These were the encounters that made WOW fun. When you have instances like ICC where the only fun boss is the battleships, then everyone gets too tense and too serious, especially when you are learning the fights for the first time or bringing new people in because if 1 person screws up it usually means a wipe. It was damn fun to laugh at people who couldn't dance right. I did it heaps when I was proficient cause ppl laughed at me when I failed at it the first couple times too.

@spiro37 Really, that's one of my fondest memories of Naxx. Me, the off tank, and a single healer slowly taking down Heigan was one of the greatest parts of the raid. Maybe I'm just egotistical, but I sure felt like a hero after that.

I did this a couple weeks ago with some guildies for fun. (We're mostly Uld geared)

We actually had all but one tank and one healer die, it was a resto druid and a warrior. They 2 manned him in about thirty minutes. o_O

question, if you put heigan in the position of poison, is damage dealt to him?

He does not take the damage. And if you attempt it, you run a risk of your melee dps and OT (if you use one for this fight) of taking the poison damage and making the fight more difficult. You can slightly vary the method of kiting him. I usually try kiting him close to the center of each quarter so melee can stay behind and avoid his dodges and parries. What that allows is if the poison will hit someone, it'll be the tank and not the entire melee dps, but that method requires more coordination.

Best thing about this vid is the dps meter, really nostalgic in some way, good old stuff going naxx in heroic gear, wipe here and there and pure raid fun, now people demand you to have 5k dps or 32k hp unbuffed and a mountain of achievements just for naxx10 or OS10, not really helpfull when trying to gear alts that just hit 80.

We dont do it like that. If you're tank poistion's the boss off the platform the hole raid can stand on paltform and dps it down.. When it teleport's you then do the safety dance. GL.

true ... cross positioning on the platform and then easy safety dance (u can have dumbasses in raid - only thing they have to know is: "follow the [ fill in mark u r using for people who know what to do]" ... its much more easier to get eachievement "Safety Dance" then ..... we were able to get this achiev with pug at second try ....

If you're casters stand on far corner about one step down onto the ramp form Heigan they'll be fine, Thats one of the only cons for this tactic. If i get a chance ill post a video on it.

(it was a massive repair bill for all of us...) and honestly that was the first time i had ever raided at all, so i was the off tank. I followed the main tank but i think he didnt know what he was doing as well. watching this, we've got another naxx 10 coming up tonight, we'll see how it goes now that ive memorized the pattern. might even take over MT position, XD

Acctulay this guide is awsome...it is not an easy fight,last time we took like 4 new people and some alts to gear up in naxx we ended up killing him in 9min 37sec becuase like 4 people died and 3 of them were DPS,se we had left with 2/3rds of the fight and almost no DPS

I noticed that you never mentioned anything about "not jumping" in your video. Blizzard takes the point you jump FROM as where your character is at. One thing a lot of new people do in this encounter, is they jump right at the edge of one of the quarters. Doing this will get them hit by the poison bursts and you'll hear the all too common words, "I wasn't near it".

I just thought I'd point this out to any new people checking out this video. DO NOT JUMP DURING THE MOVES! :P

It should be said that the numbered names for the quarters is not so important. Essentially, you're just moving side to side, beginning on the west side of the room; the cycle resets after the port. It's key to visualize where the next safe zones are as you move. :D:D:D

Because Heigan has a constant AoE cast speed slow. It's very large, so healers and ranged DPS must be at max range from him at all times.

I did a raid with my guild, they called this "Safety Dance". The melee dps and tank stay on the normal ground, and healing and ranged dps stay on the stage, and when Heigan goes back on stage, its all a game of paying attention and dodging.
