  • I found your story while looking for live liver donor information. Two sisters, friends of mine, underwent this same surgery just this past Friday. The donor is recovering well but the transplant was not a success. She now waits for a new whole liver. We all trust in God's plan and know that whatever the outcome it is an amazing gift of life to donate.

  • to answer buglover3599~ NO you can not donate again and you will not be able to receive a new liver if anything happens to you.

I can say this factually, because I was a liver donor in 2005.

I am so sorry for the loss of Chads brother. I can not imagine how hard that would be on the family. But like Chad said Ryan gave the gift of life and suffered the ultimate sacrifice.

My mother was worried about me, but I told her if God decides it is my time to go, don't cry. I chose to do this.

    RIP Ryan

  • Can somebody who had a kidney donated to them and once it regenerated can they donate part of it to someone else?

  • toshnessa45 how do you know the Arnold? I'm Shannons cousin. my heart breaks for her, grahm, Owen, and Oliver, but yes I know we will see him someday soon. of you were at the funeral it's like that one guy said, to him a thousand years on earth is like one day in heaven. so by his calculations, I'll see him in a few minutes

  • Wow!! I am speechless. What an incredible story. This should be shared with everyone. The love, strength and compassion from this can inspire, help, and move so many people. Its a reminder of how short and beautiful life is. We can do so much for each other. My prayers go to the family.
