if your headlights are yellow use the 3m because it comes with sand paper to remove the layer of yellow crap. if they are only cloudy or have light scratches or light oxidation or just starting to yellow the the meguiars kit will do the job
you can use 3M or ALSO the new Meguiar's professional headlight and spot repair kit that comes with a wall chart and tools for paint AND headlights that can attach to a rotary, hand and a DA!
@bingbong609 Honestly, I just tried both the meguiars kit this weekend with no luck, so I went back and bought the 3m kit and it worked beautifully. But beware, do not even attempt this solution unless you have a good high powered drill. Meguiars makes some good products, but if you are talking about the selection at walmart or the local auto parts store...the 3m is far superior.
the meguiars kit only works well if you wet sand the headlight first to remove most of the oxidation, thats why the 3m kit worked for you. the only reason i have the meguiars kit was because it was cheaper than the 3m when i bought it and I had auto sandpaper already. but now I use a different method along with different products. check my facebook page to see my work,

I used the 3M headlight restoration kit. My lenses where clean an incredibly clear, but still didn't look like new so I use plast x and that was the icing on the cake. I also used it on my plastic taillights, reverse lights, all my plastic surfaces. It really did deliver that WOW experience. One person even thought my lenses where new. And my driving visibility at night was incredibly improved. Thanks Meguia'rs.
I use it to my headlight. I was fixing the broken tab on my headlight which im using super glue to put it back together, but not what i expected that the glue spilt on lens. I sanded the lens and use this kit. works perfect
I tried it. I also tried 3M's Headlight Restoration Kit. The Meguiar's one only works if your headlights are not very foggy. If you have had many miles on highway or the car over 3 years old, your headlights may have been impacted by small particles and have some deeper scratches and become foggy. In the latter case, 3M's product works better.
Great question, no it does not. It is meant for a consumer to use. If the headlight is severely oxidized or damaged....you may have to use this kit along side other tools.
I'd be happy if my headlights looked like their before picture.

Maguiar's is okay for light haze. I had to use the 3M to remove the yellow haze and blemishes.

Make a video with a bad headlight that is yellow from oxidation.
That video didn't really prove much with that tiny bit of oxidation
