I think Carwin had the right game plan with the striking, but he got too caught up in the weight game, like Mir did. Say what you want, but Carwin did not put on 20 lbs of pure muscle, I saw more jiggle on him than when he first came to the UFC. That jiggle (fat) certainly brought on the gassing out we saw.

People are letting their disdain for Lesnar completely blind them to the fact that he's an absolute beast in the infancy of his career. I've read like 50 quotes from these know-nothing "MMA fans" saying that Brock got "lucky" Shane punched himself out in the 1st round. That is the most absurd argument i've ever heard to discredit a fighters win. Stamina is as big a part of fighting as striking, wrestling, guard, submissions etc. and Shane was outclassed by the far superior athlete.

I'll be one of the few to give Brock some credit. He was taking a beating in round 1, but had a thick enough skull to still stand up after it all. That's why Carwin lost. Brock took everything Carwin threw and still stood up, and Carwin got gassed.

I think Carwin had the right game plan with the striking, but he got too caught up in the weight game, like Mir did. Say what you want, but Carwin did not put on 20 lbs of pure muscle, I saw more jiggle on him than when he first came to the UFC. That jiggle (fat) certainly brought on the gassing out we saw.
