Exact same happened to me, got an open fracture to my right thigh. It was a fuckin idiot of a man though on a clear day on the 20th april 09. It was a 10 month old blue yzf600r thundercat, all bikers we need to do the thinking for these so called drivers as they forget about bikes over the winter. changed my life to after 2 operations and some metalwork on my thigh, still got a swollen knee and been told nothing more can be done,

Just a few days ago there was a lady passing 4 cars on a two lane road. She was on my side of the road when she came by me, nearly head on. I locked it up, turned around and ran her down. The 4 cars she passed moved off the road after I turned around and caught up to them let me by to catch her. My words "Are you trying to fucking kill someone you dumb bitch?!". Probably not the wisest decision to run someone down like that but my adrenaline was through the roof. Be safe guys.

In the years I've been driving I have saved a few people from causing an accident just by assuming that they might do something stupid and reacting very fast... Of course, I also did a few truly stupid things behind the wheel and was fortunate enough to come across someone with similar thinking and good reflexes who saved my ass. Ive seen bikers cutting down the service road or navigating between cars in heavy traffic (which is perfectly legal as long your moving 35mph) and have assholes chunking shit out of their windows or opening their car doors at them on purpose.

You won't have to worry about my four wheels to your two on the road. If I see bikers on the road, I intentionally pull in behind them and give them plenty of space. Not so much though, so a car can't squeeze in between me and them. I'll give them a buffer, and when we stop at a light I stop shorter than I should. Never know when the person behind you is paying attention. In case i got reared there's plenty of space for our momentum to stop before we the biker in front of me.

almost got hit the other day- pretty much the same way-instead it was a little old lady about 90yr old trying to make a left turn into Kmart- I was doing 60mph up hill with on a curve.. I saw her hesitate for a sec. that's when I let off the throttle and went for the brake.. she pulls out in a fury trying to avoid me, I leaned enough to shoot through her car and another with inches to spare. I still remember the other car driver's face with the mouth wide open as she was about to see a wreck.

Got to leave room for errors. Mostly OTHER people's error. 1 second of distraction on a bike, is life and death.

Drivers will never learn, I had my accident back in 2009, Was only doing 30 down a straight road and some oncoming car decided to turn into a junction thinking i was invisible and drove straight into the side of me, a nice 9 months recovery from practically being paralized and a future full of problems thanks to him. I think you should legally have to have bike training before you can drive a car. so do most drivers.

I always try to predict unpredictable and at the same time hope everyone else is doing the same. In the years I've been driving I have saved a few people from causing an accident just by assuming that they might do something stupid and reacting very fast... Of course, I also did a few truly stupid things behind the wheel and was fortunate enough to come across someone with similar thinking and good reflexes who saved my ass. Please think regardless of how many wheels you have under your command!

Now, I only drive a car. I cannot drive bikes anymore.
I have been driven for many years and I have made many mistakes as a driver.
And I thank each of the drivers that reacted quickly to avoid an accident because of my mistake. Of course , not intentionaly.
To pay back, I do my best to avoid accidents when somebody close to me make a mistake.
I keep in mind that many drivers are old with physical limitations.

Different oppinions but bad car drivers are careful when a big truck is around.
There are crazy bike drivers?..yes...but there are a lot more crazy car drivers.
Have you seen a bike driver putting makeup or videos while driving?
We really need a country law to stop using cell phones, putting makeup...etc.
Churches must help and tell their people they will go to hell if they do that.
I cannot imagine what I could do if one of these careless drivers kill one of my kids.

People are actually pretty negligent/malicious towards bikers in general. Ive seen bikers cutting down the service road or navigating between cars in heavy traffic (which is perfectly legal as long your moving 35mph) and have assholes chunking shit out of their windows or opening their car doors at them on purpose.
Im not a biker myself, but I show these guys due respect and attention. They have a right to the road as much as any car does.

You won't have to worry about my four wheels to your two on the road. If I see bikers on the road, I intentionally pull in behind them and give them plenty of space. Not so much though, so a car can't squeeze in between me and them. I'll give them a buffer, and when we stop at a light I stop shorter than I should. Never know when the person behind you is paying attention. In case i got reared there's plenty of space for our momentum to stop before we the biker in front of me.

Ehm yeah, and now look at it from the car drivers point of view when they're driving their normal speed (120 mostly) en some jerk on a bike passes rigth between them and a car riding next to them with 150+ kmp/h...
The the motorcyclist SHOULD have thought not for 2,but just for himself thinking well, if i have like 2 meters, they drive 120 and if i pass them with 150+,what could happen?

almost got hit the other day- pretty much the same way-instead it was a little old lady about 90yr old trying to make a left turn into Kmart- I was doing 60mph up hill with on a curve.. I saw her hesitate for a sec. that's when I let off the throttle and went for the brake.. she pulls out in a fury trying to avoid me, I leaned enough to shoot through her car and another with inches to spare. I still remember the other car driver's face with the mouth wide open as she was about to see a wreck.

If idiots on bikes would ride with caution, NOT "split lanes", ride on blind sides, and keep a safe distance, NOT speed, NOT try to pass on 2 busy two lanes, a lot of accidents would be avoided. I always say to drivers, I will kick your doors in, I will smash your mirrors, I will be quite happy to take the assault charge, BECAUSE YOU COULD HAVE FUCKING KILLED ME!!!. I had an asian guy almost back into me at a set of lights while waiting to turn right, I reacted quick enough legging it backwards, what's he smiles at me. So I am always on the edge of looking out. As long as we don't try to showboat and act stupid WITHOUT SKILL, or protective gears. I stay within 80% of my limit on the street. Got to leave room for errors. Mostly OTHER people's error. 1 second of distraction on a bike, is life and death.

Motor cycles are vulnerable to tragedy. One always has to be wary of the next driver and because of this, motorcycles are not safe. You get on a motorcycle you put your life out there.

Drivers will never learn, I had my accident back in 2009, Was only doing 30 down a straight road and some oncoming car decided to turn into a junction thinking i was invisible and drove straight into the side of me, a nice 9 months recovery from practically being paralized and a future full of problems thanks to him. I think you should legally have to have bike training before you can drive a car. so do most drivers.
I'm glad Don survived! thankfully he's another of us lucky people.

I'm sorry, but I'm not going to "look twice" or give any other special treatment to people who choose to drive unsafe vehicles. I think I see more motorcycles driving recklessly anyway, so if you choose to drive an unsafe vehicle AND drive stupidly then you deserve having your bike totaled.
