  • if there really was a wolf, the two babies would be wolf lunch

  • The last roman emperor was Constantine XI, a brave man who never cowed against his enemies, in better times he would have made a magnificent ruler but at least he decided to fight the empire's last battle with courage and died defending his capital, constantinople. Not a pushover child that was a puppet, spread the word! The empire fell in a battle to death in 1453AD, not cowering behind mere barbarians in 476AD

  • earth 4 billion years Roman empire 1000 years when will we learn civilizations like these will come and go in the blink of time.

  • They don't even mention that Rome was first a Kingdom ruled over by the Etruscans then a Republic. It wasn't an Empire 'til after Gaius Julius Caesar's death!

  • @SubjectAlpha100 depends of your defiition of Empire. If you dont consider conquering enemies with military and economic power then...yes, Rome was NOT an Empire untill Octavian....

  • @johnkerry7 True. Based on the actions of Rome across its history, they acted in an Emperial fashion. I meant "Empire" as they style of government that was present at the latter part of Rome's history. I concede to your point however; in a sense, Rome was always an Empire.

  • @SubjectAlpha100 Well I'd like to see more - if at all- on the Etruscans and the Kings of Rome, but I'm told the latter for a start is a bit lost in time for knowledge.

  • So the Rome began and ended under a dude named Romulus

  • the romans wrent arabs

  • Rome was a great empire. Britannia is proud to have been part of it.

  • @TheLiberalKnight sorry if I ask you this?

    This is true? O_O

I'm interested in know the opinion of a truly british people...

  • In 395 AD following the death of Theodosius the Great the Roman Empire was permanently divided into the Western Roman Empire led by Honorius and the Eastern Roman Empire led by Arcadius...the western empire was dissolved in 476 AD when Odoacer and his Goths invaded Rome and deposed the last western emperor Romulus Augustus while the eastern empire was dissolved in 1453 AD when the Ottomans captured it's capital Constantinople...

  • Rome started debasing its currency in 54 AD (by the infamous Nero). Deficit spending was first introduced by Augustus and began spiraling out of control as open-handedness and entitlements for the army and citizens made emperors fear not spending enough.

America began debasing the dollar in 1933 and completely debased its currency by 1971, followed by a period of heavy inflation. Deficit spending began spiraling out of control after 2001 as politicians feared restricting entitlements.

  • @yTubeBlowsBigBalls The time when Rome start her debasing were whe Comodus take the imperial sit... Even the OWN romans believe that... Dion Casius tell that when Commodus starts to gobern over the empire ends the age of gold and starts the age of steel and rust... u.u

  • This is what SHOULD be running on the history channel.

  • @Antiks72 you are correct, I am so tired of reality shows of every kind.

  • how did the empire fall?? can someone explain

  • The roman empire fell in AD 1453 with the fall of its eastern capital Constantinople (Byzantium) not in AD 475 with the fall of Rome. Rome itself was actually re-taken a century later (along with many of its former western provinces)by the emperor Justian in AD 555. The view presented is therefore simplistic and built on a fundamental misconception of history.

  • @halothewynd1

roman empire, as an united empire has fallen in 476 AD. The empire you are talking about is Byzantium empire and that is not the same thing.

  • @kraken205

Glad for your interest but I'm afraid that you're incorrect in maintaining that the Roman and Byzantium empire were not the same thing! Byzantium/Constantinople was made the capital of the eastern half of the empire for administrative purposes, by the emperor Constantine . This half of the empire continued to prosper after the fall of Rome . Under the Eastern Emperor Justinian for example, many of its former western provinces, including Rome itself, were eventually recaptured.

  • @halothewynd1

I see you are intersted in Rome and you are right, Byzantium did florish long after 476 AD, but many attempts of Byzantium to return the glory of Roman Empire, including to recapture the city of Rome have fallen with great casualties and costs.

  • @kraken205

The name of "Byzamtium Empire" is only a made-up by people on coming ages. They called themselves "Roman Empire".

  • @tacticaldeathstrike and they marched for the Senate and People of Rome untill Constantinople fell :D

  • @kraken205 Since 212 AD (Constitutio Antoniniana), all the free men of the empire were Roman citizens. So, a man could be Roman without being from the city of Rome. The empire was oecumenical and its citizens considered themselves as the rightful rulers of all the lands the empire once had. The Romans until their fall (1453) never waived their rights on these lands. I don't think they were less glorified because they didn't possess Rome. Besides, Constantinople was the Nova Roma.

  • Comment removed

  • @halothewynd1 Mate,I think that Byzantium is Greek.

  • @avlopaoki Byzantium was not greek. It's a synonym to "eastern rome". Rome was split into two, and the western part fell earlier than the eastern part. Rome did adopt hellenistic culture as its own, but it was still the roman empire.

  • THE BYZANIUM IS GREEK

    @Hyperaktiviteten DEATH  TO Scandinavian ANIMALS.

  • @unfukkkmee Aww, that's just uncalled for. Mooses are nice animals.

  • @Hyperaktiviteten MOSES WAS ARAB WITH JEWISH RELIGION

  • @unfukkkmee ... You don't know what a moose is, do you?

  • @Hyperaktiviteten SHUT UP

  • @unfukkkmee Well, aren't you just an intelligent soft spoken lad.

  • @halothewynd1 You're right, but this is refering to the western empire (only italy and dalmatia in 476). The reconquest by Justinian did not last very long, and even in the years when Rome was controlled, it was just a place of honor, and NOT authority. The emperor was permanently in the east.

  • @halothewynd1 You're being pedantic. The Byzantine Empire has always been distinguished from the Latin Roman empire. The culture was completely different, the language was different, and the religion was different. They even had different emperors. So just shut up.

I'm sure the people who made the documentary have a far superior historical knowledge than your own.

  • @keylovesrosie not true at all. The eastern empire continued to fight for the Senate and people of Rome untill they fell 1000 years AFTER the fall of the west. They considerd themselves to be Roman in that sense, even though they adopted a more Greek culture.

  • @johnkerry7 ah, to that point then yes, Rome did not become the Roman Empire proper untill Octavian became Augustus.

  • @halothewynd1 It was continued. One of the brothers of the last emperor was the great grandfather of Ivan the terrible, so the eastern half was finally destroyed in 1918. The western half was continued by the Papacy in the 10th century when they had crowned the Frankish king the emperor of the new Holy Roman Empire, which eventually became the German Empire, the Third Reich, and finally with Gestapo officials emigrating to America to create the CIA, the United States.

  • @d3ltadrive The greek & roman mentality didn't give importance to the racist concept of the "royal blood". That's a frankish obsession. The fact that some Roman lords escaped the Fall and made families in Russia doesn't make Russia Roman

The same happens with Western Europe. Charlemagne was a Frank; the Pope crowned him Imperator Romanorum to justify his power but this doesn't make him Roman. The Roman emperor was the one whose throne was in Nova Roma/Constantinople. The Franks are simply Franks

  • @d3ltadrive some people like you, full his mouth with shit u.u

how you can stand your own lies?

  • @halothewynd1 The fall of Western Rome in 475 was the symbolic fall of the empire though. Although those in the east still considered themselves "Romans", they had abandoned Latin in exchange for Greek, and practiced Eastern Orthodox Christianity. They were Byzantines in every sense of the word, from their culture to their architecture. Although some of the old territories were recaptured, Rome itself was terribly depopulated and desolate after the Germanic tribes took over.

  • macdonads and wrestling for americans bread and ciscuses for romans things havent changed much

  • @ukusapillage USA is no Rome.

  • a she wolf? that look like asena turkic-mongol legend

  • Thanks for posting this, this was an interesting documentary!

  • Seriously people? Why is everyone on here talking about how America "sucks"?

  • I like what the great Julius Cesar did "Fuck republicans, i'ma make this shit ma empire" xD

  • Technically the Roman entity survived for about 2000 years if you count the republic and the Byzantine empire.. ANYWAY, how about egypt?? 2500 years, anyone? :p Or, of course, the dynasties in China..

  • @starionpatrol The Chinese empire lasted about 2400 years, and if you consider the chinese "nation" (as in the people that think themselves as chinese even without an emperor), we could stretch it out to 2500 and still chuggin'

  • @tehredmage

But you forget the Chinese has many different dynasties that has popped up to replace the the other one, so in reality they never had an empire to last 2400, in fact the China now isn't an empire either, it is just a nation. If you really wanted to compare it with Rome you would have to pick the Han Dynasty that was at the same time as Rome and was thriving quite well.

  • @Pulverizer10 ... which is why I said Nation. It's right there. Also, you can't call different dynasties as different empires, after all, the Roman Empire (as in, the post-republic empire), lasted about 450 years (admittedly, the byzantine empire lasted about a thousand more, but that's not the case, they were... different). The Han lasted about 400 years. Pretty comparable.

  • Actually, Denmark where I come from is one of the oldest exsisting nations in the world. USA was formed somewhere in 1700. Denmark was found somwhere 1000. And also there is talk about the romans the persians and the greeks. When was it that Greece came back from being controlled by the Ottoman Empire? 1800 something? The persians got taken over even thought they now live as Iran. And the Roman Empire crashed.

  • What the fuck does America have to do with the video?

  • @DasKronprinz alot more than u think

  • @DasKronprinz

Not anything more than Great Britain. People are just fucking idiots.

  • @DasKronprinz

why does it have to do anything with this video? why are you writing stupid comments

  • @DasKronprinz america in many ways is suffering from the same things rome did before it fell, if you read you history, maybe you would see that yourself before it bites you on the ass.

  • wtf?!why is evry 1 talking about the fall of rome?it never fell,i mean look at our culture, our armies, our alphabets!rome WAS the europe and it is still part of us,its deep inside our countrys, and our population.

  • @darnjack0roll Rome fell as a country and that's what the ppl are talking about

  • A republic wasnt built to last its to corruptable to weak,a monarchy is built to fall as well rellying on one soul leader fo direction. In truth goverment is a fake creation to empower those who came first, regardless of whatever goverment it is it will fall. Some will last long, some will live like communism (huge span small period of rule). In truth the world is set on an organazational tract to die...

  • By 189BC withe defeat of Antiochus III and the capture of Ambracia the Roman republic ruled the mediterean. The empire lasted untill 602 with the assasination of Maurice the last Roman emperor. The Empire endured in a different form from 602 up to the fall of the kingdom of Trapezus in 1461. David Comnenus was the last Roman king. It was the greatest civilization the word had ever seen.

  • For one a republic just means a government that doesnt have one absolute ruler or king. An emperor is an absolute rule. SO that answers that. There isnt much of a difference between an absolute monarch and an empire except for that in a monarchy its a king and queen and in empire its an emperor. For example during the monarchy rome had a series of kings.

  • Fuck Britain, fuck America! These comments have nothing to do with the video.

  • My two favorite civs are rome and america. Because they were and are the best

  • Mussolini was a fucking idiot who should have had Hitler assasinated lol! Then, just imagine if the Italians really got their act together and what might have been. No harm in wondering.

  • Weird thing I realised was that his name was Romulus....

  • Rome was the only major power in the region, today there are more, the US, China, India and the EU. I dont think the US will fall as a major power but it will have less influece in the world.

  • Islam actually caused the ultimate demise of Classical Civilization.

  • 1000 years is a respectable period for an empire. America has lasted for 200 years. 1/5th of the way there. Will it break Rome's record? I doubt it.

  • @redarrowhead2 USA isnt even an empire, its only a super power which kinda isnt the same ^^

  • ROFL, US have no history and will never have as Rome/Persian/Greeks. US is just a pussy country with nukes everyone can have nukes

  • @dannelit0w We can kick ass without nukes.

  • @jmrm84 I doubt that, since the United States will severly punish thoses whose they think is developing nuclear arms, remember what they did to Iraq, just a little suspicion and they are ready and will attack, blow up buildings, etc, invade and remove head of State and hang him before a crowd.

  • @dannelit0w lol, ok first off before i start im not even American, just a random Canadian.. but Dan.. your no better than them if you talk like them.. You just make yours look bad as well, especially if you talk like a Jr. high student..

  • @dannelit0w how could you say that. Our democratic system has led us to becoming the worlds most powerful country. Rome and emrica go hand in hand. We are the only superpower the only country that comes close is china. And even they cower in the might of our military. Even without nukes we have the worlds most powerful military. So go back to your own country where its probably communist/dictatorship.And we arent pussys. iNfact we are the opposite. We get involved in every major conflict and

  • @JJMCPS Without your nukes, you will not be the most powerful miltitary in the world, Russia will be. America will never give up its nukes, just like Russia will never give up it nukes, if they do, United States will attack. Because of having nukes, U.S is the most powerful country in the world.

  • @dannelit0w usa is writting history for 200 years the new roman empire rolf for been stupid

  • @nik303ful since when has the us ever had history??????

  • @trackdown1011 since when??? i dont know my pc is american the music i love is american my best clothes are american my best movies. america is writting history the last 200 years and continues as i said even you know their lang

  • @dannelit0w fuck you, U.S.A. is and will be the greatest country in the world for EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheMrmgeezy i don't know about that but it will surely be remembered as the only country where obesity and ignorance for the surrounding world became part of the culture. I would never replace the little and militarily weak country i live in with "the mighty" USA, where everything is worse - fat ugly women, disgusting fast food and an idiotic level of "culture".

  • @thepredatorpl And for some reason, American culture dominates the world over. It sounds like you are bitter, and taking cheap shots.

  • @AntiquityCentury21, "American culture" - meaning stupid Hollywood movies, alful fast food, extremely low quality musc etc. dominate the vast masses in every country simply because in every country the vast masses are uneducated and stupid. Tell me where in the world the high classes of society - the educated and intelligent people like that culture? Where in the world is Lady Gaga or Snoop Dog consirered higher quality than Bocelli or the works of Mozart? US produces culture for the stupid.

  • @thepredatorpl Look, I think a lot of Hollywood movies are stupid (although there are others I enjoy), I enjoy fast food occasionally, I like some American music, but not all, but this does not make me go on angry tirades on a youtube video about the decline and fall of Rome. And of course, the vulgar masses have never been associated with high class culture, what's new then? I think it is stupid to make blanket generalizations and condemnations, only the truly uncultured do that!

  • @TheMrmgeezy in your dreams that is

  • @dannelit0w True, there are many nations which now have nukes. But that doesn't make them the economic and military superpower of the world, now does it? America still holds that mantle even after the 2008 economic troubles, although China is slowly regaining her former glory.

  • @dannelit0w So you are from Sweden?? Hahaha, the most pussy country in the world.

  • @dannelit0w Not just any countries can have nukes, you have to develop them secretly and if the U.S does not catch you, you might be allowed to have it; otherwise you get beat up like Iraq.

  • @xray608 did u know U.S cant decide if a country can make a nuke or not. haha U.S sucks they always think they own everyone but we saw that in vietnam hahahahhahahahahahhaa

  • @xray608 I have to say three letters now. L.O.L.

Iraq was just conquered because of oil and things like this because the USA holds the old european strategy of imperialism. For now, Russia, China and the USA are the only Empires.Russia holds the most land. The USA have got the most influence of western capitalism and own most of the western world by controlling them.China is the biggest power in the east, controlling former known nations like Tibet.

Maybe they are even the three biggest dictatures

  • @redarrowhead2 at least so far weve had less civil wars than Rome did at this point.

  • @redarrowhead2 it doesnt have the powers that rome did at its hieght, and its already on the colapse with its econamy and in fighting politically

  • @redarrowhead2 Yep. Americans and British are just jealous of great civilisations like Rome and China, Rome has an Empire Status of 1,000 years and China has an Empire Status for 2,133 years America and Britain?? British-300+ America-200 years.

  • @PakistaniisPower rome had an empire status for around 500 years. Before that it was a republic.and before that a monarchy. SO get you facts straight before you comment

  • @redarrowhead2 HEy take a world history class and anyone of your teachers will say that rome was not an empire for a thousand years. It was only and empire for around 500. and it had other governments before that. Like a monarchy and a republic

  • @JJMCPS Could you please explain the differnce between a absolute monarch and an emperor? Why can't a republic be an empire?

  • @redpaw550 During the republic it had senators, checks and balances, and consuls (ceasers). In the empire. It just had emperors such as emperor theodosius, nero, caligula, trajan, hydgran.

  • @JJMCPS No, dont change the subject. I asked you to state the differnce between an empreor and an absolute monarch! An emperor is an absolute monarch you know!

  • @JJMCPS A political republic can still be a geopolitical empire.

  • @redarrowhead2 "1000 years is a respectable period for an empire. America has lasted for 200 years. 1/5th of the way there. Will it break Rome's record? I doubt it."

Its actually 2000 years. when the west fell the Eastern part lived on until 1453 with the fall of Constantinople.

Historians always seem to view the eastern Roman empire as if it was not the Roman empire but it was.

  • @BurningFiresofIce Well technically it was the byzantine empire. The actual roman empire of julius ceaser and augustus is the real roman empire everyone refers too. ALthough you are correct in a way because it was known as the eastern roman empire until about 550AD when it was made into byzantine.

  • @JJMCPS I am not sure if this has been answered yet but the Eastern Roman Empire was never called the Byzantine Empire until 100 years after its destruction. Calling it that would be like calling the British Empire the London Empire. After the destruction of the west the east was given the names the Roman Empire, Empire of the Romans, Empire of the Greeks and Rhomais by its people.

  • @redarrowhead2 America is not rome, will never be. its just another country.

  • @Jaeger2011 it already is just look at the parallels

  • @redarrowhead2 If America does not last that long, then what does that say about weaker or smaller Nations?

  • @redarrowhead2 The Colonial Era in America counts as part of that run, as long as there is established civilization. I'd put it at 300+ years so far.

  • @redarrowhead2 America isn't an empire.

  • @sandree7 maybe, if you consider the vast bases America has around the world.

  • @sandree7 Sadly, America has become an empire. Not in the traditional sense but still an empire. I think we have about 700 bases in 130 countries and consider that Puerto Rico, the marinias islands, guam and others are American protectorates. The influence America exercises around the world is, in some ways, stronger than the old Roman empire. Yes we are a new kind of empire and it is breaking us to keep it up.

  • @LaserBeam002 You're right. My old idea of an empire is a nation with a lot of territory. America has a lot of power, that's true, also in Europe, so you can count it as an empire. But I think that power is weakening, especially since the fall of the Berlin wall. But as history shows, no empire lasts forever (although the Romans did a great job :D)

  • @redarrowhead2 Arn't England,Greece and egypt older then Rome?

  • @redarrowhead2 were about half as old as the Roman Republic, I doubt we'll beat the age of the Republic before the TRUE American Empire is born.

  • @redarrowhead2

actually the Roman Civilization lasted over 2000 years if you count the Eastern Roman Empire

  • @redarrowhead2

The United States of America is not an empire.

  • @PoppingSanta yes, the USA is an empire. the last empire and all empire was fallen, Rome, Zarist Russia, Napoleon France. USA WAS BE DESTROYED!

  • @BOSSRONNY97

Umm...nooo, the United States of America is not an empire.

And even though you are Italian, maybe you should work on you english a little or take some more time writing your comments.

  • @PoppingSanta allora, usa google traduttore: L'IMPERIALISMO AMERICANO ESISTE E SE E' IMPERIALISMO E' UN IMPERO. MASSONICO.

  • @BOSSRONNY97

USA Is not an Empire, end of story.

  • @PoppingSanta gatto che vomita, gli stati uniti sono l'ultimo impero esistente, e finirà come tutti gli altri imperi.

  • @BOSSRONNY97

Gatto che vomita got translated to "the cat barfs" so I really don't understand what you mean byt that.

The United States of America will fall, just like everyother country sooner or later will fall. But I know that the end of the US will come much quicker than for most other countries. But that does not change the fact that THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS NOT A GOD DAMNED EMPIRE.

  • @redarrowhead2 Its actully longer then 1000 years. The Easterns Roman Empire did not fall until May1453 with the fall of Constantinople

  • Why the hell is there a BOX in the middle of the video?? blocking the view??

Why whould i subscribe to anyone who i have no intrest in watching their videos?I just wanna see the bloody documentary.

Why whould someone else who wants subscribers ,subscribe to someone else just to get a subscription? If they have no genuine intrest in wathing the vids on the channel why whould you sub??

Retarded i what it is. Missing the point of subscribing its not how many you have but how many watch

  • @BurningFiresofIce It's because he didn't want his main account to get taken down or suspened if this video was filed for copyright dumbass.

  • @XxCalypsoxX616

What does that have to do with Subfoursub?

  • @BurningFiresofIce it means he might sub to you if you sub to him idiot. -_-

  • @XxCalypsoxX616 Omg retard i know what it means. Thats not my point did you even read my previous posts??

  • @BurningFiresofIce Your the one who isn't being clear. If you didnt know u can turn off anootations or "the box" as u call it. Subfoursub is what i explained to you. either you so idiotic that you can't even write a comment that makes NO SENSE or you haven't read MY comments. I was just answering your questions.

  • @XxCalypsoxX616 Didn't know that lol thanks turned it of. But my subfousub point still stands. Reason of sub is to have a genuine intrest in watching someones work. Whats the point in subscribing for someone elses subscription who is not interested in the work one does anyway?

  • @BurningFiresofIce That way they can get closer to a Youtube partnership. Basically after subscribing to 2000 people and 2000 people subscribing to you you can get money for any videos you put up. Some people use bots for stuff like that though.

  • @redarrowhead2 Nope, because America is eating her own right now.

  • @redarrowhead2 Roman Empire: 28BC-1453AD. That's 1500 years. If you count the founding of Rome, the Kingdom and the Republic era of Rome, (which account for another 700 years). 771BC-1453AD, that roughly amounts to 2200 years free Romans have existed. So America doesn't even scratch the surface in that regard with its 200 year history. However there are other parallels between America and the Roman Empire.

  • @redarrowhead2 You can thank George Bush for taking away America's superpower status. Wreckless, unfunded foreign wars while pushing tax cuts for the rich all the while destroying the middle and lower classes in our society.

  • @redarrowhead2 America hasn't even had an empire and it will never reach the level of world influence that countries like Britain or Rome had, as much as you'd like to think you have. America is not a hyper power, it is a super power. This is one step lower than the power countries like Spain and Britain used to enjoy.,

  • @TheLiberalKnight America (USA) is just a economical power, like Rome, Britain, Spain or France will never be a cultural power...

we debt a lot to the Romans, Britons, Spaniards and France... Greetings from America (Latin)

  • @AllanGarcia88 HA HA HA! Britain is one of the biggest cultural powers in the world! We have fucking massive income through our musical artists!

  • @TheLiberalKnight Well, I like a lot British music more than the latin music (the genders like reguetton make me puke ._.) But I think that every part of europe have at least one apport to the main kain/maincaind (sorry, I don't remember the word, I hope you understand =) )

    greetings!!

  • @AllanGarcia88 Fair enough

  • no denying that! and im not even british!

  • @123DROCK Nukes, or any other manifestations of high technology, are useless if noone chooses to use them. America has the most expensive army in the world. America's army is widening the gap on technological advances in its military every year. Hell, Western European nations relied on USA's spending for their military since ww2. Does it mean anything? No. The USA can't control a shithole like iraq in 10 years and, meanwhile, we have the most onerous "rules of engagement" in all of history.

  • Rome, the greatest civilization that has ever existed and will ever exist. They kicked so much ass it is insane, constantly at war witgh ancient barbarian people. Rome had building while the entire world had huts, they had aqueducts, trade, coinage, a standing army with universal equipment. The fathers of Western Civilization

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh Dont forget the chinese, they were romes greatest adversaries in civilasation.

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh Dont forget that Roman got alot of its Ideals from Greece,

  • @KozMick1 the Romans did get a lot of ideas from the Greeks but remember the Romans took religion, culture and ideas from all the different culture that surrounded them

the roman gladius(short legion sword) came fromt he celtic tribes in Spain, their ships where copied and imprived design from the people of Carthage, religion based on the Greeks.

  • Orly? Persians wrote first chapter of human rights, and had the most advanced building and engeneering world have ever seen. Greeks! the founder of democracy.

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh You need to retake world history. The Chinese had a great civilization aswell, so did the Mayans and Aztecs in the Americas. So were Carthage, Egypt, the Middle East, etc.

  • @Obelisk155 lol that is what morons always say, the Romans were the greatest empire to have ever lived in the history of mankind

in the world today everyone knows who Julius Caesar is, who knows the name of a bunch of idiot chinese emperors, Aztects or anyone else. The Romans are number one so anyone else does not matter

  • @tHeWasTeDYouTh I would disagree with you here, it was great, but not the greatest in history. How about more recent empires and nations? Is Rome greater than the British Empire, which once covered more than a quarter of the Earth's land surface. How about the United States?

The only reason Julius Caesar is popular is because the Europeans tried to "colonize" the world. And the people of Europe at the time were descended from the Germanic tribes, not Romans.

  • @Obelisk155 You should really take a world history course, and then tell me if Rome is the greatest. And high school history doesn't count.

  • @Obelisk155 have you even read Roman history from the kings, the republic and then the empire

It is an epic tale man, Rome when compared to the people of that time were so superior. They had a freaking standing army paid by taxes(remember middle ages that did not happen, knights) rule of laws, huge trade empire, defeat of most of the KNOWN people of the world( first the people of the italian peninsula, tha gausl, germanic tribes, greeks, parthians......) the Romans kicked so much ass

  • 1229 years without byzantine

  • rome actually lasted 2000 years if you include the Byzantine empire which was the eastern roman empire

  • No, not 50 tohusand, 150 thousand.

  • everyone wants america to go down just like the barbarians waned every piece of rome. I know it will happen because nothing lasts forever, BUT make no mistake the United States will be remembered forever as the last beacon of hope and peace in this volatile, hostile world we live in.

  • @jen112233445566 nicely said

  • @jen112233445566 So was Rome. The USA was inspired by the Republic of Rome.Nothing lasts forever, obviously- The USA may just transform into something else. Hell, even if it does fall as the Roman Empire did? I doubt it will be the last beacon of hope- Perhaps a stronger, even better society will come of it just as most of the world entire became Democratic Governments 2,000 years after Rome, based on her form of government.

  • jen112233...
