@softballa13tondalayo it's done on purpose in some places, it adds to the dramatic effect. You'll see with ep 7 of season 2. The animation is really good, even though it's drawn poorly, and it's done that way to express the emotion of the situation.

I'm surprised that the original voice actress, Alex McCord was not asked to reprise her role of Birdy. The new one, Luci Christian is a good 2nd choice for a character like Birdy. I do remember a previous interview found in the internet that Alex would like to do Birdy The Mighty but because her changed actress status of being union member of the Actor's Guild prevent her to do anime work.
