greeted his MOM on Mother's Day . I will always remember this performance every Mother's Day.

You are right, David Cook never screamed, not once. Adam had a couple of songs that he didn't scream but what made it worse was that inevitable tongue failing thing he does, flaping away. I couldn't stand looking at him. Glambert is going to do a CD aka Queen and Lady GaGa (ugh is all that comes to mind).
I can honestly say that although I did enjoy this season of AI nothing will compare to when David Cook was on, when the show ended I was actually sad not to be able to see him every week on my TV. DC rocks, keep up the great work. I'm a huge fan.
well, in an interview adam actually said he actually learnt fron david's performances on idol. adam can hit high notes, undeniably, but sometimes it really gets too much. i love david cook, i think he is the real deal, with the whole package.
I prefer David Cook with some facial hair rather than clean cut. It adds a bit more masculinity. Either way I love his voice!! Plus all the predictable screaming. Prrrrrrrr.
I prefer David to Adam, personally. Adam is an AMAZING singer and he chooses the perfect song for him every week, but David just seems more... down to earth, almost? Idk, but he has more normal persona, versus Adam... whose hair I adore. I want that hair... lol.

I totally agree! David is more down to earth, where Adam, even though he's a very good singer, has a sort of way of acting that just screams "too cool for normal". But that may just be me. :(
On the subject of Adam Lambert. It is apples and oranges to compare these two talented men. Adam is very different in his style, but nonetheless talented. It takes talent to come out each week and add your own unique style (successfully) to classic songs. It also takes guts! Adam is a showman, and we will see a lot out of him in the coming years.
David is a deep and sensitive singer. I enjoy watching him sing because he loves the songs he chooses. I'll bet he was singing to his mom out there standing in the audience. I'm sure she was thinking of the first time she saw his face, and his brothers. I doubt David will see our condolences, guys, but if he does I hope our Lord will comfort and keep him and his family.

I am also a big Adam Lambert and David Cook fan, David C was my favorite last season, and Adam is this season. I apologize on behalf of Glamberts who diss David C. Boy you are so wrong. His screams are the icing on the cake. He can hit any note, sing any song and on top of it he's a genius with arrangements and interpretation. Not only does he have an amazing range but he is very very smart. His song choices and execution are brilliant. Open your ears and eyes.

It's perfect. I think the stage is awesome, and the lights just suit the mood of the song. I like the way that his voice sounded so gentle at the early part, and later intensifies as the performance approaches the end. I'm completely blown away.

This was absolutely beautiful and as a mother, made me cry. I'm glad that he didn't record the entire song, however, because ultimately it's a really freaking boring song. He did perfectly with the short version he sang and I don't think could ever better it.

This was honestly good, there's no way archie can pull that arrangement, considering most of his song choices are in single/one key, but i much prefer the original (leona, whitney), but this version was 5 stars worthy.

I've heard alot of singers and he's definitely in the top 1% world class. not to take away from David A., but David C. has a unique sounding voice and can cover many songs and genres with ease. would like to hear him sing "You Don't Know Me" as an example; in his own special way...I think he has the right emotionalism and believablility for it.

Adam Lambert has his talents and David Cook has his too.
Tthey are both in two different worlds. David does almost anything his way which you cant necessarily limit to ROCK. That's his greatness.
Adam does things in GlamRock. To appreciate this kind of music, only certain people are able to do so but still, both of them are of greatness.
So there. Both of them ROCK.

You are right, David Cook never screamed, not once. Adam had a couple of songs that he didn't scream but what made it worse was that inevitable tongue failing thing he does, flaping away. I couldn't stand looking at him. Glambert is going to do a CD aka Queen and Lady GaGa (ugh is all that comes to mind).

I can honestly say that although I did enjoy this season of AI nothing will compare to when David Cook was on, when the show ended I was actually sad not to be able to see him every week on my TV. DC rocks, keep up the great work. I'm a huge fan.

well, in an interview adam actually said he actually learnt fron david's performances on idol. adam can hit high notes, undeniably, but sometimes it really gets too much. i love david cook, i think he is the real deal, with the whole package.

I prefer David Cook with some facial hair rather than clean cut. It adds a bit more masculinity. Either way I love his voice!! Plus all the predictable screaming. Prrrrrrrr.

I totally agree! David is more down to earth, where Adam, even though he's a very good singer, has a sort of way of acting that just screams "too cool for normal". But that may just be me. :(

On the subject of Adam Lambert. It is apples and oranges to compare these two talented men. Adam is very different in his style, but nonetheless talented. It takes talent to come out each week and add your own unique style (successfully) to classic songs. It also takes guts! Adam is a showman, and we will see a lot out of him in the coming years.

David is a deep and sensitive singer. I enjoy watching him sing because he loves the songs he chooses. I'll bet he was singing to his mom out there standing in the audience. I'm sure she was thinking of the first time she saw his face, and his brothers. I doubt David will see our condolences, guys, but if he does I hope our Lord will comfort and keep him and his family.

Just got this news: After a long and valiant struggle with brain cancer, "American Idol" winner David Cook's brother Adam died at 1 a.m. this morning at a hospice in Terre Haute, IN. "He was surrounded by his family, including his wife Kendra, his children, his father and his step-mom, among others."
David was rushing back on a jet when his beloved brother died.

I am also a big Adam Lambert and David Cook fan, David C was my favorite last season, and Adam is this season. I apologize on behalf of Glamberts who diss David C. The opinion of one fan is just that, it does not represent all of us. BTW David C. favored Adam during his interview, so even if the few of you who do not enjoy David's vocal style, at least respect his great character, and stop comparing apples to oranges. They ARE different, but both great. So please ppl, lets support them both!

Adam's fans are not very bright. Here you have fans of Cook that read these comments, and Adam's fans diss Cook on his vid? That's a good way to turn off Cook fans, and have a huge fanbase vote for someone else other than Lambert, just out of sheer spite. Adam's fans need to wise up.

Boy you are so wrong. His screams are the icing on the cake. He can hit any note, sing any song and on top of it he's a genius with arrangements and interpretation. Not only does he have an amazing range but he is very very smart. His song choices and execution are brilliant. Open your ears and eyes.

s'good, I'd like to have seen him play the guitar part and loose the cheesy strings.
He also has a bad habit of scooping up to notes and not just nailing them. But for pop music I guess that 's not so bad, just a little annoying when done over and over again to a trained ear.

It's perfect. I think the stage is awesome, and the lights just suit the mood of the song. I like the way that his voice sounded so gentle at the early part, and later intensifies as the performance approaches the end. I'm completely blown away.

This was absolutely beautiful and as a mother, made me cry. I'm glad that he didn't record the entire song, however, because ultimately it's a really freaking boring song. He did perfectly with the short version he sang and I don't think could ever better it.

I've heard alot of singers and he's definitely in the top 1% world class. not to take away from David A., but David C. has a unique sounding voice and can cover many songs and genres with ease. would like to hear him sing "You Don't Know Me" as an example; in his own special way...I think he has the right emotionalism and believablility for it.

I totally cried (as a mother) when I saw his mom standing there with all that pride and motherly love. This was beautiful...but I don't want him to record it. It's a freaking boring song and the minute and a half he sang it, was perfect. There's really nothing more to add to it.
I'm going to the tour on July 19 in Chicago...can't wait. I never thought I'd ever in my life go to an Idols tour but DC has changed much for me.
