Thank you so much for this video! My grandfather was Otis Stincon and they owned Stinson Ridge. My family are the Whitt's and Stinson's and this brings to mind so many stories of the working in the mines and the ones who died there.
almost the same as I remember it in 1970 when I was an engineer I think we worked out of the red brick school house. It has been some time and old men forget but I do remember the low coal in Jewell Ridge #11 & 11A
My dad was a coal miner as well - but i the 70's and early 80's... he came home all blacked up, too :) Good memories, but what a risk he took every day!

i like this video very ,very much it potreays my family s very life my gradfather worked at davisbugh mining for 5 dallars a week and fed 7 chldren
