@roman11777 Yeah, the chaos always looked very stumpy to me, my guess is that they had to do that to better differentiate them from Empire... which worked I'd say. They aren't far from their tabletop counterparts though.
It does not surprise me. I'm still playing with a marauder and this class was broken, nerfed and it's pretty much useless now. You know any good mmos worth playing that aren't WoW?
It is for a while, but I could see content becoming stale if the wrong Open RvR is or isn't happening on your server. Some people are expecting a content patch soon, but I'm not aware of one being announced. Time will tell, it's fun for quite a while, but... its got a little way to go still. It is fun at its core, but a few big fixes are still needed, and will hopefully be forthcoming soon.
If you have time and money yeah. How long it'll take for the content to become stale vs. the content being fixed/created is yet to be seen. I have seen a lot of people quitting, but many more continuing to play.
I don't regret buying it at all. But at this point, having gone through LV, and doing lots of Scenario's and Forts I'm not sure how much longer without additional content I'll stay interested. I enjoyed it, but being on the down side of the WAR career unless something changes makes it awkward for me to suggest it to somebody else...
No kidding! :-p I'll admit I wasn't sure what Yakity Sax was and I had to google it, sure enough it sent me right back here, and once the music started... Yeah... Thats the way killing healers feels like in T1 alone. :-p
Sorc yes, Witch elf no. I'm had good success with a SH, Marauder, and Magus... all of the DPS classes are quite capible, just a matter of gear and support.
I've seen almost all the classes top DPS. Play smartly and you can do the same. The flavor of the month for Order seems to be either White Lion, or Shadow Warrior. Flavor of the month Destro seems to be Sorc or Witch Elf. Re-balancing might change this at any time though. Play well, and you'll do well. Period.
No, once you die, you can remain on the ground for about 5 minutes if you wish, or you can click "respawn" at which time you will wait a couple of seconds and spawn at the nearest Chapter, or the respawn point for the given area ie. Scenarios. The only way in which you are "lootable" is that like NPCs that are killed, you have a chance to drop other players set items, Dyes, and money. None of this is taken from you, it is simply rolled on your loot table, for their benefit.
Right. The player that dies loses nothing, other than a little dignity. You have a chance to drop random green/blue loot, and dyes, so it isn't guarenteed drops either.
To help out. Marauders can dual wield, but the class is based around their mutations. If you dual wield, you will be doing about 20% of the damage you could be. Your ability options become extremely limited, and your ability to control anyone disappears entirely. Whatever they can and cannot use, ALWAYS have your mutation as the offhand, otherwise you'll be feeling rather gimped.
Ran out of room. The reason you want to be behind them is because you use an ability called impale majorly in your DPS rotation along with convulsive slashing. But either way nice video good quality and see you on the Battle-WAAAGH!
A good start, but I will want to mention one thing, which I would assume you have learned by now. As path of brutality, (or to be more accurate the arm he chose to RvR with) it's very much less about flailing, and much more about getting the slow off and staying behind your target. For anyone who wants to be an effective marauder, I may suggest if you keyboard turn to steer far from this class, or play as path of monstrosity which is also just as fun.
I will check on dual-weilding, I don't think they can... they can use a 2h, but lose their arm functions, which make up for lots of their skills, much like they would dual weilding weapons. When you change your arm into one of the weapons, you get a new skillset, a buff to stats pending which arm you are using, and a blue level-appropriate weapon placed in your character sheet.
Good job on the videos flanlord one question though, im rolling a marauder when the game comes out and wondering what the best suited mastery for hard fast dps 1v1 or is it better to go more durable hybrid style? i was thinking of path of brutality with some points towards savagery etc..
Unless you trust your healers, which is hard to do if you are PUGing bg's/open field, I'd lean towards a more split build... or spec for offense, and gear with a fair amount of wounds/toughness. Ultimatly, the class handles pretty well on its own. Although, playing the past two days, they have changed SO many things... its insane, and I havn't gotten around to playing a marauder again yet.
Luckily on each server you can have multiple characters :-) Lots of people seem intent on knowing exactly what they are going in with. Keep in mind, it's a game, focus more on just playing and having fun. Not sprinting to the finish line.
Haha thanks. Of the two, I had much better luck on the marauder, despite not having the gear. I'd urge people to try a lot of classes when they play, because your playstyle is probably very different than mine. In MY opinion, yes, the marauder is good and fun for PvP.
Nice video. Thanks for putting in the game sound effects instead of just music. Can the Marauder use a 2 handed weapon? And does his mutation arm do anything animation wise? Or does it just kinda sit there and give him bonuses?
I didn't find a 2h, but I think I saw a guy using one, not positive though. The claw is used for animations on claw attacks, such as your dot, you do a kinda upper-cut with it, and it makes 3 tear lines. You stab with it on your backstab... esq move.
Right. the mutation is equipped in your invintory when active, cannot be moved until uncast, and counts as an offhand weapong that allows you to use your claw skills.
Its all good :-) I'm just trying to show people what I can to prepare people in whatever way they are interested in... To be completely honest I'm a little bit afraid of what going gold now will mean for the game. Hopefully gamers will understand that EA is pushing for an early release, and accept a fun, but potentially unpolished release, and be accepting of the game being finished as they play it.
I've got footage for the remaining 2 Chaos careers, but will be unable to get more footage for a little bit. I'll put those together, and try to get some more on the other careers as soon as possible. I'll throw into the descriptions whose class counterpart each one is.
Seems to be the general consensus... I'm afraid of posting the magus video... I don't have much footage at all because the class made me sad, so I just sped through as fast as I could...
shame they nerfed marauders....BIG TIME

WoW has gotten a little better in terms of higher poly armor and weapon models, more particle effects and screen effects, but yeah, not the best.

Btw, when you die. Is it like wow that you "release spirit" of some sort and run to your corpse or what?
I hope it's not like some mmorpgs I've played with the "once you die anyone can loot you". Wich basically means "Game over pal".

thats exactly what you want for 1v1 dps. savagery will give you debuffs and let you root your target and brutality messes them up bad

Overall how durable is the Maurader compared to other Melee DPS's?
Bloodangel129 3 years ago
More durable than say, witch hunter/elf, but lighter and squishier than the Tanking classes. I liked the balance a lot while playing.
