She is not even paying attention to what he is telling her lol in a way it's good because he is telling her to use auto mode :-) give her a point n shoot camera
WHY are you encouraging people to "Let the camera do the thinking?" That just feeds the BS the manufacturers sell, that the camera is responsible for the final image, and that more modes, menu options, megapixels, and other garbage will somehow make your pictures more aesthetic. Teaching photographic fundamentals takes much more time and effort, but will produce vastly better results in the long run.
Flash? That's horrible. That ruins the photo. In certain situations, and used the right way, it's fine...but that flower was not very appealing after they used flash on it...
the pop up flash sucks. so does the kit lens for macro work. and infact so do all the auto modes on the xti
I only ever use Av and Manual. 430ex flashgun and im upgrading from the kit lens to either canon ef-d 17-85mm is usm or perharps the canon ef 24-70 F2.8 L
i think that a real photographer doens't really need a lot of lenses to get good shots. if he has an eye to make good photos then even with kit lens, he can produce good quality photos.
@bigirl2186, that quote reads well in a book, but it's different in real life. All the top photographers use the most expensive lens they can afford. Show me someone who has taken good professional quality photos with the 18-55 mm kit lens that came with 400D.
i love different cameras

MANUAL FOR THE WIN automatic is not good
mrmindstorms 3 years ago 6
Use manual mode for sure, but only if you know what you're doing. Of course you're going to get better results in manual if you're a pro.

USE MANUAL :p i swear, it's better than using those automatic settings

try putting a tissue in front of the flash so it does not look so harsh. the pic not very good but you cant expect much out of the kit lens.

I agree. If it had been shot in monchrome mode it would have looked better.

HELLO everyone i need help picking a camera. I have limited it down to 4:
Canon Rebel XTi (400 D)
Olmpus Evolt E-510
Nikon D40x
Sony Alpha A100 I need the one with the best image quality, that will last the rest of my life, and that isn't painfully difficult to use.
Thanks

That macro close up sucked! I dont think a flash should ever be used on a flower, It ruins the look and the softness of the shot.
Susyr22 4 years ago 10
What kind of lens were you using?
carloscane 4 years ago
It is just a normal 18-55 mm lens.

Pretty much, I got a few good shots off the lens kit and the pop up flash. Its not THAT bad just not something I want to make $ off of.
