you have to use issued firearms, depending on your branch and job you will be lucky to have an m4. i saw marine logistics carry m16-A2s in iraq with iron sight a couple years ago. It's lame but it ensures interchangeability and enforces use of standard NATO ammunition. besides if you carry a personal and it fails you then no life insurance
cant touch my bushmaster 308. the biggest problems with these is the round they fire. the 6.8 and the 556 are basically a 30-30 round one is more powerful in different areas than the other. if you want a badass gun get a 308 and mod it to what you want. you can build anything your heart desires
Is it still steel on steel bearing? I mean to ask is it still utillizing steel glide tracks that the BCG rides on' or did they opt to go with an all extruded alluminum upper like the SCAR to save wieght?
Thanks for getting this vid out ive been checking on here for reviews and what not seeing what people who have purchased the acr are feeling about it, im waiting to see how everyone feels befor making my purchase! great vid
Just wanted to add that there's lots of good info here. I applaud you for being one of the first to get this info out there. Video trumps a pictorial-writeup anyday!
@boricuaDV Thanks boricua!!! I just got down shooting the range footage for the range review video due out this week. Hope you stay tuned to watch the follow up!
Few, if any, would deny that this is a very forward-thinking rifle design. The biggest drawback is the huge price tag. It now has to compete against a host of other top shelf piston systems (including exotics), and that's a tough playing field to compete in for any newcomer design. To put it into perspective, the basic ACR costs more than my completed scoped, DMR style M1A. The result is that only the real afficionados will even consider this poodle shooter, whereas if it were $1500 - $1600...
Whoa, wait a second. Unless I'm completely misinformed, the ACR bolt catch is NOT like the Magpul BAD lever at all. As I understand it, the ACR catch slides up and down, similar to the Robinson XCR. So similar, in fact, that Robinson has filed suit against Bushmaster and a host of other manufacturers for ripping off this patented bolt catch design. The BAD lever is pushed to the side to basically actuate the standard bolt catch of a AR15/M4 design.
@PDBreske You're absolutely right considering the mechanical operation of the mechanism and the developmental history of the rifle. However, I was just trying to emphasize the application of Magpul's philosophy considering the placement and purpose of function of that part. Thanks for the comment.
if i could put a bayonet on it i would give up girls completly and take that beauty

In comparison to an AR, how would you rate it's accuracy, felt recoil, trigger pull and weight?

Is the Flash hider the same as the standard AR15 flash hider? Same Threading?
RawDawg3Delta 1 year ago
@RawDawg3Delta I believe it is the 1/2x28 threading, and it is a standard A2 birdcage.
