Thats the exhaust getting all red-hot - on a regular car, the exhaust temperature tops off at 800 degrees celcius at max performance. I dont know how hot actual performance cars exhaust gets, im just an average mechanic :)

@miles2057 The exhaust manifold collects all the spent gases and channels them into the turbine wheel of the turbo to spin the compressor connected by a shaft to generate extra airflow. Because theres a buildup of exhaust gas at the turbo it just keeps getting hotter, thats why it glows until you lay off the throttle. A road car would rarely get that hot unless you lay a continuous burnout or driving up a big long hill and the engine is constantly under load.

the most the dyno got up to in the "Power/HP" box was like 738. this engine does not produce 1000 bhp.

it says right there on the computer in the video if you dont believe me.....

@chillincruisin Its re-directed back into the downpipe so you don't hear that roaring sound that an open down wastegate would normally make. I prefer open, but alot of builders prefer close just because it helps contain the exhaust heat while also making it easier to hear pinging.

@northsfinest100 Yes, it's the exact same straight 6, but the turbo FPV used in the 'Phoon is larger. In that car, you'd be getting a GT3540 turbo while the XR6T has the GT3040.
