Justin recorded the song for the CD in '77 or '78. Much beloved by all Moodies fans. I actually love the recorded version with Richard Burton's voiceovers.

This song means so much to me. In the fall of 1981, my younger brother Matt, died in a car accident in Colorado. No other song could explain how I felt. My sister called me at work and told me. I called WBCN in Boston and requested this song, and they played it. I will always love this song, maybe someday I will hear it performed live. 10 years of a clandestine affair, and then I moved out of state and we've lost contact...
But my One re-introduced me to Moodies music, and in particular to this track, which I'd never heard before.
I always think of him when I hear it.

Justin recorded the song for the CD in '77 or '78. Much beloved by all Moodies fans. I actually love the recorded version with Richard Burton's voiceovers.
This is a great, live version. Seen the Moodies over 50 times, first got into them in 1967. :-)

hi, saw your comment on Justin Hayward's forever autumn. I also dedicate this song to my darling best friend Maureen who left us in August 2007. She was wonderful. I miss my friend every day since, and will continue to do so, but i know she is still watching over me.
Hope the pain eased for you a bit since.

@gegan4 some body else recorded this song first it was a duo not seals and crofts some unknown duo their picture is on ther original sheet music then it was reisuued with hayward holding his guitar upside down in the picture

song..never knew the title and it haunted me

This song means so much to me. In the fall of 1981, my younger brother Matt, died in a car accident in Colorado. No other song could explain how I felt. My sister called me at work and told me. I called WBCN in Boston and requested this song, and they played it. I will always love this song, maybe someday I will hear it performed live. Every time I have seen the Moody Blues they did not do it. Someday........

I saw them in concert 7 or 8 times, and they never played it. I think that (1) Justin performed it without the Moody Blues and (2) It's a sad one. On that note - Sorry about your brother.

sorry about your brother... as you should know it is in war of the worlds. in the uk and austrailia they have a live tour with justin hayward singing forever autumn. this always reminds me of my best friend who died due to an illness a few years ago...

this was played at ashley stephens (the fireman who was killed in the warehouse blaze) and now every time i hear this song it makes me cry cause all i can remember is the coffin being carried by my fellow fireman friends! i am a young fighter and knew ashley very well i miss him like mad!!!:(:(:(:(

i remember stopping and listening to this on my next door neighbours radio. (top 40 sunday evening 1978). i was 8 yrs old and could distinctly recognise a true classic. i love all sorts of music but this is my favourite.

Thank you for your kind words....... it was nine yrs ago but I lost my mum just 2 months previous to his passing, I've only recentlycome to terms with it, but life goes on. with grandchildren on the scene they live on through them. good luck to you.
