    Greetz from Alemania

  • me ha gustado mucho ! me encanta esa canción !

lo has hecho muy bien !

  • great cover really i liked it,brilliant job gratz man.

  • Thank u so much <3

finally i can play it *happy* =)

  • @AGreatFire

    you welcome ;-)

you just have to learn this beautifl track, now :)

  • Hey =)

    Nice cover ;)

Ive tried to play it too but i couldnt find tabs in e tuning =( could you please tell me where´d you get the tabs? would be nice ;)

  • @AGreatFire

I just got a guitar pro tablature on the net, and changed the guitar tuning in guitar pro to Standard E-Tuning (without transposing the notes)

(u could do that by clicking on the instrument name, on the bottom of the screen, in guitar pro)

  • What guitar is that? the pickup configuration remembers me of an ESP... and, nice vid, good cover, i like this song.

  • @michelterres

The guitar is a Vigier Marilyn, it's a french hand-made guitar

Pickups are emg 81/85, like on many ESP (but other guitars, too ;-))

  • since you asked for the comment im gonna give it to you. flawless job as far as i can tell. im not sure why i like the acoustic intro so much. you played beautifully. very nice job man. and i agree it takes a long to film a cover video that your satisfied with. nice job man

  • Awesome Work!! Thanks TONS for having made this beautiful instrumental cover version!!! Maybe you can do "Lethe" as well? :-)

  • @golgatanian

    thx !

I love this song but could'nt find a really nice cover on youtube (except the piano version of "Chocoalex", which is awesome), so I decided to upload one ;-)

I'll try Lethe, definitely. It's another DT awesome song ;-)

  • .actually i've been searching for about an hour for a decent cover and yours is the first one i could watch till the end!! i loved the guitar pro backtrack, did you tab it yourself? bottom line, you did a very good job dude, you should be proud ;)

  • @antibotanique

    thank you !

I just found a gtp file online and modify it a few, but nothing really important.

  • great playing, great equipment, dark tranquillity \m/

  • yeh, the harmonic is KEY! that's the 1st riff i made sure i learned from this. good job tho!

  • can you give me the standard e-tuning tab? or tell me where i can find it? because i only find tabs in D#

    thanks :)

  • if you're using guitar pro, you can change the tuning of instruments and put it in E tuning.

otherwise, I can send you the tab I used in E tuning, if you want.

    just MP me !

  • Nice one mate, awesome. ;)

  • Beautiful sound.. awesome cover..

  • sweet cover

Right hand center finger is funny ))

  • yes, it is ^^

i used to play that way :)

  • nice job

  • Did you put the microphone in front where it says ENGL? that is a bad position. With a 4x12 cab try with a dynamic mic in the edge of one of the loudspeaker cones, and crack up the gain. It will sound better. Believe me ;-)

  • thank for the tip !

I'll try that on my next video !

  • where's the pinch harmonic ?!

Thats like te highlight of the song..

Good cover anyways .. great song

  • man where's your pintch harmonics?

  • Amazing cover, beautiful song.

  • v30 or greenback?

    good sound man

  • v30 !

  • gj mate :)

  • did you put youre b-2pro in omnidereccional function?

    how does it work?

ill maybe get 1 so please tell me :D

  • yep, I put it in omnidirectionnal after some tests.

but IMO this mic is really straight-forward, there are some settings but I don't really hear big differences (I didn't test it a lot)

btw it's a really good mic, u can buy it u won't regret it !

  • that was awesome man. i've never heard this song before but i like it

  • thanx ;-)

not really difficult to play, but it's a really beautiful title... Dark Tranquillity style! :)

check their albums if you don't know them yet, I think you'll enjoy ;-)

  • great cover, great playing and I like the ENGL stuff.

    5 stars

    Robin :o)

  • fukin great cover man u never fuk around wit a Dark Tranquility song very great playin ur doin there!

  • Try placing your mic by the lower right hand corner of one of the actual speakers themselves, instead of just in the middle of the cabinet, experiment a little bit, but on average you will get a MUCH better sound that way, trust me :) awesome cover man.

  • I'll try it on my next cover, thx ! ;-)

  • spanish: buenisimo cover. te felicito me gusto mucho, muy bien interpretado. saludos !!! y mucha suerte !!!

  • i was talking about the clean part basically, but anothe r part is not hard, use an killer dist pedal!

  • great playing? the song is easier, and :) man, ur cover sounds normal for no say it have nothing special, or sound bad, use an acoustic simulator

  • nice smooth cover man :D theres another version made by the turkish baglama (lute) done by a group Chaotic Darkness,

    /watch?v=CCrHp_g9GP0&fmt=18

you should give them a listen ;)

  • Great Job, reminds me to practice this song more... Oh well... keep up the playing!!

  • thx a lot :)

i'll try to upload some other good DT songs as soon as possible...

hard choice, between Monochromatic stains, Hours passed in exile, lost to apathy, hedon, tidal tandrum, focus shift, ...

i'll choose and upload a few ones ^^

  • Great playing!

  • wow.. your guitar sound is awesome!

  • that an 8 string on the rack?

  • no, there are 2 other guitars on the rack, an old Godin, and a Vigier Excalibur, both 6 strings ;)

  • Ole ese Frances!! xD Ya estas en favoritos xDD

  • What are you using as a foot contoller? MIDI?

  • yes, it's a MIDI controller (Behringer FCB 1010), passing through my preamp

  • fabulastico!

  • wow, your play is awesome!

I saw that elsewhere too, and i don't understand it:

    pickup -> preamp -> effects -> speaker -> microphone -> computer

What is the reason that people don't connect the output directly to computer?

    pickup -> preamp -> effects -> computer

Or in this case only video/audio synchronicity?

  • the reason is simple : the quality of the sound loop is highely decreased if you connect your preamp directly to your computer.

why ? because you just simulate speakers on your computer, and speakers is one on the most important part of the sound...

I played a long time with just a line6 toneport plugged in my computer without speakers, but the result is really not comparable :/

(but the price is 10 times lower, too :)

  • i like how he is flippin us off the whole time

  • lol ;-)

    it's quite true ^^

  • Perfect!!!

  • man where did you get your Vigier Marilyn? and how much was it... thats beautiful by the way :D

  • yep, my Marilyn is my favorite guitar, "she" 's almost perfect ! ;-)

I'm from France, and Vigier is a french trademark, so it's not that difficult to find some Vigier where I live :)

And it was about 2000 euros... expensive, but less than a custom shop from fender, ibanez and such... and better, imo :)

  • awsomee work!!!!!!!

  • ANG POGI MO WAKOKO AWTZ!!!!!

  • Very nice cover bro!Keep up, more let ring, and it's perfect.Anyway 5/5 starz!

  • you did a wonderful work with this!

  • Bravoooo :) claps claps claps

  • your are nice this is one of the best(all dt track are asowme)and you are relly good, praticaly perfect

  • nice one,

the only thing that bugs me is that sometimes the sound of the notes stop to early in the acoustic part

    but great work

  • Yeah, teh ntro could use some chorus/reverb/delay combo

  • very sweet sound my friend

  • çok iyisin ya...:)))

  • great job friend i really love it and i'm gonna put it in favorites.thanks

  • gr8 one : )

  • that sounds great dude!

  • very very nıce:)

  • PERFECT!!

  • perfect dude!

  • Very nice job!

  • Hey Mate,

I'm a sound engineer myself, and it's really annoying setting up an entire rig like that just to record. You can get very, very similar results through the Line6 UX2, which retails for around $150USD, and it's worth it, you can emulate head amps and cabinets, and you can plug your guitar or bass straight into it with a usb output. It'll save you soo much time.

    -Turners1

  • hi turners1,

i've got a Toneport UX2 too, it sounds pretty good for the price (I paid it 200€ here in France ..), but I really prefer the sound of my tube amp (much more dynamics, lovely distortion etc..) !

But u're right, using the UX2 saves a lot of time ;-)

  • b4gu3tt3,

Yeah, I would do the same, but for a newbie the UX2 is a GODSEND!

    Rock On!

  • I love this vid

    Tone superb

    Playing Superb

  • That song always sounds wicked.

  • Best song on TMI after Dreamlore Degenerate! Good job!

  • really perfect job mate. gz

  • That was the shit. I have never heard this song..

  • great work mate! Cheers

  • first accurate cover of this on youtube lol good job, but u accidently(or on purpose i cant tell) palm muted a few notes which made it too dull when you should jst let it ring man :P love playin this song its beautiful

  • thanx !

yep, I palm muted a few notes that I should have let ring, but the arpeggios are quite difficult to play perfectly ! :)

  • nah its easy enough if you play with finger picking

  • fingerpicking is a whole other technique but for those who master it is indeed much easier than playing with a pick , btw great video b4qu.... grts

  • dude i picked up finger picking instantly its really easy

  • yeah uhm of course , this is fingerpicking too right ?!!! haha, try some ragtime ok and then reply

  • of course there is all sorts of degrees in ragtime, it's about the chords you play in combination with the bass lines you using so ....

  • thx :)

I played the full song with a pick because I used to play like that, but of course you could play the arpeggios with fingerpicking technique, it's probably easier .. ;-)

  • Gently hold our heads, gently hold our heads on high! !m!

  • Great performace indeed

  • Good job

  • Nice work.Great Movie!

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! This is something only Dark Tranquillity can do!!!

  • gracias por ser asi..grande man thanks

  • i love it man..oractice more but u r gd...love this song..btw u shud use ur fingers nd not the pick for the clean part...it will sound better

  • again i say......u got mad skills....keep it up!!

  • That was the shit! you fuckin rock dude.

  • so nice work !!

  • very well played man! quite smooth for a pick-play! oh and by the way...cool equipment you got there.

    greetings from Mexico.

    Jorge Zamora-Serpent's Blood.

  • thx !

yep, the engl preamp sounds like hell and the poweramp is very good too :)

I love them, but it doesn't seem my neighbours appreciate ;-)

  • I've been trying to play this song, and it's very hard... You play it very smooth, thumbs up man! ;) Great cover

  • thx a lot !

quite hard to play, especially the clean intro..

I had to learn it by heart and practise a lot :)

  • are those vintage 30's in the cab?

  • yep, it's an ENGL V30 cab

I like the way it sounds :)

  • is ur mic pointed at the middle of the cab? might be better if you point it at a speaker, just whatever everyone else does

  • yep, I should have centered the mic, but the sound is almost the same, don't worry ;-)

  • very godd awesome

  • oh my god the arpeggio intro ROCKS !!

  • nice work. impressive :) love this song.

  • the song after the intro, very very good man, you know the song percect, but the intro must be improved all the mute notes after struck,

but i ll put 4 stars, dont angry with me, I KNOW how difficult is play that mad intro perfect

    : )

congratulations, for this nice cover on an amazing song, there goes my 4 stars for u !

  • yeah, this intro is hard to play, I messed it up several times before posting this version..

that's maybe why DT skip it when they play insanity's crescendo live ;-)

  • yearhh,ADRIENNN POWAAA :^p

  • Yeah that's a french guitar "Vigier" play by the amaziing guitarist "Mister PAIN"!

    That's it!

Purée le matos qd mm je testerais bien :D

  • very nice, 5/5 ! I was waiting for someone to post a cover of that beautiful song !

    You did it perfectly :)

btw, you've got an amazing sound, your Engl preamp rocks like hell !

Your guitar seems pretty cool, too, but I don't know it. What is it ?

    Keep posting !

  • thx !

As grinegiant said, my guitar is a Vigier Marilyn.

I've changed its pickups (Dimarzio X2N) with EMG 81/85, and that sounds great! :)

  • Very good cover guy, of a magnific song

  • hey, very good :)
