Wouldn't it be easier if you were to use HDMI input from ps3 and HDMI output to your tv? so basically have 2 HDMI's instead of 1 HDMI and 1 Component.
I have just got black magic pro and i am using these vids to help. So far everything is installed and ready to go. However, i have a problem. I don't have a TV, i play my ps3 on my monitor, and to watch my ps3 gameplay i switch from VGA(PC) to HDMI(PS3). So everything is connected to my monitor instead of a TV. Is there anyway you can help me. PLEASE RESPOND! I hope i don't have to buy a TV...
Ok, maybe you can help me: I had all this stuff set up once but I took my console to a friend and had to use HDMI. After I wanted to set up all this stuff again ... it just doesn't work anymore. I made everything like you explained it in your video, I tried every possible setting after that didn't work but still ... nothing. I'm not using a TV to display this stuff so I have to get the picture onto my pc but I can't see anything.
Ok i have everything set up my HDMI from TV to---->PC..the blowout plug from PC connected to my AV component cables that go into my PS3. Settings are all fine the recording looks 720p which is great. Now when i try to record itll record for 1 second and then say Black magic design cannot capture because one or more frames were dropped? What does that mean? should i Set my preference and unclick the box where it says stop recording when detecting dropped frames?
Not having alot of luck with ps3. xbox comes through fine with the lastest drivers & hdmi. Im using the component breakout cable for the ps3, but the latest intensity pro drivers (7.9.3) show different options for input/output. Im just trying out older drivers/software now for intensity and media express, and now i do see the hdmi Y-R-Y etc setting, but still no luck. Just black screens in media express. Can you tell me the version numbers of intensity & media express you are using
Hey man, I installed the card in th ps3, and got component cables and all that stuff but now Im at the part with the double beep and showing up on the tv aswell as on the pc but It won't work for me, I dont get it on tv and neither on pc, I dont know what Im doing wrong help me pleasE?
@alex21186 make sure the display settings are set right under component and 720p when doing the changes, this matching the settings under Black magic program to work
How is the latency in the live preview when viewing your PS3 on the computer? For example: If you are commenting over some gameplay on something through your mic, is the gameplay video/audio a little out of sync from the mic audio?
YO!! i got that same setup and tanks to you i got it to work but... when i record i get dropped frames and the audio isnt in sync.. and also the file size is like 5 gigs... wht should i do to fix these issues.?
@KllassIIK It shows on what you have plugged in as your input and you have to have the capture card program running in order to display on your tv screen. If you have the program closed you would just get a black screen.
Question. I was going to get a hd pvr next week but afetr seeing black magic i now changed my mind but since you had to set it to composite does is it still in hd or the quality is a bit shiter please write back.
Hi, many thx for video, but I'm stuck with my situation. I've done all things right (plug-in connections, reseting ps3, latest drivers, settings), checked many times, but there is no picture in MediaExpress v.2 (Win7)...it shows only "No Remote". Maybe I have "bad" component cable?
@declored In the video I said that it doesn't show the picture for me either on MediaExpress but I use a separate program to view it (FML for streaming/recording). So use a 3rd party program for the actual recording and MediaExpress for just the settings/configurations.
"Hey, sorry if i bother you but since you've already connected your ps3 to the blackmagic i'd like to ask for a little help. The problem is that i can't get the ps3 on screen before i hit "Capture" on the media express v2 software. Do you know what's this problem about? Thanks for your time."
@BenjyPrice99 be sure on the media express settings is set right on the display, also bmip has trouble picking up signal quickly so it might take a bit to show up on the screen.
Just wanting to confirm since you prefer to use the mic alone. Have you tried or know if you can get audio from the BMI itself show up as an option on FME? I prefer that than getting audio from the microphone port on my computer. Thanks.
Can I do this but use hdmi in an out coming from the intesity pro ? Like hdmi in from ps3 and then hdmi out into my tv and still record??? Please reply
Hey I really appreciate your help. Thanks for making this video.. It was super easy just to follow your insturctions. I would have tried to make the HDMI-in & HDMI-out to work. You saved me a lot of down time.. Thanks again.. -btw if you like check out my videos i use the capture card to record gameplay.. Also check your PM i sent you a message.
yeah I believe if it has a built in sound mixer in the sound card I can but I'm pretty happy using the mic alone. The mic is really good since it can capture sound 360 around it.

How does your tv show the ps3 in component 720p when you're using the hdmi in the back of the tv? :\

No, like I said HDMI with a ps3 on input is not going to work, the only way for the highest quality is with a component cable.
