as an irish fan this is such an embarassing video....they dominated us almost the entire game i mean what the hell is up with those tackles? so glad we got rid of charlie
Ok, so it wasn't a fumble, it was the wrong call. Pitt still outplayed Notre Dame 3 of 4 quarters. It was going to be 4th down anyway. Too bad they didn't just call the pass incomplete, then Jimmy gets sacked on 4th down, or ND drives down the field and wins the game and ends the season at 7-5 instead of 6-6, big frickin' deal. I hate you Charlie Weis. HAIL TO PITT.
i still think that that was a forward pass and was incomplete it was the worst call i have ever seen...but then yet again......werent the refs standing on pitss sideline before they reveiwed it.....and then yet again to...there big east refs
Notre Dame IS college football. The greatest college football program of all time. 11 national championships. You can't touch that. The birth place of leaders on AND off the football field. We don't just pick up gang members off the streets and pay them to play for us (USC). We get young men who get it done in the class rooms, in the community, and on the football field. Sometimes we struggle because the academics are tough at ND and we need guys who can handle it and there aren't many who can.
@nightrida110 Notre Dame is College Football? Seriously. What have they done that was great in the last 5-10 years? Yeah, they have a good recruiting system, but come on. Notre Dame is shit and will always be 10 years down the road.
@Nick3653 11 National Championships. The All-American factory. 7 Heisman Trophy winners. Second highest winning percentage in NCAA history. Fewest losses of any program. Third most wins in NCAA history. 48 players and coaches in the College Football Hall of Fame (more than any other program). Most players sent to the NFL, 10 of whom are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame (2nd only to USC). The last couple of years don't dictate more than a century of winning tradition.
@nightrida110 You didn't answered my question. What has Notre Dame done in the last 5-10 years that was great? Absolutely nothing and get on with today's date. It's 2010, not 1970.
@Nick3653 Under Brian Kelly, we will win multiple national championships. I guarantee that. You can't talk shit about Notre Dame football. You just can't do it. If those stats don't mean anything to you, do yourself a favor and follow another sport. Like I said, the last 5-10 years don't dictate over a century. Notre Dame football can't be great all the time. We struggled for a couple of years. Now, we're on the rise.
@notredameswarrior1 Hang in there bud. This was expected. We should have gone 9-3 this year at the worst, but due to poor game management we ended up 7-5. Notre Dame Football will rise again to the top very soon and Brian Kelly is the man for the job. He will get us there. I promise you that.
@nightrida110 well i think dayne is done...with 2 knee injuries its hard to play football with that....tommy rees is 3-0 as a starter....if he is the starter next year i hope his perfection continues...i just dont care how we beat michigan next year i want it done....im sick of michigans cockey ass fans going around on hear and thinking they are the best
@Nick3653 Every team has bad stretches. Michigan is in one, Florida State is in one, Alabama was in one, Auburn was in one. Pitt has been in one for even longer than Notre Dame. There's no reason to assume that things have changed permanently.
Man these UF comments on a ND-PITT video crack me up! first off Florida is not as Historically a program as ND and Pitt. ND and Pitt at one point were the top Schools in the nation until their years of mediocracy. second UF is only great because of #15 and once he leaves the option play that he used to pick up 4-6 yeards every play will be disposed of. And finally BAMA is now the premiere program in the SEC and UF will be a back seat rider to Bama and UT soon LOL!! but anyway Go IRISH!!
UConn is a very good team, and I wasn't surprised when they beat ND. They, at the very very least, were an 8-4 team this year. You could make an argument for 9-3 or better, but the Rutgers game leading by 4 with :30 seconds left was literally a gift-wrapped victory for Rutgers. With all that they went through they were the most unforgiven team this year, even more so than Notre Dame.
ND got fucked on the Clausen "fumble". That was the 2nd time this year a blatantly wrong call was either upheld or a correct call was overturned for an incorrect one. It's ridiculous to watch a team get screwed because they happen to be on the road and the home fans can't be disappointed.
Tell me who he was throwing to! His arm was sideways because it was hit. "He whipped it forward." Its so stupid how you can just throw it forward the littlest bit and all the defence just did doesn't matter because its "a pass." So dumb. Either way they had no chance at that point because it would have been 4th down anyway. Sacked on the play prior to that so it was a 4th and long.
Doesn't matter whether you like the rule or not, a forward pass is a forward pass...it doesn't matter if it goes 1 inch.
How do you know they had no chance? You act like a team has never completed a 4th down pass before. The game was robbery, bottom line. It shouldn't have even been a close call. There was no fumble on that play. The home team always gets the calls, in any sport.
@metalfang5 Are you blind? You can clearly see his hand closed AFTER he threw the ball. How do you think he was holding onto the football if his hand was closed the whole time? Common sense, dude.
Bottom line, it's impossible for the ball to move forward without him throwing it unless he somehow punched the ball forward after it came out of his hand, which video replay shows didn't happen. It's was pure home field bull, like it is for every home team in college.
@chicomath dude i like notre dame because they always put up a fight no matter what team they play but they say that because have u noticed who is almost always an the losing end of these great games? i mean come on good team but cant get the job done so i say they are college football..........'s team that gets out played late in games
@andrew cupcake schedule? At the begining of this season this schedule was very suspect, but USC, Stanford, and Pitt no cakewalks. UCONN is 16 points away from being undefeated. BC is doing very well for themselves at 7-3
@irishzbikowski9 Yes a cupcake schedule. You fans need to understand that you can't ride the ND of the 70's and 80's. You guys aren't very good at all. Navy, Uconn, Nevada, Purdue, Michigan, Washington st? Come on man you think thats a schedule? You just lost to UConn. 16 points away from being undefeated? I was hours away from fucking Angelina Jolie, but guess what I didn't. Pitt, USC, and Stanford are the only decent teams there, and you lost to two of three. Let go of the past. Weis sucks.
This has nothing to do with the past, Florida who have they played LSU ? Charleston Southern, Troy, Florida International, don't strain your selves. Granted the SEC is consistently the toughest conference but, this year it's not. Thankfully the tide will roll on Dec. 5th. Floridas schedule is just as suspect as NDs . Now stop watching ND vids if you don 't like them, knthxbai
@irishzbikowski9 just as suspect? Really? We went 8-0 in the SEC. That doesn't happen often. ND could never win in Death Valley. Even if it was as suspect as ND, we're 11-0 and ND is 6-5. Great comparison. Funny everyone brings up our OOC schedule. We've had these cupcakes on our schedules for yrs. But we're winning NC's now so people have to focus on something I guess. The SEC might be down this yr but teams to scared to join a conference don't get an opinion.
This will be my last reply to your ignorance, Florida is undefeated congratulations, must be nice. Notre Dame does not join a conference because they make more money than any other team that is a conference does. If ND joined a conference they would lose their contract with NBC. Not to mention 34 million dollars raked in all for themselves for BCS appearances in 05 and 06 .
You make a valid point both of Bill Bellichecks coordinators were not very successful because it was still Bellichecks team and that was the reason for the Patriots success. Weis and Romeo Cronell both disappointing. Football revenue helps fund the university, so technically the money did do good, because Weis payed for his contract just in those two years, enabling the university to fund research, Notre Dames ongoing research in energy will eventually solve the nonrenewable energy crisis.
@irishzbikowski9 Actually you can use that money to buy out Weis and hire a coach with a track record of winning, not one riding the coat tails of a coach who has.
@andrew7603 Both teams have the same record this year. Just saying.
Also, too scared to join a conference? Like the Big Ten or the Big East? Notre Dame's schedule would get significantly easier if they joined either of those conferences.
commented at you up above. Again, our cupcake schedule was ranked as the 25th toughest coming into this week. Florida's was the 51st. Great win over FIU though. Way to buy a win for the 3rd time this year. Your offense was a two man team (Harvin, Tebow) the last two years, and you guys have declined drastically without Harvin. Good luck next year when you can't count on your fullback/qb to pick up 4 yards every time.
Notre Dame is plain beast.....if we werent retarted we could easily be undefeated...But even tho they were bullshit cals throughlut the year we shouldnt be losing to shit teams like pitt n navy(I still love navy). We just have so much talent...Fuck pitt
Agreed . And notice how the two biggest wtf calls have resulted in losses this and Armanda Allen "stepping out" at Michigan, the rule is supposed to be indisputable video evidence and neither of those had it but somehow both got overturned by the ruling on the field.
the NCAA better make some action tords this, i heard somethin about weis mailing tapes of the calls the refs made at the end of the game so hopfully the NCAA takes some sort of action
@tepe316 you know who needs to take action? The ND players. I can't believe with that cupcake schedule you guys look like such shit. How long is it going to take the rest of the football world to realize ND won't amount to much of anything for a long time, All the respect you guys get is based off of things you did 20-30 yrs ago. Move on and join a conference.
Jealous? Really? My teams is going for a third national title in 4 yrs. We're #1, just went undefeated in the SEC and have enough talent to stay there for a long time. But yeah I'm jealous. I only wrote because for some reason there was a ND video on the home page, not to mention people couldn't forget about ND if they tried. Every other word out of ESPN is ND this, Weis that. Trust me, the football world is over ND.
@puppynamedsultan Is that the only comeback you Irish fans have? We don't hop on the bandwagon. That's pretty sad. Some of us Florida fans suffered through the Galen Hall, Kerwin bell yrs as well as the zook yrs, so no I've been on the Florida bandwagon since I can remember. Not to mention I was born there and half my family is alumni, but yeah I just started liking them in 06. Damn guys, you need to find some fresh material. Sounds like UM fans rantin about the 80's, or OU fans and the 60-70's.
Really? If there is a Florida game on my home page (even if it a highly hyped up one like the FIU game, or the Troy game, or even the Charleston Southern one), I would never watch it. If the football world is over ND, then stop watching our videos. And our cupcake schedule? It was ranked 25th in the country coming into this week while Florida's was 51st. Sorry ND buy 3 wins a year like Florida does (FIU, Charleston Southern, Troy). But by all means keep watching our videos and commenting on them
@rkelley0133 I'm not sure how being 11-0 and ranked #1 in the country is declining. Maybe you can explain that one to me. Next yr we'll just as good. Brantley is a much better QB than your overhyped Clausen, and our offense will be more diverse, and just as fast if not faster. Also have you paid attention to UF's schedule? It's had three cupcakes for yrs and yrs. But I guess your jumpin on the bandwagon with everyone else who thinks that this started last yr. Keep up the good work.
@ndschroede23 I was wrong about that. So was Gator nation. Clausen was and still is an overhyped QB. The Gators sucked this yr. Our worst yr since 79'. But we've still been an elite school for the last 20 yrs. Notre Dame, ehh, not so much. Florida had an off yr in 07 then won the title in 08, we'll more than be back in 11'. I'm sure dame fans wish they could say the same, but you guys have been average for yrs. Can't ride those 1940's titles for ever. Join a conference.
@andrew7603 I like how you think joining a conference is going to change our being average. Is that an admission that conference play is easier? And yeah...zero titles since the '40s...um, no. Yes it's been a while but people still care. Even you, apparently. You guys are likely building a tradition but it is still in progress. ND's goes back a century. We could suck for 20 more years and people would still care.
And Jimmy Clausen is possibly the most accurate QB to come out of ND.
@JB5GoIrish It won't change you being average, but if you played in a elite conference say, Big-12, SEC, then having a decent record would account for a little more credibility. Having a winning record against army, navy, washington and nevada really doesn't hold much water. P,lus how do you think I care about ND football, that comment was over a yr ago at the peak of you're love affair with Clausen.
@andrew7603 In regards to the schedule holding water...the NCAA named our schedule this year the #1 toughest schedule in the nation. Claim it's not credible all you want. But it was #1.
@JB5GoIrish I wonder if he showed up at camp with the national title rings he won , and in a limo? Nope, no rings for Clausen, but he was an accurate passer. Fantastic!
@andrew7603 In college against the big boys his junior season he was a Heisman contender nearly all season with a 7-1 TD to INT ratio and the worst defense in the nation. In the NFL he's had it rough, but it's only been one year. You judging him already is uncalled for.
@rkelley0133 SOS Here ya go: (2006) uf #8 ND#19. (2007)UF#3 ND#24 (2008) UF#4 ND#50. Funny how you want to point out THIS YEAR.Three yrs in the top 10 SOS compared to ZERO top 10 for ND. Whats even better is Florida won the BCS Championship 2 out of those 3 yrs. Florida is 2-0 vs top 30, ND is 0-2. Where does Sagarin have the two teams rated? Hmmmmm, UF #2, ND # 46. Whats it boil down too? Winning is all that matters, not SOS. But i guess when thats all you have you cling to it. Great season ND!
@andrew7603 SOS "matters" when it's the subject of the conversation. You brought it up, you can't just ignore it once you find out that it actually hurts you. You can't just say "Notre Dame sucks because they have a bad SOS" and then say "SOS doesn't matter" when it's revealed that Florida's is actually worse.
we lost this game because of little mental mistakes, not catching passes, blowing defensive assignments, missing tackles etc. Along with the bullshit incomplete pass that was called a fumble. We can bounce back this week against UConn, GO IRISH!!!!
4:53 herby says it all. You can't fumble the ball and still launch it 10 yards down field. I legitimately think Weis has got to go. Get the ball to Allen and Tate your playmakers. Allen 5.5 yards a carry hello?. Trying to do to much with Riddick , Riddick is very good but the plays for him simply aren't there. On the 2 pt conversion Weis puts the ball in the hands of his backup TE? It's football get the ball in the hands of your best players. Best on Best not 2nd best.
@IrishFan1989 i totally agree with metalfang5. how is it not a fumble when greg romeus #91 got a hand on the ball as he was about to pull forward, and jimmy clausen had a clenched fist as it was being released from his hand.. ik it's been 8 months since you commented, but i'm just pointing it out.
isn't it against the rules to rule it dead and then switch it to a fumble? cause you don't know what would have happened if it had been a fumble

doesnt matter about the fumble it was still 4th an 19 on their own 30

the NCAA better make some action tords this, i heard somethin about weis mailing tapes of the calls the refs made at the end of the game so hopfully the NCAA takes some sort of action
tepe316 2 years ago
@tepe316 you know who needs to take action? The ND players. I can't believe with that cupcake schedule you guys look like such shit. How long is it going to take the rest of the football world to realize ND won't amount to much of anything for a long time, All the respect you guys get is based off of things you did 20-30 yrs ago. Move on and join a conference.
andrew7603 2 years ago
the fact that you took the time to post a comment about ND means one thing=jealousy
rkelley0133 2 years ago
Jealous? Trust me, the football world is over ND.
andrew7603 2 years ago
well notredame fans stick with there team unlike u who hopps on the florida bandwaggon
puppynamedsultan 2 years ago
@puppynamedsultan Is that the only comeback you Irish fans have? We don't hop on the bandwagon. That's pretty sad. Some of us Florida fans suffered through the Galen Hall, Kerwin bell yrs as well as the zook yrs, so no I've been on the Florida bandwagon since I can remember. Not to mention I was born there and half my family is alumni, but yeah I just started liking them in 06. Damn guys, you need to find some fresh material. Sounds like UM fans rantin about the 80's, or OU fans and the 60-70's.
andrew7603 2 years ago
But by all means keep watching our videos and commenting on them
rkelley0133 2 years ago
@rkelley0133 I'm not sure how being 11-0 and ranked #1 in the country is declining. Maybe you can explain that one to me. Next yr we'll just as good. Brantley is a much better QB than your overhyped Clausen, and our offense will be more diverse, and just as fast if not faster. Also have you paid attention to UF's schedule? It's had three cupcakes for yrs and yrs. But I guess your jumpin on the bandwagon with everyone else who thinks that this started last yr. Keep up the good work.
andrew7603 2 years ago
@andrew7603 "Brantley is a much better QB than your overhyped Clausen, and our offense will be more diverse, and just as fast if not faster"
Hahaha oh man, this is the next best thing to a time machine.
ndschroede23 1 year ago
@ndschroede23 I was wrong about that. So was Gator nation. Clausen was and still is an overhyped QB. The Gators sucked this yr. Our worst yr since 79'. But we've still been an elite school for the last 20 yrs. Notre Dame, ehh, not so much. Florida had an off yr in 07 then won the title in 08, we'll more than be back in 11'. I'm sure dame fans wish they could say the same, but you guys have been average for yrs. Can't ride those 1940's titles for ever. Join a conference.
andrew7603 1 year ago
@andrew7603 I like how you think joining a conference is going to change our being average. Is that an admission that conference play is easier? And yeah...zero titles since the '40s...um, no. Yes it's been a while but people still care. Even you, apparently. You guys are likely building a tradition but it is still in progress. ND's goes back a century. We could suck for 20 more years and people would still care.
And Jimmy Clausen is possibly the most accurate QB to come out of ND.
JB5GoIrish 1 year ago
@JB5GoIrish It won't change you being average, but if you played in a elite conference say, Big-12, SEC, then having a decent record would account for a little more credibility. Having a winning record against army, navy, washington and nevada really doesn't hold much water. P,lus how do you think I care about ND football, that comment was over a yr ago at the peak of you're love affair with Clausen.
andrew7603 1 year ago
@andrew7603 In regards to the schedule holding water...the NCAA named our schedule this year the #1 toughest schedule in the nation. Claim it's not credible all you want. But it was #1.
JB5GoIrish 1 year ago
@JB5GoIrish I wonder if he showed up at camp with the national title rings he won , and in a limo? Nope, no rings for Clausen, but he was an accurate passer. Fantastic!
andrew7603 1 year ago
@andrew7603 You called him overhyped. I am simply telling you his talent equals the hype. His attitude, maybe not so much.
JB5GoIrish 1 year ago
@JB5GoIrish He had high school talent. How did he do playing the big boys in college? How is all that "NFL Talent" translating this yr? 1-11?
andrew7603 1 year ago

Great season ND!
andrew7603 2 years ago
@andrew7603 SOS "matters" when it's the subject of the conversation. You brought it up, you can't just ignore it once you find out that it actually hurts you. You can't just say "Notre Dame sucks because they have a bad SOS" and then say "SOS doesn't matter" when it's revealed that Florida's is actually worse.
ndschroede23 1 year ago
@andrew7603 "have enough talent to stay there for a long time"
hahahahahahahaha
Oh man, you must loooove that comment now.

we came back down 20 points pretty much just comes to show if we would of played our potential for 3 quarters we would of blown them out
83turk 2 years ago 2
It's because one of Pitt's defensive backs left the game.
pakkitman 2 years ago
we lost this game because of little mental mistakes, not catching passes, blowing defensive assignments, missing tackles etc. Along with the bullshit incomplete pass that was called a fumble. We can bounce back this week against UConn, GO IRISH!!!!
bigfinley2011 2 years ago
4:53 herby says it all. You can't fumble the ball and still launch it 10 yards down field. I legitimately think Weis has got to go. Get the ball to Allen and Tate your playmakers. Allen 5.5 yards a carry hello?. Trying to do to much with Riddick , Riddick is very good but the plays for him simply aren't there. On the 2 pt conversion Weis puts the ball in the hands of his backup TE? It's football get the ball in the hands of your best players. Best on Best not 2nd best.

Still wasn't a fumble, big error. Tate for Heisman.
IrishFan1989 2 years ago 4
@IrishFan1989 i totally agree with metalfang5. how is it not a fumble when greg romeus #91 got a hand on the ball as he was about to pull forward, and jimmy clausen had a clenched fist as it was being released from his hand.. ik it's been 8 months since you commented, but i'm just pointing it out.
