  • This piece was featured in the soundtrack of 28 Days Later, when they were driving into Manchester and the whole city was on fire. It was used to great effect. Been a Faure fan ever since.

  • Não percebo o que faz ali o Richard Strauss?

  • just maked me want to cry...soo beautifully emotional

  • the man in the last picture is not Fauré , its Richard Strauss.

  • I was fortunate enough to join a fine choir in singing this Requiem in-concert in a church sanctuary years ago. And although (understandably) audiences love to applaud loudly at the end of concert performances...I soooo wished that the audience would just let the last notes reverberate out, and that they'd sit for a moment in memorium (or just quiet reflection) and then leave the sanctuary in silence. This setting of the requiem is just so good and peaceful, that it should end in totalsilence.

  • if this is the sounds of heaven book me a place.

  • heard this song in CopyCat the movie and a CSI episode. What a powerful song!

  • magic ...

  • Beautiful! Period :)

  • they're missing a Doublebass player, HOW DARE THEY!

  • @Eccentric Richard yes, I sometimes visit the Autocar forum, it's a bit removed from the heavenly strains of In Paradisum but it's a nice contrast I guess!

  • I am an atheist but I want this to be played at my funeral. Music transends religion

  • So beautiful.

  • stunningly beautiful,I feel like I go to heaven and back whilst listening to this!.....Glorious!!!!!

  • Thin Red Line - beautiful movie with beautiful music

  • The curse of being a trumpet player. All the awesome music is for strings XD

  • @PyroDijckhoff I'm not so sure about that. The trumpet certainly has it's place, albeit a different place, but I love the trumpet.

  • I understand and trully feel what the word Peace means right now...

  • It feels like Faure had somehow managed to get to Heaven and then came back to give us their music.

  • @tonym911 - I'm not sure, I think I prefer Duruflé's In Paradisum... Incidentally, are you a member of the Autocar forum? I started browsing it recently and came across your username a number of times there...

  • Wow! Such a beautiful piece! I love Faure's Requiem. All of it is so beautiful!

  • Yeah I Know! :D This requiem is my favourite choral piece, I have Fauré as my inspiration and idol when it comes to choral music :)

  • Great piece of music. I first heard this in a film called The Thin Red Line, directed by Terrence Malick.

    Thanks for uploading this.
