If you take a child from its original and loving family for no reason, all things above can happen because the kid becomes traumatised and cut off from everything he leared was security. He will have to try to survive in a new family-now he has learned that life is nothing you can trust. This shock might lead to future dissociation, rootlessness, identity problem, alienation.People who take kids from orig and loving parents should have very good reason to do that, otherwise its a big crime.
Any trauma affects brain structures because the memories are stored in brain circuits. The memories are stored in fragments and some of the memories and sometimes all can be outside of awareness. Important to think in terms of protective factors: what helps children to work through the effects of violence
Deb I agree with you 100%. I have read your book and found it amazing. It was one of the most powerful ones I have read so far. But one thing you said that I am not sure about is this. I do believe these children do have the capacity to love. People who have been through incredible amounts of trauma can and do love again. I am not sure they ever feel safe in that love, but they can love.
